I think its a good thing watching them grow up. My oldest is 27. Trouble for so many years so many heart breaks , finally on his own taking care of his own bills, working, paying his child support. Time has a way of fixing a whole lot of thing with them. All three called me yesterday and well it was a really nice phone visit I had with all of them. My middle son always calls me Momma Bear even in front of his friends and not a single one has a hard time saying I love you or hugging me. They are a good group of kids even when they totally mess up.. love is still there.

We are in the process of figuring out where to move to and its been a hard tough time doing this. My two children who live in Oregon are pushing for Oregon. My son in the bay area says you cant leave or I will never see you. My budget is limited to say the least. Jan has offered us to come to Wyoming .. Alex my middle boy said if you need a place you can live with us.. (nice but no way offer) and today we look at a rental here to see if that is even a possibility.. and Steve is now saying if we move out of state he might never see his parents again. so talk about a decision that is serious. I am sure we will make the right decision its just getting to that point. Wish me luck on this! its sooo tough! They all have plus and minus things to consider. argh! package to go out today to queen of 2802!

oh, brat, i know too well what you mean. i left my dying sister to move to texas. years later, i left 2 children in texas and moved to PA. now i have 2 in texas, 1 in london, 1 sister in dc and no parents, they go or i go, but we all live where we have to. if it weren't for skype (which is free) i would be insane by now, and have died from a lonely broken heart!

Thanks everyone for your support. The house today is very cute, detached home which I loved and zero stairs. Straight from parking walk to front door and that is grand for a gimp like me. Laundry was there phew and everything was perfect EXCEPT electric stove. ugh. electric heating (in the mountains? seriously?) but we will see. filled out an application. If the snake as I call her doesnt black lists us from town as she and Steve are NOT on good terms. She is the type with enough pull to do this. I would love to think she is better than that but proven wrong too many times. Hugs you and stabs you in the back two minutes later. not so trustworty but karma and all it will come back. In the mean time all other options are still big options so its not over yet!

Everything will work out the way it is supposed to. Just keep telling yourself that and everything will be OK and you'll be less stressed out over it. If it's meant to be, things will fall together, that's my motto!

I just asked in Anastasia's swap if anyone wanted to do a wallhanging welcome sign swap and got two positives right away so maybe that should be a swap.. anyone think so? just throwing it out there.. I need a welcome hanging thing lol.. I mean I am the one who has that little seasonal flag in the front yard.. so a welcome sign is sorta my cup of tea thought my dh would like a go away door mat so.. maybe one of each? can turn it to say welcome! for good days and Go Away! for other days lol..

saw this little picture and think this reminds me of him:

I've got the non-applique blocks done for 1 part of mine. The applique pieces are cut and interfaced, ready to peel and iron down. I am having a couple issues with the other part of my project, which I'll get worked out even if I have to hand stitch the part that's giving me issues. It's the tight seams that are getting me. My 22 year old Kenmore machine isn't happy doing 1/8" seams.

One of my boyfriend's students is defending his PhD thesis today, so we'll be having a graduation party this evening, which means no sewing for me. It's like losing one of your children sometimes though. Some of the students you get to know really, really well. This student is from Nepal, and has only been home once since he came here to start college 7 years or so ago. He got his bachelor's at another school, but since he came here, he's been like one of our kids. He went to Greece to the conference Dusty and I went to with my boyfriend 2 years ago, and he and Dusty shared a room the whole trip. We changed flights in Rome, so we took a long weekend there for the boys to do some sightseeing, since my boyfriend and I had been the summer before when that same conference was on Ischia Island (it's in the same island chain as Capri, off the coast of Naples) and Dusty didn't get to go. You get to know these students pretty well just from regular interaction, but when you spend vacation time with them, you really get to know them. I can't tell you how many times I've fed that young man since then.

I'm very proud of him. He's been offered a position at the company that my boyfriend's undergraduate class usually visits every year for a plant tour, because their senior design projects are based on work they do there. He's also married since he moved here, and plans to stay in the state at least for now. It's rewarding to see "our kids" do well, and see how the long hours that my boyfriend puts in changes their lives.

Brat you can come to Oklahoma and live by us. Its kinda flat, not sure you would like it and the wind blows ALOT! I would love to be a part of the wall hanging group but I must say no!!! I have alot on my plate with all my current swaps and I'm not motivated right now which makes it worse!

sikesjj how far are you from Yale, OK? My grand daughter and great grand daughter live there. Brat haven't heard from you today, tried to call but no answer, are you okay? Good news for you, I got your quilt quilted for you and it's in the mail. Also found some lemons that you wanted.

A welcome banner hanging on the side of the wall or just inside the door. If I rummaged through all my quilting books/patterns etc I will probably find the book with that sort of pattern. If my memory is correct it was appliqued - flowers and the word welcome. jaba is in line first for her home deco project, and I need to finish my summer fun project.
