I got a super box chuck full of goodies from skaduzy ! She sent me lots of beautiful fabric, a bag of treats for "Shadow" (which he scarfed up and had to then be rationed), a purple thang, wooden spools for my collection, and on and on. It was lots of fun to unpack ( immediatly hiding the chocolate, I might add !). Thanks so much. Sara

It is snowing here but not a lot yet...I have to go see about my mom so will get that over and done...takes about 45 minutes to get to her and then back home again. I can't wait to get back. It sounds like everyone is getting better again...hope so. Sharon Anne take care of your knee...I had that over a year ago and I am out and walking miles again but it still is weaker than the other one. I don't do well at ballgames...the stands are to steep and I used to "run" them and do stairs 2 at a time...those are likely past forever but if that is as bad as it gets it is really no problem!

    Happy Birthday Reeskylr!

Wish I could help you with the paperwork, Krystyna. It must seem never ending.

Be well everyone..that flu is really bad from all I hear. My GS has had it ...poor little guy.. he is only 9 and he lost 8 pounds...he was already thin. This grandma is doing her best to add it back on his little skinny bones!

From the fridgid great lake state, HI!! It is Burrrrry cold here. But that comes with the territory. 40 degrees last week, below zero this week, and the forcast says near 40 again by the first of next week. Argh!! This weather always seems to make the sickness worse, and since my emplioyees all work in small spaces (bus) with all kinds of illness (some people are so bad about keeping sick home), then they come to the office ans spread it here. This year, KNOCK ON WOOD!! we have had it pretty good. (I may regret that statement). We use a LOT of antibacterial spray. The drivers use it on their buses after routes and we use it generously around the office. I think it helps! We used to tease our one dispatcher cause anytime someone came near her area that even looked sick, she would get out the lysol. Then I realized, she NEVER got sick. So now I even do it at home. door handles, faucet handles, light switches. Anyway, those that have been sick, I feel so bad for you. I hear this one is a real bad one.
Krystyna: Man, I can imagine what you are going through. My job deals with the state. I get sooooooooo frustrated with all the paperwork. It took me so long to get all the paperwork done on a grant request that by the time it was done they had added a new requirement, so I still wasn't done. Don't forget to dot your I's and cross your T's. These people act like the money is coming right out of their own pocket. Too bad they didn't watch the really big dollars this closely!!!
I sent 2 packages out this morning. I know, LATE. I took 2 this month cause I had a lot of stuff built up, and doing this really doesn't take up much time, but I just can't seem to get anything done. Too much to do so you work on each a little here and a little there. I need to concentrate on 1 project at a time and get them done!! So, I will sit out February Swap and hopefully get caught up enough that I am not so stressed!! Baby steps. LOL
Anyway, one of pkgs will pass over a large body of water,, so unfortunately it will be a little while getting there. However; I think she will find the package worth the wait. The other doesn't have as far to go and I will check the tracking laater and post the "ETA".
Someone posted on here that they mixed up their 2 packages and sent to opposite partners. I sure hope I got mine right. I caught myself and had to retape the package, when I opened it, I found something that wasn't in the right package. So I thought real hard and I hope I got it right. I had left my info at home. Go figure!!! Anyway, if anyone gets something that seems a little odd, that would be me. LOL I love this swap, it keeps me sain! Of course, that is a matter of opinion.

I still have 18 people who have not mailed and 37 who haven't recieved so I can not start the Feb Swap yet. Sorry. So if you have gotten your Jan goodies make sure you send me a private message to let me know so I take your name off the list. Also let me know WHEN YOU MAIL!! It is very aggriavating to send a message asking if and when you maile or recieved and get an answer back saying yes I got it (not the date like I asked.)

Lori I'm positive I let you know but will send you a PM again. Must be a bad month or something, seems like all the swaps everyone is mailing late, next month has to be better.

Well now that it is "over" I can make mention that I had been summoned
to appear for District Grand Jury Service which until I got there I had no
    idea there was a difference.

It was an interesting experience and glad I had the chance to learn more
about it, but I am glad that I was released and not selected as one of the
"sitting" District Grand Jurors. This took from 8am until 12:15pm today.

WOW I did not realize there were so many who had not received or mailed
yet. Sure hope everyone gets their SP packages SOON.

    Lots of HUGS everyone.

Scoot over you bench warmers! Maybe I will get my package on my birthday, Jan. 26th. That would be pretty nice. My birthday present from my hubby this year is getting my anniversary wedding ring repaired. On 2 different occasions, I lost a diamond out of my ring. Found it both times with dumb luck. Good thing I don't go out much. LOL The jeweler that has it THIS time is the best in the area. He called me today and told me "when you get your ring back, it will be like it did when it was brand new." That makes me happy.

I guess all of you who are having bitter cold ugly temperatures right
doesn't want to hear that our temps was in the low to mid 60's today
and yesterday was slightly cooler. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the
    mid 60's.

But Friday, Saturday & Sunday it is supposed to cool back down into
    the mid 50's.

However since this IS January and is NORMALLY a very cold month
here I am not going to complain to much about it being warm enough
to get by wearing only a long sleeve shirt and jeans.

So all you bench sitters come sit in the park with me (I have a nice park
with a lake across the street from me. There is even a nice gazebo in the
park we can sit under and watch the geese.

You can even bring your dogs and have them OFF leash as long as they
    are under (reasonable) voice command.

I will even have beverages ready coffee, hot chocolate, margaritas, teas,
water, milk, or what ever it is you prefer.

Heck even if your NOT sitting on the bench waiting for a sp package come
    join us.

I'm on my way Quilty. We lived in the Springs for 18 years and I know what a 'balmy' January day is there. We loved them. Don't plant any flowers, though!!

I received a wonderful package from SharonCase today. She will post a picture of the package for me, as my camera and this site do not like each other. I can tell you everything in there will be put to good use. She even sent me basting spray and it is just in time as I just used all mine up. There was muffin basket with a homemade muffin cover, chocolates, fat quarters, basting spray. Thank you again for the package.
    Happy Quilting!
