I have snowmen out all year round and I have Robert Duncan (sp) pictures on the wall - all WINTER themed - my favorite is kids riding a goat - I can just hear all the laughter and merriment when I look at the print - to each his own I guess - winter can be a lot of things to different folks - ie: hot cocoa; ice skates; snowflakes; snow covered pines; snowmen; scarves and mittens; snowboots/snowshoes and skis; snowball quilt block; icicles; cardinals; themometer that reads below zero; hockey etc. - my imagination runs wild.

ok maybe it was paranoia? I just want things to be perfect lol.. in my mind they are always perfect. My favorite painting ever is a little one of a girl pulling a sleigh. it was painted in the late 1800's and my mother had it hanging in the hall right above the heat register. I used to stand at night in my nightgown and gaze up at it. gilded frame.. love that picture. unfortunately years and years of smoke has left it with a terrible tint. my sis has it as she doesn't mind the smoke smell. I might take it and ask someone who restores things like that. she wont do it and has about fifteen of her pictures. hum.. I wonder.. you got me thinking. I think snow.. pine trees, hot drinks your right on that one and well hard to make icicles dabbler ! no pattern for that one! and well.. maybe snowmen are winter after all. I always decorate with snowflakes for January.

In answer to whether snowmen are Christmas or winter - I think they can be either or both.
I used to only decorate for Christmas and snowmen were included. Then for awhile I did like a previous poster and saved (most of) the snowmen for January. Now I don't do a lot of decorating because I'm not at home very much. I wear my snowmen jacket all winter.

I too decorate myself an addiction to sparkly broaches like the kind they had in the 50's and 60's oh oh la la rhinestone addiction! my mom wore those and had the real fancy ones.. she was the envy of the neighborhood .. top line stuff. dumb as I was let my lil sis keep them and give them to her daughter.. now I wish I had it back. day late dollar short. would gift it to my own little girl who would love to sparkle up like that again.. and whiel your young oh boy does it work good

I made chicken pot pie tonight and well it was good .. looking for great. who has a great recipe for this?

Good morning everyone - we had to scrape windshields this morning as the temps dropped below freezing last night; I think our winter season will soon be upon us. All together now "Think Snow" - LOL - just kidding; as much as I love winter I want to get past Halloween first and I don't want the weather to infringe on my favorite kids holiday.

Love my glittery snowmen and snowflakes - I also have hand blown glass balls that I leave hanging in the bay window - when you face the light and hold them up to your eye you can see the honeycomb designs inside - they're beautiful.
I once scored four large rhinestone broaches from a friend who wanted to borrow money - the broaches were an exchange/pawned to me - long story short - they were his mothers and he was an only child and I held on to them for a year and finally called to see what he wanted to do - he had the money but decided he didn't want them back and that I should keep them and do what I wanted. I lent one to the daughter of my best friend for her wedding hair-piece - it was stunningly beautiful - 2 inches across square - after the ceremony I gifted it to her to possibly gift to her future children; I gave one to my bestie for her birthday as she kept after me to sell it to her and I still have the other two and wear them on occasion. Love the vintage sparkles - they really dress up a jacket/scarf/purse/hat etc.

Have a wonderful day.

Brat, Just tossing my two cents in here as to your choices...All of the pictures speak to me of winter...not Christmas so I think you would be safe with any of them as choices. Lucky partner, whoever she is. As to the subject of brooches...(neat topic) I can remember how popular they were in the 50's and early 60's. I had a gorgous onethat was Sarah Coventry. Somehow over the years, I lost it. I still haunt ebay looking for it. It was silver with light blue stones. But at least I still have it in my memory bank.
