black licorice???? don't forget me!!!

years ago we had a pitty labrador cross named cadbury. sweet sweet dog. came home from school (teaching) and walked in to a smoky house. but it didn't smell smokey, so i'm wondering where's the fire? where's the odor? as i head from room to room i see a bit of a white trail leading me on! and in the center of our now shredded waterbed was a plastic bag, the only remnant of a once ferocious 2 lb confectioners sugar beast! cadbury had obviously grabbed the "monster" by the neck and shook it till dead.........all through the house! laughed, cried, wanted to kill the dog, but in the end humor won out! it is a good feeling to know you are protected by a trained sugar mauler! no confectioners sugar sneaking up on my family!!! rotflmao!!

Black licorice. Oh crud, I forgot. Well, he goes back in a month, so I'll get him to get some then. He was going out for the last shopping run this morning.

So, I'm looking at my list & there's still a few people I haven't heard back from. Ladies, could you please touch base with your partner too if you haven't heard from them lately & know what's going on? I'm going to give everyone another day or so to respond before I email again. I didn't send out the last ones with read confirmation, but it looks like I need to this time...

I sent! my partner says she is sending, hopefully to Jaba/Jan because I leave here in just three days! I had yesterday all planned but life had other plans for me. I had to roto rooter my arm again another clog. Oh fun. It is about every 8 to 10 weeks now that I go in for repairs. I think I need a newer model me!

I woke up achy and hungry.. at 4 am. oh bother. a tad early for much of anything. so what do I do? have a cup of noodles and a glass of ice water ..now its almost 5 getting tired again. so maybe one more tiny nap til the world knocks on my door and says get your tail in gear. I sure hate that knock sometimes. I think this is why my Sun and Mondays have been so special to me. I dont have to be up and out the door at 6 a.m. I can take reality a bit slower then especially my Mondays. (those are my weekend days for dialysis) .. I get up, take my sweet time with everything and well its usually after 8 before I even get dressed. I feel like a sloth but what the heck, once a week, be a sloth. I am still up by 5 but no rush. oh what a luxury. I will patiently wait with tapping toes for your man to go back to the old country and get me some licorice. very patiently. tap tap tap...

LOL, you and your patience....tap tap tap. He goes back 7/23-7/31. He goes to Korea 8/17-8/26 too. Yep, it's that time of year. He's got 2 other stateside trips in there too that I know of. It's like this every summer. The trip he comes home from today, if the conference is in a "good" place, I usually go with him too, but Finland, not so much. I didn't go when it was in Poland or London either. Well, London was because of my foot.

I didn't get to sleep until after 1, then woke up at 4:30 for no reason. I turned my nature DVD back on & rolled over. Then I woke up 15 minutes before the alarm. I think I get scared that I've turned it off in my sleep when I wake up restless like that, because I have done that before. I can't get up at 5 am anymore like I used to. I'd get up at 5 central to be at work 40 miles away at 8 eastern time, because it was in the other time zone. At the time, I was in school too, so sometimes I only got like 3 hours of sleep if I had work due that was taking longer than expected. I'm glad that's behind me. When I was looking for a job this time, I didn't even look over in that area. Their unemployment rate is 2.5% higher than ours and I don't need that commute anymore. That's why I went back to school to begin with! I kinda like being in a place where no matter where in the city limits of Auburn I work, I can go home for lunch if I want to. Of course, I miss my friends, since I used to live over in that other area, but I'm getting too old to do that commute every day. So, all of this to say that I share in your need to slow it down in the mornings when possible.

I finally sent my project - jaba should see it by Friday - the first day of summer. I haven't sewn a stitch in a couple of weeks as the eczema on the palm of my hands is pretty bad this time; they keep blistering and weeping; didn't want to make a mess on the project and have to start over - finally gave in and put gloves on to finish on time. Sorry jaba for such a delay. Imagine having 50 papercuts, burns or blisters on the palms of your hands - the itching about drives me nuts on a good day - it's also on both eyelids, behind one ear, both ankles and up the lower part of both legs and a small area of both arms. I have ointments from the doctor but they're not working very good. I'm just thankful that it hasn't invaded private parts yet. Dr once thought my problem might be allergy based but he says it's not severe enough yet to run tests - wants to see if the ointment will work - in the mean time I suffer bouts of itchiness - is that even a word? guess it is now.

I'm grateful that I don't have to commute for my job - I live within five miles of my work. I still like to get up early in the morning - it's my chore time for filling bird feeders and just enjoying the start of the day.

You all have a great day.

Look forward to receiving it Dabbler. Sorry you are so miserable, have a friend that has eczema too, doctor finally gave her an RX in the cream but she also takes a pill of some sort everyday. She says it has helped immensely. Might ask your doc about that maybe you could take it too. Will post a pic when it comes and thanks for sending it to me.

oh Dabbler that sounds horrible. I sure hope they come up with a solution for you. My sister has major skin issues she turns into a giant rash when she touches so many things. arms, face her skin also gets so itchy and red and she is miserable.Lucky for her she is married to a doctor and all his friends are specialists so she simply pops over and gets injections, lotions, pills.. it helps but its a permanent battle for her. Even special gloves (she cant use latex) to wash the dishes kills her so her solution: she has a maid that comes daily and cleans for her. It helps some but she still is covered in rashes. Its not fun at all for anyone I think. If there are pills I sure would find them. BTW doctors say some pretty dumb stuff.. like this will sting a little when it feels just like what they did was shove a giant needle into your skin. I asked the last one and you have had this done.. when exactly? he said well I havent actually and I said thank you it doesnt sting a little it hurts like hell. So your doc says well we will wait a bit or 'its not that bad yet' hasn't worn your shoes. stand up for yourself and say its too bad for me so FIX IT.

projects anyone?? love to see some posted!!

I suffer with this too, and they also tell me that mine isn't bad enough to do anything about it but this greasy ointment that you can't keep on & gets all over your sheets. The miracle pills that you see on TV, you have to have it covering a high percentage of your body, and be moderate to severe in most of that area, before most doctors will consider it. They're very stingy with them, because once you're on those meds, you have to have liver function tests on a regular basis. Mine is triggered by stress, and I have been fighting it since my parents divorced when I was 10. I'll get to the point when it's bad enough on my hands to go to my general practitioner, and he'll tell me it's still not nearly bad enough to do anything about it, then I'll end up in tears because he just doesn't understand what living with this condition is like and how embarrassing it is to have it in a place so obvious, and he'll end up giving in & giving me a steroid shot. I haven't even found a dermatologist who did enough to make it go away completely. The only time I've ever been without it, I had severe anxiety attacks instead, while I was going though my divorce and had some serious issues going on at work at the same time. They'll at least give you zanax for the anxiety attacks....
