I wish we lived closer (maybe we do?) as I'd love to help you with this, now huge, project... As I stood looking at all the batik's in the fabric store, it was exciting to think of what I might receive back... thank you for your work and time...

Hello every one..

You all should have verified that I have your name and and the correct amount of sets listed after your board name.. Please contact me as soon as possible if you see any errors as Id like them corrected before the sets are sent in...

By now everyone should have their fabrics ready to get cut, or already cut and ready to be mailed- (I will send a PM with my addy soon.. Hang tight).. As this is my second ever to host a swap I am making a requirement as to aid me in 'trying' not to duplicate your squares... Please staple/tape a piece of your fabric on the outside of the baggie.. Look at pic below. this will help me remember who sent in what.. We have ALOT of sets coming in and I think this will be quite useful for me.. ALSO I am requesting a group of sample pieces of each of the fabric pieces being sent in as well.. see second pic.. the ones I have shown in the pic are aprox 1x3 tiny strips pieces from squaring up my fabric.. Once again hopefully to help me not give you back your squares.. any questions please post or PM me..

KarenR 11-10-2010 04:10 PM

Question - Do we get one of the 12 blocks back?

I have never done a swap before. I'm excited and hope I get in.

you might.. as im trying to figure out a way not to, but pls don't be disappointed if you do.. this is my second swap ever guys so please bare with me..

luvTooQuilt 11-10-2010 06:40 PM

Ok,

Everyone on the list should have rec'd a pm from me with a recap pf the swap and my mailing information.. If you have not please forward a pm and Ill get you that information to you..

Also IF there are any question please, please, please ask.. I would rather you ask questions than me return your squares for not following the rules...

Also my dinky lil Post office could use the revenue so concealed cash for the postage would be greatly appreciated. Yes more work for me but it too will boost a small portion of economy to my dinky town..

Thanks everyone. I look forward to seeing what ya'll sent in..

Happy Quilting!!!!

Hey we have faith in you, if not you wouldn't be getting my awesome fabric! Ha! This is the 2nd of many to come for you. You're doing a great job and hope after this one is over and your taking a deep breath, you wouldn't mind doing something on the lines of Oriental blocks. I have some beautiful material!
Now if that ain't a hint I don't know what is! HA! Seriously, think positive girl, you're doing great!! Take your time, we'll be patient!

just fold, squish and tape the envelope, dont be bashful on the packing tape.. if it fits it ships.. and if your PO gives you a hard time go to another PO..

luvTooQuilt 11-12-2010 08:40 AM

I need three more sets.. any volunteers to add another set??

zjsquiltymomma 11-12-2010 08:56 AM

I'll add another set. So that makes 3 sets for me if there's an extra still available.

3699quilter 11-12-2010 09:16 AM

I can go to JoAnn's at lunch today and get another set, so that makes (4) for me.

gardner 11-12-2010 09:23 AM

I too can get another set if you still short one... Just let me know... I'll check the board later this afternoon and see if there's an answer and I can pick up the fabric on my way home.

sunrise450 11-12-2010 09:28 AM

If you still need another set now or later, just let me know. That would make 4 for me. Please PM me to let me know!

Ok - Gardner & 3699Quitler I have added another set to each of your swaps.. thanks for volunteering..

I think Im good for now.. thanks everyone..

Crossing fingers that everyone who signed up will send in their squares as I have every set accounted for..

Just a reminder EVERYONE !!!!!!!..

Please, please pleeeese double check your squares for rotary accuracy, selvages, wonkyness and count.. I have almost 100 swap sets coming in and I am relying on each of you to check your own work... I will NOT have time to measure each and every one of these squares so please don't expect me to or ask me to. If I question ONE of your squares I will not swap the ENTIRE set.. I will not go thru and pick and chose the good ones.. So don't ask me to..

Sorry but there are ALOT of swappers/sets coming thru and this will be time consuming as it is already.. I am going to be strict on this swap... Its not fair to those who took the time to follow the rules to the T and others who threw it together with poorly cut, miscounted, selvaged squares..

If you have any questions please ask now, as I will reject sets as I see fit..

OK with all that said and done..

I am SOOOOOO excited!!!!! I just love, love, LOVE batiks.. Cant wait to see them all.. and begin my projects!!! I will have a lul on the swap for a month or two So quilting here I Come!!! FYI- the next one will be in January 2011..

Happy Quilting everyone!!!

gardner 11-12-2010 12:11 PM

My 3 sets are in the mail as I type, happily on the way to Luv's house! I hope you like them. Luv, thank you for letting me swap on such a short notice.

Momma_K 11-15-2010 02:58 PM

I ironed and cut, bagged and have the sample along with. I've got a pulled muscle in my neck or I would have ran to the post office today. Oh well, it's raining and didn't feel like getting out anyway. :XD:
I hope mine are festive enough. I think whoever gets them will like them, it was hard to choose which to send. I did have a few I didn't want to use, just not pretty enough. Ha! "When you care enough to send the very best!" Ha!

I know what you mean. I have chosen some of my favorites, and boy! I didn't realize how hard it was going to be to part with some of them! LOL

moonrise 11-15-2010 04:14 PM

Mine should be going out first thing in the morning. :)

I had to order the fabric for this swap, since I normally wash all of mine as soon as I buy it. I picked some really fun, bright colors, and it was hard to let go of it! In fact, there was one that was so yummy I almost ate it!

I'm with you!! And I should ask: I found some absolutely GORGEOUS batik that I loved so much I bought the rest of the bolt. It's these luscious shades of indigo and royal and deep, deep teal blues. I can't get enough of it!! It isn't "festive", but it's the prettiest I've seen in a long time. Should I include some of that or choose something else? Ladies, you decide.

Well I can't say mine are really festive but they are very pretty. I had to use what I had on hand, the closest QS is at least 20 miles away. But I did order these off ebay about a year ago and I fell in love with them. I would say do what you feel is best for you. IF you truely like them as much as you say you do them by all means, keep them! I mean, no one else knows what they are missing and you will if you give them away. Soooo....up to you Sis!

luvTooQuilt 11-16-2010 09:22 AM

Momma K is right.. We wont know if what you were planning on sending in was not your original pick in the first place...I love all batiks. No matter what you send, WE WILL LOVE.. especially if the members are anything likeme .. Cause I LOVE EM ALL!!!!!

Mine are not too festive but I think they are beautiful. I hope whoever receives them thinks so too. I bought an extra 1/2 yard of each one, that way I could chop the rest up and send them without crying! I hate to send the last of any thing I have. Hmmmmmmmmm sounds kind of shelfish I guess.

maine ladybug 11-16-2010 02:21 PM

Mine went in the mail today. Can't wait to see what I get back in December.

oldswimmer 11-16-2010 02:25 PM

well, I am glad to read all these comments! Mine are more tame than festive, but beautiful! They went out in the mail this morning. I love them...hope you all will too! I am excited to get them back in the mail.....will have to find a scrappy quilt to make with them.
