Hello Everyone,
I hate to have to step in here, but feel that I must.

First and foremost-This swap was designed as a way to make new friends, learn new skills and stretch ourselves outside of our normal comfort zones. I would like to see it stay this way. Any problems that may arise or are going on, need to be addressed to me in private! Airing dirty laundry in public is not nice, not friendly and NOT ALLOWED.

Secondly- The only thing that can be stated as being against the rules at this point is the mailing of F8s. I ask that they be mailed within the first three weeks so we are well beyond that. I know some of you are bothered by how infrequently some swappers post & though I may ask and request people to give at least a weekly update, some people just can't do that. If you wish to ask someone if they have mailed their F8 that is fine but we have FOUR MONTHS to MAKE blocks. Just because you have not received blocks back yet does not mean you won't. Most people who join the boom swaps fulfill their commitments. Are some of them late? Absolutely but sadly we cannot predict what life is going to throw at us. I have had the gamut of things happen throughout my swaps to my swappers from loosing a loved one, to being extremely ill to loosing a job unexpectedly. Not everyone likes to air their personal lives. I merely tell you all what is going on with ME so that you know as a hostess I am not ignoring you I just have some medical issues I am dealing with. Luckily the emergency brain surgery on the 21st seems to have done something-I just hope it lasts.
Some people will never fulfill their commitment, sadly that is not something I or anyone else can control. It is a risk one takes when one joins a swap. You may send fabric out and never get anything back, you may send it out and get an F8 but never a completed block, you may send fabric out and have a beautiful and perfect swapping experience, we never really now. But what I do know is for the most part the Boom swaps have become a repeat swap for many, many people and they are all good people who honor their commitments. I try very hard to weed out the people who join and then do not uphold their end of the swap but once in awhile, yes one will slip by me and end up in another swap when perhaps they shouldn't have. I am human and yup I do make mistakes.

C- (I'm not a fan of the number 3 so I use C ) I hope we can all get back to our regular program of enjoying matching colors, picking out blocks and working at a pace that is comfortable for us. We all work on a different pace, and one of the reasons so many enjoy the Boom swap is because it does give you a longer turn around time to do different blocks in different color schemes.

Any more issues, concerns, hurt feelings, upsetness or just plain venting, please bring them to me Let's keep this a FRIENDSHIP swap.

Huge Hugs
April

Well said, April! We come from all different circumstances and yet we share a love of sewing and fondling fabrics. This is my first boom swap, and I approached it by using the same pattern, and adapting it to the fabrics received, which eliminated the pattern decisions. Some of you have individually picked patterns to compliment each fabric, which is wonderous to me, and must take a LOT of time and effort. I challenged myself to use only my stash, but some of you are making separate LQS trips to match FQ's - again, my admiration is boundless. I am retired, some of you are juggling jobs and travel. My kids are all on their own (thank goodness!), some of you are raising kids, grandchildren, canning and home schooling. My hat is off to you, and my prayers with you. Heck, I feel guilty and I think I should do some of YOUR blocks for you to send out. So send them over and I won't tell a soul..... (insert a group hug here)

I received a beautiful block from nanakathy55 today in the mail. You did an awesome job on matching the colors of those peppers and it will make a very nice addition to my placemats. Thank you so much.

My mail was filled with surprised today. I received blocks from ThemamaHauser and urgodschild2. Ladies I LOVE them both. The greys you each picked are so pretty and compliment the other colors beautifully. Thank you so much! I also received a block from quiltingmommy(side swap) and her F8 to put in my file for it's turn at growing up! She did the most fun circles. LOVE it!!

I actually completed three blocks today and they are packaged and ready for the PO. I hope you like them. I admitted earlier I was stumped. Those ladybugs on black TwinRiversFarm sent had me in a BoomBlock BLOCK.... TheMamaHauser, you're pink/tan Batik is on it's way home too. I tried to fussy cut the colors to blend into the block I made. I like it, but the color I added is really close to your pink and REALLY blends. I hope you like it anyway. Let's see...who else... Elisabrat. Your bumble bee's also had me thinking. But I'm pleased with it too. I posted them all in my ProfileFolder. Only look, girls, if you are to curious to wait for your PO.

Funny thing, I actually bought at least two FatQuarters per F8 and on these three blocks I ended up using my stash instead... Don't worry, don't worry...those FQ's are in the box with their friends waiting to audition for my next set of baby blocks.

Oh sorry these pics are HUGE... I need to remember to size them SMALL...

Oh also...I am still missing F8's from:

arienn
Lv2sew2011

All my F8's were sent August 24, so if you're missing mine, PM me please..I'll rush one to the PO. I think my postal lady is highly amused by all my squishy mailings.

Oh ya and as not to waste scraps, as I finish your blocks, unless you asked for your left-over fabric back, I am cutting them into 2.5", 1.5" and 1" squares, respectfully. I'm getting the most cute collection. However, I am trying to pick blocks that utilize the most of your fabric that I can.

HUGS,
SheriR

Hello everyone. Blocks are looking good. I am behind on my postings, sorry. Working on it. No design wall up, things going one, and canning is consuming my time. I did finish what I needed finally on Saturday, canning pears, cold, and all, got them done. I am hoping this week finds me with a little more free time to work on blocks. Hoping. These blocks you are posting are so very pretty. Liking the show.
