My blocks should arrive today sewbiz. Thanks for letting me play along this time everyone. Maybe I will get preset for the next swap since I know I have lots more strips to sew up and some white on hand. Will see if time allows me to. Lots of customer quilts to get done and then my show quilts and wearables that I have to finish up first.

Slowly sewing my blocks. Still at 25 made, numerous strips cut, 20 more pinned for final sewing. Cutting more stripes today. I figure I will mail out next Monday early. That should give them time to get to you on time.

I really like what’s been posted.

SBG, I see you have received packages from about half the group. I'm curious--how many packets of 10 are people sending?

Don't know as I haven't opened the packages yet. I'm going to do it all at one time. There will be plenty to swap tho, for those sending 10. Some of the packages feel small, but most feel full, if that helps any.

SBG, What! You've been feeling up the packages? :-p
I hope to finish up this weekend, and have mine in the mail Monday.

Hi Barb! I hope you got to check out some of the pictures that have been posted here!

After this swap we are going to take about a month off, as we have done two of these back-to-back, pretty much. Then will post sign ups again, probably sometime in August. Next time we will be doing scrappy blocks with 4 whites and 5 colors. These are the type that can be used to make Irish Chains and lots of other patterns. Maybe you can find a use for some birthday candies? If you like, I can alert you when the sign ups begin.

Barb, Did you see the blocks NZquilter is making, with the star points in brown and the background scrappy neutrals? It's really cute! Check out post #483 on the first 9patch swap thread. https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...d-t295244.html I agree with her comment, the blocks were just the right size, no problems at all making the larger block out of the 9patch block. Everyone sewed great.

You are too kind, Givio. I haven't been able to sew much these past few weeks, but I did sneak in another block on Friday. Can't wait to see it all come together.

I am really tempted to join Sewbiz's next 9-patch swap. I have several setting ideas, this being an interesting one. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/403283341604701704/

Sorry, for some reason the link isn't showing the one I like the best. Ah well, you get the idea

That 'Chain of Diamonds' is a really cool setting. I just love the work that Barbara Brackman does. She shares so much, a really wonderful quilter with lots of knowledge.

Love the Jacks Chain! I think someone posted theirs somewhere on this site a while back. I seem to remember seeing it.

    Aha! It was PaperPrincess.

On SBG's link, the block with the sashing that created the little shoo fly pattern using the cornerstones is nice. I like the traditional pattern too. Another method for sewing the Y-seams is here: http://www.quilterscache.com/J/JacksChainBlock.html

obrienwv, That top left block sure has colors I like. And that red one looks like 'red for love' and 'my head is in the sky.' Nice blocks!

Mine are done. I hope to get to the post office on Tuesday before work. I went and got my Priority envelope last week.

I have 3 sets left to do which I hope to finish by tonight. My personal deadline to mail it 6/20. I still have a bunch to size but I am not expecting any problems there.
Jack's chain is way out of my comfort zone but that is not to say I wouldn't try one block. What a beautiful quilt!

Happy to say they are all pieced and now I just need to size them! (They would be sized already if I stopped playing on Pinterest looking for ideas of what to do with them!)

    obrienwv -- beautiful colors!

Thanks for the lovely picture, O’Brien. We haven’t seen one in a while. Your blocks are so pretty.

Givio, LOL. You are great at making up names and stories for the blocks!

So swappers, don’t forget to send me your tracking numbers when you ship. Thanks!
