Well, I'm in and I have to say I'm very excited to be part of this swap. So I have requested items for my kitchen. I would really really love a full bib vintage apron. Something my 'grusmam' would've worn . I've been meaning to try my hand at making a few to sell in my quilt shop but so far no go. I think some little fine retro prints would be just the thing. My favorite color is purple. I've also been thinking a nice table runner or two would be great to have on hand. I like to switch out my decor from time to time, whether it be with seasons or just because the feeling hits.

Welcome Alberta Quilter! I have several apron patterns I have ben wanting to try out, and I am actually making my first table runner now for Brat's side swap. Don't tell her that I haven't even started piecing it together yet. My daughter's favorite color is purple, she would have a field day picking out fabric. Whenever we go to our LQS we have to go look at the purple fabric section, and she always asks if she can have some. It is so cute!!!!... We could purple you out for sure!

what if we had a 'personal convenience' category? eyeglasses case, wallet. purse. purse organizer, cosmetic case, change purse, re-useable shopping bags, sewing kit. quilting travel kit, etc!

That was all the types of things I was looking at as "other". I'm surprised nobody has asked for a bag yet to be honest.

Dusty'smomma I didn't even think of a purse, etc. as "other". Scratch my kitchen item and you can put down a purse or change purse or wallet or quilting travel kit ( gees I need that now) or all of the above. Good idea nancia, want my address, you can sew to your hearts content and I be happy happy........but you have to send them to me.

jaba--i see a swap in our future! lol i've never made a purse but i have a couple of patterns. i don't know if i have the large or small bow-tucks pattern. when there was a quilting swap- partners gave each other ideas and then they did what ever-- i made a jacket, reversible , with quilting, and another time i made a dahlia cushion cover-- since this one went to australia i sent it unstuffed. those puppies weigh quite alot, even without fluffies. that was a fun swap that just seemed to have run its course. like you , jaba, people ran out of things they needed.
i am currently trying to design some pincushions, and mugrugs, and find my dog who has gone on a walkabout this evening. she just loves to see what's going on in the rest of the 'world'. usually she comes when i whistle ( there's a cookie in it for her) but it's 3 a.m. and i'm glad no one has tried to shoot me for going b y their house stridently whistling. probably someone has her tied up for her safety. trouble is, she is very good at finding her way home if no one interferes. i DO appreciate that people are trying to keep her safe, so if i sounded ungrateful, i'm not. but she will come home if she can. no doubt i'll get a call around 8 telling me they have her. her collar has her name, kitten the dog, and her t-phone number. since sandy and the general collapse of our fence we have rec'd quite a few calls. there is a pet door to the yard and most of the time the fence stays up, but guess who likes to wiggle thru.

I've moved your #1 choice to the end of your "I'll have a surprise" section. Now if I can just remember it when I send out names, lol. Since it's not secret this time though, you can check with your partner when you find out who it is too!

About a year ago I was making purses like crazy, between the daughter in laws and grand daughters I have 2 left for me, purple and turquoise...imagine that huh? Haven't made them since. One of my spurts of inspiration again. Have never made a quilted jacket, have seen them where you modify a sweatshirt and quilt over the top of it. Some of those are amazing. Got to get my pin cushion and needle cases done so I can take them and mail on the way and the mug rugs swap, FQ's envelops, I know I'm going to forget something. Thank heavens I've been stuffing stash money for the shopping part, my husband is cringing at more fabric but tells me I better get to sewing. What a guy, he just says he's not building me another room!!
