    Hello ladies/gents:

Yesterday it came to me & a few others in another thread that perhaps a "chicken block swap" might be kinda fun. I wanted to throw out the idea and see what the interest level is. It can either be a chicken block swap, an animal block swap (ie chix, fishes, dogs, kitties), or even extend to a "creature" block swap (extending the group to include ladybugs, dragonflies, butterflies, etc).

So...let me know if you are interested. Perhaps this would be a 12-block exchange?

I'd love to depending on the time frame. The current IRR ends Sept 15..the new one has 1st mail date of Oct. 15...

When are you planning on launching?

I can do this when it's most convenient for everyone - no plans...just fishing for interest and limits

Those chicken blocks are so cute, I think I would like that most too. I've wanted to do a dozen chickens but no time so far!

Absolutely! Not too soon though, as others said. Lots of stuff due soon like the IRR center and the blue and yellow swap.

I'm interested, but have never done a chicken block. Where do I get info on how to? I raise chickens, so am interested in them or other farm animals. Let me know where I can get info on how to make , then I will let u know.

I'd be interested in whatever you decide to do but wondering if you are thinking all applique blocks or all pieced blocks (or both?). Cute website link at above.

Okay all, seems we have enough interest, but I can see some people prefer dogs/cats and others want chickens. I think since this originated with chickens, that's what we will stick with. I will get the rules put together, clear it with the powers that be, and get it posted asap.

Just so everyone knows, I don't think we should limit what type of block (applieque, pieced...), but rather just limit the size so they are consistent.

Be back in touch on this - hopefully tomorrow!!

If there are those that are wanting to do an all cat one, I'll take charge of it. Only thing....it would be a short fuse on it and all blocks would have to be to me by mid-October and then mailed back out by the end of October.
I'd be willing to do that. Then, those that just want to do chickens can do them and those that want cats can do those. OR...if someone wants to do both, they can.
