Thanks for your bio, Mrs. Sherbert. Your candy quilt is just beautiful. May your husband be safe wherever he is serving. And thanks to your family for his service!

mrshalibut 03-08-2014 06:40 AM

Thank you, Let's Quilt! I got your squishie yesterday. It has some beautiful colors, favorites of mine. : )

By the way, I love receiving these early gifts. No need to wait for my birthday to mail them if you don't want to! It gives me an excuse to lay all the squares out every time I receive an envelope. I think I want to make a quilt on which one color blends into the next and so on all the way down. What am I saying? I'll have enough candies by the end to make a few different quilts!

djmat 03-08-2014 05:18 PM

Jarenie, I have'nt heard if my charms made it to you, mailed on Feb 28th. Is everything alright?

benndm 03-08-2014 08:26 PM

Mailed my March birthdays today. Hope they arrive safely. Happy Birthday Jarenie, JoDee, Billie and Jessica.

Thank you, benndm!

I also mailed my March bdays yesterday. 91 cents, but I'm just going to use two stamps in case it goes up a little. I just used a regular stationary envelope, with cardstock and fabric inside a sandwich bag. Reinforced two with tape, but the postal lady grabbed the third before I could tape it. Please let me know how it is when received.

I'm up to my... eyeballs in alligators right now, but will write my bio soon.

barbarakibler23 03-09-2014 05:33 PM

hope so bjsmith ...going to a business conference that is there ...can't remember where we are staying but it looks beautiful. Have you heard of South Hill Designs? I am an artist with them.

Mrshalibut said "I'm up to my... eyeballs in alligators right now, but will write my bio soon." sounds interesting!

Getting ready to send out my first two packages later this week... I hoped to get closer to the actual birthdays.

Do we have any favorite pattern ideas for these candy squares?

WOW can't believe we are starting a new year of candies. I loved all my candies from last year and will get busy cutting everything for this year. I did a PDF of the the swappers like I did last year. It really helped me stay on track on when I mailed. It was great when it was my turn to receive candies I could mark down who I had received from so I could thank everyone properly. I have attached the list to share with everyone. Happy Swapping!!!

Thanks for the PDF, this is really helpful.

Mrs Sherbert, your candy quilt is really great. What a fun pattern.

I am planning on getting mine in the mail on Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

Jannie 03-11-2014 07:16 AM

Hi Birthday Gals
I mailed out all March B'day candy yesterday. Enjoy your special month.

mrs.sherbert 03-11-2014 07:28 PM

My candy should be in the mail any day now.
I did receive two more fun BIRTHDAY packages from Benndm (CUTE pincushion, THANKS!...yes I opened it... :) ) mrshalibut(love the name!)

Anoka Quilter 03-11-2014 09:18 PM

Question, how do you make the candies stay in place without slipping. Got everything cut and nicely laid out so I could mail tomorrow and everything fell to the bottom of the envelope.

I put mine in a sandwich baggie in two rows and that held them. Someone else wrapped hers in saran wrap and they stayed in place.

Hardened, did you get your charms yet, every one else has
Cindy

Busy, busy week, BD girls packages are ready to go, but I may have to wait till monday. Have some pressing commitments that are due by Friday.

barbarakibler23 03-12-2014 07:08 AM

I lay them in rows on a card then cover them with plastic wrap (saran wrap) and everything stays nice and if dry if that would be a concern.

Looks like March is going well with packages been sent and received. Birthday girls PLEASE make sure you post a thank you here to let enquiring minds know that their package has been received. :)

REMEMBER to enter in each contest the after a birthday you MUST have sent and they receive by their birthday. This month we have two in a row so I will do a contest on March 20th for Jarenie's birthday and on March 21 for Mrshalibut's birthday. AND YES the birthday girl can play along with the contest!

mrs.sherbert 03-12-2014 12:44 PM

Looks like my auto word select is at it again,
I just didn't notice it changed what I typed before I posted. Sometimes I have to fight with it before it lets me type what I want.
I meant Jarenie.
sorry about that,
cindy

Thank you, Jannie. I received your package today. I absolutely LOVE the extra quarter. You were so sweet to send it. I first thought I should cut it and pass it on in 2 1/2" squares, but I may need to keep it all to myself!

Havplenty 03-12-2014 09:28 PM

A question for this group? Would you consider the same print in different colors dups or different charms?

I hope the vote goes with charms! I've got a few FQ's I'm cutting up with the same pattern but different colors. I therefore vote different! :D

Bullock2us 03-13-2014 02:06 AM

I also vote different- I did the same. Mine are going out today-hope all the birthday girls enjoy them!

barbarakibler23 03-13-2014 06:06 AM

ahwu 03-13-2014 12:42 PM

Bullock2us 03-13-2014 03:43 PM

Sent all 4 of mine out today so that I don't forget. Happy Birthday ladies!!! Hope you enjoy!!

Lstew2212 03-13-2014 05:20 PM

I vote different.

I am proud and happy to say I now have my sewing machine home safe and sound with me. She had to go to the sewing machine doctor about two weeks ago. I was really having sewing withdrawals. i didn't think that was possible. Works like a charm. I will be having a sewing weekend. TGIF

bjsmith57 03-13-2014 05:37 PM

I received some more squares today from Ahwu...the colors are beautiful and the handmade card is awesome.

Thanks so much.
Billie

mrshalibut 03-13-2014 06:40 PM

I got squares from nls today. Thank you! I think after March I'm going to go through withdrawal. I so look forward to coming home and checking the mail!

Yipeee for you!!!!! I was so unhappy the day I had to take mine in. Then the guy put a new free motion foot on and it fixed my problem. Did you know he said I wore it out!!!! I'm not pro or really very good, but I did sew something like 48 quilts last year!!!:D

sewbizgirl 03-13-2014 07:58 PM

I mailed out my first two packages to the first birthday girls today. Has anyone heard anything from Jarenie? She should be getting loads of packages right now, but i haven't seen her post.

oneteappot 03-14-2014 06:35 AM

I also say different! Hope to get to the post office today.
Laurel

Anoka Quilter 03-14-2014 10:20 AM

Got my first two packages in the mail yesterday for the birthday girls.

mrshalibut 03-14-2014 06:39 PM

Received squares today from 3 people! Thanks to quilter day-by-day, Linda Brandt, and Karen House (but I don't know your screen names!). Karen, when yours arrived, it was open because the sticky stuff on the flap didn't hold, but everything was still inside and the colors were beautiful! Maybe reinforcing the closure with tape would be more safe. Thank you all for the birthday wishes and kind notes. : )

Havplenty 03-15-2014 07:24 AM

All of my March birthday squares were mailed today. Now I am off to the local quilt show. Have an enjoyable day today ladies.
