November 2019 Pincushion Swap
#23
Thanks, I just thought it was adorable in the magazine. The pattern called for felt or felt wool. I did not have any so I used a heavy flannel. In making it again, I plan to use a bit of interfacing.

I received my package today and to say I am thrilled is an understatement. If 2 lovely Christmas pincushions weren't enough, I received one of the over the shoulder kitchen towels. I have wanted to make one myself for a long time. I still use my mothers old terry cloth apron and thought these were such a great idea. I am just not sure who my pin cushion buddy is. No card. Just an address in Kentucky. Love it and many thanks.

Nonnie,
I am the guilty individual. The pincushions were supposed to look like Christmas candy. The kitchen boa was designed by one of our club members after seeing them on Esty for $19.95. She drew her own pattern and I made some changes to it as well, primary in the construction. I made almost 20 of them and gave them all as gifts. Sorry about the card, I was already running late and I lost the card, as they say, "Time was of the essence" so it was mailed without a card. Please forgive me. I have gotten feedback from someone I gave a Boa to before Thanks-giving and she said it was great having it around her neck -- it was so handy. Enjoy both the pincushions and the Boa and have a great Holiday!

Aurora, I thought it might be you! I love the boa and it will be used. I have been wanting to make some. I love the curved edge. So many I have seen are straight. My package jingled as it was being opened adding to the excitement. I was actually just using the other pin cushion you sent me the other day. It has such a nice weight and I love the yarn center. It will be fun it have a seasonal pin cushion to use at Christmas. Thank you again for sharing your talents.

Nonnie,
It actually hangs around the back of your neck and hangs down on both sides in the front.
