Most of the blocks posted so far seem to be applique. Is that a must or can they be pieced blocks -- just not D9P?

Hi Jannie, Yes, pieced blocks are most welcome.

It is quilt shop fabric so good stuff.
That sounds like a perfect size, Red. I'm planning to make mine at 12.5" as that is my favorite size block. Your 9.5" will fit perfect! I can't wait to get started on mine. I'm trying to finish quilting up my Bonnie Hunter MQ but didn't like how my quilting was working out, so I now have half a quilt to unpick. Depressing work, but I know I will be happier with it in the end.

I just hate frogging NZquilter! (rip-it, rip-it) I have had to do it before and it is almost heartbreakingly long to do for me. I hope it isn't that way for you. I have lots to do in the sewing room. I tore out a huge amount of patterns for summer tops and they all need to go back except the ones I will use to make a couple tops.
I hope to take my sis to lunch today for her birthday. We will see, her allergies have been giving her fits and she painted her bedroom at the end of last week. That takes it's toll on us older ladies. LOL...

I think the bugs and birds sound like so much fun for the swap. Although kitchen things are a cute subject too.

I'm with you ladies on the ripping out. I too have a quilt that I'm working on un-picking. I don't like how the quilting is coming out and know, I will always regret it if I don't just take out the quilting and start again. Just two quarters to go and then it will be ready to try again.

I started auditioning fabrics today accidentally. I was working on my summer top and found all these lovely browns, golds, reds, oranges, and deep greens that I want to play with now! Soon, very soon......

Why thank you armylady! I will try and get a pic of them before I put them into a envelope to mail. Maybe after I get my annuals in this morning. Hubby got me petunias and pansies to give a pop of color to the garden.
