I woul also blow up that pattern an you could even piece just the big pattern pieces instead of adding in all those little pieces. Let me rephrase that, I think you can

    Donna, (dconroy84)

I picked out what fabric I'll use for your table topper. It will be nice and bright for the summer.

Just to let you all know, Donna and I are partners and we live about 25 miles apart. We will exchange in person whenever we get finished and have lunch, too. We met once before, of all places.....a quilt shop!

    How neat is that!
    Sew many Quilts.......so little time!

Queenof... got more of that fabric today thanks to a Joann's 40% off coupon! I think I'm going to experiment with a convergence runner. What do you think???

That sounds great! Just love those Joann's coupons!! I like that they allow the paper coupons, text messages, and the J app. Last week I saved $33!

    Home at last!

Oh so nice to be home again, now just to put all the "stuff" away. I certainly shopped my way through the states we visited and will post a pic later of the goodies I picked up along the way. Just a little peek at our trip for all of you, 1st was my son's house in Washington and our sweet little great grand daughter Zaita, next to Marybeth's in Oregon on my b-day and the cute little apron she made me, on to le brat's in CA, fun gambling and a beauty of a table runner for my b-day present and then got home and had this wonderful kit, etc. from Vanogay for my b-day surprise. Can't thank each one of you enough for the awesome 67th years, for the friendships we've made and the great memories that will stay with me forever. Name: DSCF1321.JPG

Got you beat! I saved $82.66! I have a 60% off coupon and figured I'd get a rotating cutting mat to replace the one I lost in the flood ... but darn it! It's on sale! Don't you hate that? HUGE coupon and nothing to spend it on!

Jaba, Loved the pics of your fun trip. Really made it come alive for all us us who follow the thread. My partner in this swap likes blacks and grays but I have an idea of what to buy to make it work to be int he category of Patriotic. Just have to get to a fabric shop and see if they might have what I need. Good thing we have lots of time. Hope all you mother's had a wonderful day.

jaba thank you for sharing photos of your vacation; you have a handsome son and a beautiful granddaughter.
How fun to be able to meet other members on the board - what a fun apron - seeing the inside of the casino reminds me of the first time I ever went to one - I didn't have a clue what I was doing other than the fact I took a set amount of money with me - I got my $1 coins thinking that's what you play with - dropped some in a slot and BAM I won $450 right away - found my neighbor said I was ready to go home because I won and she replied "Are you nuts - we just got here. You can play on the houses money now and keep your own." So I played on and played some more - I lost all the money I won plus the money I was prepared to spend. I seldom gamble after that.

What a memorable vacation - thank you for sharing your photos with us.

Oh, I'm so glad! They are inspiring! I was awake late trying to design in my head. I really need a sketch pad at my bedside Can't decide if I'll follow a pattern, of go with my head (that could be dangerous)

Yeah I am a cheap gambler so is Jan. We both said we would rather buy fabric than throw it in a machine lol. She did a grand job at that too I am thinking this morning.. what is your favorite summer salad? I have this cold rice salad I make with artichoke hearts and such and its so darned good. Something from this San francisco ala carte cookbook I have. yummm...

any sewing that got done? anyone sending their runners yet or are you all on the slow track? love to hear from you so little chatter this time and with 35 players that amazes me. surely some more of you can jump in HINT HINT.. let me know your alive ok? and maybe picking fabric or sewing by now???

Hey, I'm still in the hunt for fabric. I saw and purchased at my favorite LQS some Kona Dimension solid fat quarters to go with a print I saw and ordered on line. Low and behold, the print was sold out. So now I'm either looking for that print local, or starting from scratch again. Being this is my very first runner, I'm stressing over the fabric choices. I'm thinking a sample run through maybe in order.

Went berry pickin last week and it took me 3 days to process all the berries. Out in the field, among all the ripe berries, 30 lbs. didn't look like a lot. I got them home and good grief! What was I thinking. Glad I got them last week. Last night we had frost. Yep, the weather guy said it's the coldest it's been since 1941. No worries, tomorrow it's in the 80's.

Good morning, Linda! I'm alive here! I've got to get my mojo going. Haven't sewn anything yet. Don't know what's wrong with me these days ... I'm just stuck.
Favorite summer salad? Hard to say, but we used to love having a sort of Mediterranean platter on the porch in the summer time - a mix of black and green olives, pepperonici, feta cheese, fresh mozzarella with basil, babaganoush, garlic and or lemon hummus, ice cold radishes and celery sticks, and toasted pita. Add a pitcher of lemonade and wait for neighbors to pass by to join us. Very yum and very fun!

I have my runner sewn and just need to finish the hand binding. Waiting to hear from my partner to see if she's done also or still working on it.

Well, I have not even begun the TR for my partner but ideas are tumbling around in my head. Are off to a grandson's graduation for the next week in another state. When we get back, hope to be able to get to Joann's 60 miles away and look for what I want. My sp likes blacks, grays etc so hard to get too much patriotic or summery with those colors but I still have something in mind. :-) Just have to find the fabric.
As to summer salads, my favorite one is cooked macaroni..the ones that look like short little pipes partly curled. Drain, add mayo and sliced green olives stuffed with piemento, some dill, a bit of chopped onion, salt and pepper and some chopped celery. Yum! I could eat the whole bowl!
