maybe those are the fq swap??? pretty fabrics though!

I guess I am just one of the unshakeables. I was also fortunate .. my house had almost zero damage two or three ornaments for Halloween fell off my mantle. 7.0 earthquake. My sister her tv flew off the stand bookshelf tumbled and well she was terrified of those things. My hubby at the time was a structural engineer and he loves earthquakes and was well .. in big business when they come around. He also knew exactly what type of land our house stood on and what type of shaking we could expect. No such thing as an earthquake PROOF house but there are earthquake resistant buildings. We were safe there. And you made me laugh with the which kid to go get.. that came to mind often to me as mine were all over the place playing sports. if one hit.. which one do I go get first? interesting thought isn't it?

block making today! pulling out my holiday fabrics and then will pick a block that works with them! yahooooo!!!

Oksewnsew, you have my kind of luck. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is always faced with some kind of mess. My little white golden retriever got skunked one morning as we were going to the barn. I saw her take off towards the woods and just in front of her was some little black fuzzy critter that I was hoping was stray cat, but I caught glimpse of white on the tail and I knew it wasn't a kitty. Maggie barked once and then turned and came toward me shaking her head and blinking her eyes. Yep, in the face, I guess that's right at squirt height. Luckily, I escorted Maggie back to the house and put her in the back yard until I tended the horses. The only thing I had was a large can of petite dices tomatoes that I had bought for chili too. So she got rubbed good with tomatoes, I think the acid smell of the tomatoes cut the skunk. It didn't completely neutralize the skunk smell, thankfully I have some spray called Nature's Miracle that I use to spritz them in the summer - my dogs swim and fish daily in the summer and it's not good to shampoo them weekly so they always have a wet dog smell. Rubbed the Nature's Miracle in and you never would have known she was skunked. Now I wonder if she saw a skunk again it she would remember not to chase it?? I feel your pain!

Two beautiful blocks. They are going to look great in your future projects. Are you collecting only certain color string blocks?

Wow, these are gorgeous in the two colors. Very bold and striking. They are going to look fantastic in a 2 color quilt.

RFC, my Dad always called skunks 'stinkin' kitties', good name for them! This one was potent, the smell is still in the are where he got Zoe`! Even after a hard, long rain yesterday evening & nite, and cold weather. A quilter mentioned putting moth balls along the fence, skunks don't like them.. But, I feed the squirrels and birds, not sure if that wud keep them away. She also mentioned, later, that orange or lemon peels spread around there keeps them away. I took some Real Lemon juice and sprayed it around down there, seemed to help.. Next time (which who knos) I'll use the hydrogen peroxide and Dawn to bath her..They say the hydrogen per. breaks down the oil in the scent and the Dawn washes it all away...The first time she got it, couple yrs ago, she chased the darn thing, and got it all over, this time she didn't see him but when she got up from her squat, guess he thot she was coming after him and UP went that darn tail!! right in the face. The full body one was awful to get rid of..I went thru a whole BIG can of mater juice and doggie soap. It is without a question the worst odor to remove...whew!!!
