nicely done

sewbizgirl 06-08-2020 09:01 PM

Yaaaaaaay.... since I'm the one who will be getting it first.

maryb119 06-09-2020 04:52 AM

I am going to send along a label I would appreciate if every one would sign it. I have done 2 round robins before this one and it is nice to look at the label and see who worked on it and where it traveled. It's a nice memory to go with it.

sewbizgirl 06-09-2020 11:09 AM

Great idea, Mary! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/thumbup.png

sewbizgirl 06-10-2020 10:55 AM

So, Reba, IceBlossom and LeeAnn... How's it going? Can't wait to see what you are doing for your centers.

givio 06-11-2020 04:17 AM

I'm still working on my applique. Maybe an update tonight after work today! I hope to see news from you girls then. :-)

I finished the other two sides of the applique. Here's how my center looks now. I'm thinking about adding more, but maybe not. I'm still hoping to mail on Saturday.

sewbizgirl 06-11-2020 07:25 PM

How beautiful, givio! Love those Heather Bailey fabrics. Hope you can mail it Saturday ..... so I can start playing with it!

maryb119 06-12-2020 02:19 AM

It's beautiful, givio!

givio 06-12-2020 03:20 PM

Thanks, Mary. :-)
I like yours too. We are having fun, aren't we?

Ladies--I will be following along watching your progress. The centers that are done so far are great and I can't wait to see the quilts develop each month. I hope that there will be another RR starting in the fall/winter so I can join. :) I did a medallion "add a border" type quilt along here on the boards many years ago and it is one of my favorite quilts. I still haven't quilted it because I keep going back and forth on if I want to make it bigger....

sewbizgirl 06-12-2020 08:09 PM

Very pretty quilt top, Carrie! Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you!

I just realized my center block is the same Mary chose for her RR center block!!

sewbizgirl 06-13-2020 09:36 AM

Good morning RRers.... We now have two people on a waiting list for this Round Robin:

1) carriem
2) cuppy

Since there is still interest in the RR, perhaps you two could start a second one, and find a few more participants? That way you wouldn't have to wait. Otherwise, as givio said, we will probably be starting a new on in Dec, when this one is finished.

So it is! They look so different with the different colorways.

carriem, That's beeeautiful! Thanks for sharing it. Wow, that center is something I like more the more I see it. I should put it on my to-do list.
Well, I decided to add the last bit of applique I was dreaming of to my center. Now, I've finished. We will see what is added next. Time to mail it. Fly, little robin, fly!

You are so right! I didn't have enough fabric to make all 4 corners the same so I chose to make it scrappy by using a different color in each corner. Yours is so pretty!

I would be interested in doing another round robin n December. I love the challenge.

travelinggramma 06-13-2020 02:54 PM

Oh I just saw this - would love to join a RR again. - Cuppy? Carriem? anyone else? PM me.

Got your PM and replied! I am in!! :)

givio 06-13-2020 06:27 PM

Two or three more needed for a second group-- Hello? Anyone?

Me too, Mary, I'd like to do a RR again in December, :-) Maybe we can just keep this thread going!

sewbizgirl 06-13-2020 07:13 PM

Givio, your center looks so balanced now with the additional applique. Love the shape! I've been pulling out fabrics that I think might go with it. When it gets here, we'll see.

Very exciting that another group is forming! Maybe we can refer to it as RRII, to keep it straight. Hope a few others will want to play along. Don't forget to show us your pictures.

sewbizgirl 06-13-2020 07:16 PM

Reba, has my center medallion made it to you yet?

Bugaroo 06-14-2020 05:28 AM

Oh my gosh! Ladies your centers are wonderful.
I have participated in several swaps but never a RR. I would love to join your group as a newbie either now or in December. Please add me the list.

carriem 06-14-2020 07:23 AM

Bugaroo--I am sure travelinggramma will add you to the list and if cuppy is in, we will be up to 4. Just need 2 more.

sewbizgirl 06-14-2020 09:15 AM

Yay, group II is coming together with the addition of Bugaroo.... I'm sure this thread will catch the eye of another 'player' or two. The best way to keep our thread at the top where it is most likely to be seen, is to post in it, so keep talking ladies!

travelinggramma 06-14-2020 11:48 AM

I will be more than happy to gather the information for each player in group 2. And even with 5 rounds it makes a good quilt! I am adding that it does not have to be square as someone already wanted to send a rectangle. But the largest edge needs to be 18". How does that sound?

carriem 06-14-2020 01:42 PM

travelinggramm--yes 5 would be a good lap quilt too! I am getting excited. Trying to decide what I want to do for my center block...I should have some time to sew this week. I have an order for a few cards I need to finish up but those won't take too long.

LeeAnn 06-14-2020 05:00 PM

20" is fine with me! That is absolutely beautiful!

sewbizgirl 06-14-2020 05:04 PM

Thank you... I'm excited about working on all of them!

LeeAnn 06-14-2020 05:07 PM

I have everything ready to start. Colonoscopy last Friday and root canal after work tomorrow, electrical issues over the weekend. After tomorrow I will get mine ready and I will be sure to post before I send it out. You girls are looking good! Can't wait to get started!

LeeAnn 06-14-2020 05:12 PM

That looks great givio! I really like how it is coming together.

sewbizgirl 06-14-2020 05:29 PM

Ugh LeeAnn... not pleasant things! I know you will be glad to have them behind you (pun not intended!). On to the fun stuff, Quilting!

Macybaby 06-15-2020 07:24 AM

I'd like to join if there is still room.

carriem 06-15-2020 07:43 AM

Macybaby--there is room in the 2nd group we're starting soon. travelinggramma (Janet) is putting together the list.

sewbizgirl 06-15-2020 08:00 AM

Yeah! Macybaby is a great addition! So, that brings group two to five members or six?

travelinggramma 06-15-2020 08:50 AM

Yes - we have 5 for the" late starter" group!
Travelinggramma
Carriem
Cuppy
Bugaroo
MacyBaby

I just sent PM. Get your centers ready and post here. Once I have your information I will send you the name and address of who you are sending to. Plan on having your center to the next person by July 1st. That will give you two weeks. We can keep our circle to 5 and have our quilt back the first of December before the holiday.

Just picked out some fabrics for my center...what do you think: yellow or no yellow??

Bugaroo 06-15-2020 09:42 AM

Carriem, I like the yellow. It gives it some pop!! Kind of like sunshine and blue sky's!

Macybaby 06-15-2020 11:25 AM

Yea! I'm in! I'll send my info via email when I get home tonight.
I love medallion quilts, and think this is going to be very fun!
