but what if just for like thinking differently instead of such a broad swap you narrow it to things like anything you could use in a kitchen! this might attract more sign ups.. maybe the other stuff scares people a bit too many options. I think its easier to get a group on one item ie such as HOLIDAYS YOU PICK THE ONE Kitchen swap! you know ok kick me just a thought.. then say kitchen can be table runners/mats, aprons, pot holders! towels! and if your adventerous a cover for a blender or such.. not too many things. I know then those who cant sew those grand items can say.. hey I can make pot holders! or an apron! or.. you know? I know when its too big its scary.. for newbies at least. I am still a newbie (ok maybe not). I am however far from an expert quilter.

This one I love my fabric choices and wonder which one to pick. my heart says one my gut says another. argh. I have to remember its not for me.. ooohhh partner what say you???

PS I am secretly happy holidays are winning. I love holidays. My next hope was batiks but I will kill that urge with Tracibugs cool swap on batik blocks. then my overkill on batik will be finished.

Also everyone you have to think when you sign up if you need a gift in the future. Maybe someone you know could really use an apron. sign up asking for an apron. if you think your pals could use pot holders ask for them in return so you get the fun of sewing for your partner and you get a gift to give when your partner sends you theirs. Its not all about getting something for you.. you could chat with all of us, you can sew along with all of us and then in the end you have a present to give .. that is another cool option all around in my little minds eye.

So, is everyone sleeping in here? Did we get too cozy during the last swap & now nobody has anything to say? Gosh it's been quiet. I hope that means everyone's busy bees & getting some sewing done! So where some teasers!?

Morning Dustysmomma. I hope your day is beautiful and sunny. I am off to clinic once AGAIN sheesh it seems like I am always at clinic. Lucky duck we have a clinic or there would be no brat so I will shut up on that one. I have pulled my fabrics now I am waiting to hear from my partner if that little bit of teal is going to throw it all off for her or not. Also the one with the teal has flowers and the other option no flowers more tone on tones.. I just don't know if she cares for flowers or not some don't. sigh so they sit on the kitchen counter but soon its going to be the flowers I pick. I just like the combo of the fabrics. P and B textiles nice fabrics

What are you using for your fabrics Dustysmomma?

I am trying to finish up all my stuff by the end of this month so I can mail before deadline. I have Brat's table runner, two needle cases, and the pincushions are done. I just have to quilt the table runner and bind; I'm kinda scared to quilt it with my machine going thru a stubborn stage, it tried to eat my needle case yesterday but so far fine this morning. Keep your fingers crossed!!!!!

sorry-- i have been uncharacteristically quiet, but i've been busy sewing and walking the ladies. they are under house arrest until we can get pieces back in the fence. it is literally falling apart in pieces. kitten is helping it along with her insane desire to bark at the neighbors' pool storage under his deck. i think some animal is living under there, but he won't check. big burly men can be afraid of things that soft delicate women just laugh off, and vice versa.

I got this from a poster on Sindy Rodenmeyer's yahoo group and thought it was fitting for all my quilting friends. I'll also be sharing it in the fabric moratorium, because the good lord knows they all need it too!

QUILTER'S WILL

Being of sound mind and body (a statement that does not bear close scrutiny) I,
____________, do hereby record my last fabric will and testament. Knowing that
____________, (husband, sister, daughter), has no appreciation, or for that
matter knowledge of my extensive fabric collection, which, by the way is
deposited in various places throughout my house for safe keeping. Knowing also
that ____________ has also notified the goodwill store should I precede him to
that great quilt shop in the sky, to pick up and dispose of the aforementioned
collection. Therefore I do WILL this collection and all other collections
related to it, to my dear fellow fabric preservationists of the ____________
(guild, sewing group, charity, etc,). It is my wish that they, upon hearing of
my death and obtaining clear proof that I did not manage (although goodness
knows I tried) to take it with me, will come to my home, before the goodwill
store searches out my collection. That they should rescue said collection and
stack it in my quilting studio, along with my sewing machines, frames, old
buttons, lace, patterns, quilts, dolls and works in progress. And after they has
done that, they should purchase refreshments for all my friends, not yet
departed, which friends are also their friends, and every last one shall be in
that room and they shall hold a wake and say lots of lovely and kind things
about me until they run out and then they shall divide amongst themselves my
wonderful collection. Be forewarned! I shall be hovering over that very spot
until this is done. The ____________ shall then leave this spot and close the
door, leaving the car, house, stocks, bonds and other worldly nonsense to those
who don't understand or know any better.
This is my wish on the matter.

LOL my daughter says she wants it.. she barely sews. I would rather gift my things to a real quilter too.. funny how that is. she would look at it and say these five are fine the rest I cant use. then ya'all come on in and hit it with vengence! However that said I am not going anywhere anytime soon.

On a funny note today I got to dialysis. there next to my chair is an envelope. It says Linda's Liver. ???? I think what the heck is this? I open it its a 1st birthday card with a little bunny on it saying happy bday. I open it all this confetti glitter stuff comes out all over me and its a happy 1st birthday for my transplant. I had a big laugh and smiled a lot over this. I had super low blood pressure today mine is low mind you but they were not thrilled with 62/28 so I had lots of special care (sigh) and came home very tired. good nap day and hey I am 1 tomorrow!!! (imagine all those wrinkles at 1! but I certainly have more hair this time around!)

oh, brat, don't do that! i'm sure you could talk your partner into doing something other that sewing. my partners and i have sometimes deviated ( shock!! bring the epsom salts! bring the fibrilater! bring the quilting will and a pen so i can write my name in as beneficiary). the only rules you can't break are the ones with no rules! besides, we can't both be off swaps for the same month. who will talk? who will be silly? the whole board might splinter and crack!
