*grumble* thank god for people who send black fabric as their fabric.. tried a paper piecing pattern today. First time I've ever paper pieced.. it got all wiggly in the middle. *scowl*.. and one quarter of the sections is like at least 1/4-1/2" too short.. and overall it wants to measure 12" and not 12.5".. *scowl* back to the drawing board. have I mentioned I don't like paperpiecing? Oh and my stupid tips/corners didn't exactly line up even when I pinned. Again I say.. Have i mentioned i don't like paperpiecing?!

Wanna see the abomination?

Oh sweetie...paper piecing isn't really evil. It can be so much fun. It's truly the only way I can get super sharp points.

Carol Doak's (or however you spell her name) has a super super helpful video. I'm not sure if it's on youtube or not but I know there are other videos online to help.

My very very very best friend in paper piecing is my "add a 1/4" ruler". It has made my life easier when I discovered the joys of using it.

If you want to call and chat about it, pm me and I'll give you my landline # ... you'd have to call on Sunday as we'd be out most of tomorrow. Don't know if I can help but I'd be willing to give it a try.

I just watched this and it's a real quick "show & tell" of the ruler.

Is the link to where they make the rulers (I'm not connected with them...I just really like it)

I need that ruler for regular piecing.. I HATE scant seams, A easy to blow ifyou even slightly move and B not nearly as strong as a 1/4 seam if you ask me. Especially for kids quilts or heavy use items that will get lots of washing. Give mea real 1/4 inch seam any and all days of the week. Will check that out, gotta leave in half a minute here.. posting received doghousemom and okdarla yesterday.. pretty fabrics.. those two in boxs are filling up fast! ciao!

Jacquie - can't believe how fast your F8 made it to me, and how fast some of those F8's made it to you (especially the one from Australia!). I am stunned.

Red face My Fabrics and I got squishes...

I got my fabric ready for mailing but not out today.

I did get 3 squishes in the mail on Friday. They are from CharlotteMarie, DogHuseMom and OK Darla. All so pretty. Will get the blocks started this weekend too.

Hope you all have a good weekend. Phannie
