Would like to finish this morning so DH can drop off the package on his way to get a new battery for DD car.

Stashbusters is ANYTHING from your stash that you might have outgrown, lost interest, or tastes have changed that you would like to pass on to other members ( 100% unwashed cotton- no flannel, no homespun, no holiday) It will always be EVERY JAN as it avoids anyone from buying fabric after the holidays.. Most people are spent after the holidays and this is just a nice way to keep the swap going and thin out our stash of older fabs..

hmmmm, i may have an idea for a swap- HOLIDAY ALL YEAR LONG !! any holiday fabric for ANY holidays throughout the year..

Went through the Stars & Stripes swap and blues & yellows swap tonight. I sorted and will be using ALL of the Stars & Stripes between all 3 of baby boy's teachers. I'm so excited. Got a good stash to go through to pick from thanks to you. Will be using ALL black & whites in my sister-in-law's Mom's quilt. Thank you for doing these swaps!!! They are AWESOME!!!! You are a fantastic hostess!!!

Someone posted pictures of seven old quilt tops they aquired. One was a spiderweb? I thought it would be really cool for the blue/yellow twist we just finished.

SheriR 09-10-2011 08:05 PM

Also, is there a twist for the November "Holiday" swap?

You too - I'm right there with you. Also glad that my mailing time SHOULD be short,,

As for patterns to use with the 10 1/2 inch Layer Cakes - I remember Missouri Star Quilt Co. had a tutorial for a table runner.

sapdoggie 09-11-2011 05:42 AM

Thanks marybrace for letting me know I am not the only one who can't always follow a straight line of the ruler.

Somehow my hand wants to " turn right " - must be a hidden garmin somewhere in the room gving directions

I did finally figure out the problem was being caused mostly by my fabric choice. The weave was off and caused undo stretching and uneven cutting.

Off to do the last set in different fabric. The "bad squares will become mug rugs.

Yosamitesa 09-11-2011 08:01 PM

1st quilt cut and finally paired up. Holy cow that was hard. The next one will be the darker colors and blues. Should be easier, fingers crossed. Hope to sew later this week. Hopefully I can get some good pics. ;)

I found a Civil War Cot Quilt pattern and am using it to go by to make an unequal nine patch with my Civil War Repros. It will be for my older brother.

My latest issue of American Patchwork Quilting (?I think thats the magazine!?) had a very easy pattern using print rectangles and white squares, using the 1930's fabrics. So I am going to use that easy pattern to make a quilt for my husbands 16 y/o autistic neice. I think she will adore the 1930's fabrics! And I need to have that one completely done by Thanksgiving. :)

I will not be able to mail my package today. I just learned that my SIL's granddaughter was killed over the weekend in a 4-wheeler accident. She was 14, the same age as one grandson and my granddaughter.
Will mail package in the next day or so.
