Thank you everyone for keeping up with each other and those wandering birthday squishes. I will get y'all checked off my list when my laptop returns. I do remember one from Cuppy arriving for one of you. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wink.png For the moment my hack world is calm. Tomorrow will be a real test when two automatic transactions are scheduled. Fingers crossed and praying for grace and safety over my account. Looks like the week-end before my machine can return. Ah well, I will continue with the semi-dinosaur that I am using at the moment. I am grateful to have it. Sewed some his afternoon but not with the 2.5's https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/frown.png

That's so crazy that you got hacked! I hope your machine comes back safe and sound without loss of any data. That's such a stressful situation. Sounds like they are getting quite sophisticated, I don't like the sound of that... I have my envelopes ready to go whenever you get the addresses back. :) I will be praying that your accounts are all safe and sound.

WMUT -- Any kind of hack even if nothing was stolen is a major invasion of privacy I hope you have a silver lining to draw strength on from that awful situation. Thank you for letting us know that the addresses will be sent out soon. I'll use this extra time to start taping the edges of my cards as Sewbizgirl suggests, to make sure they don't split horribly into the future.

Thank you for the kind thoughts everyone. It looks like all my financials are now safe! Ta-Da! My laptop is in the hands of the Best Buy Geek Squad and I was assured that all data will be intact and only the bad stuff will be cleaned up. At some point one just needs to trust someone. I do have a silly moment to share. I teach part-time at a university so when this happened I contacted our technology help folks and oh, they were so nice, kind and understanding. But... and this is the silly part. They would be happy to schedule a time to clean my compute after the last week of classes and exam week because they are busy now. What? I am a faculty member who is teaching and I need access to all of my classes and data on my laptop to finish the semester for my students! Doubt the students would consider this an appropriate solution. I laughed at them on the phone, poor manners I know, and said that was not acceptable and said good bye. Off to the Geek Squad I went. Fingers crossed that I get a call from GS by the week-end. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png

Yes, if you are using lighter weight envelopes tape the edges. After a year of taping, I gave up using them and use the 6X8 brown envelopes and only tape the flap down. If you are using the larger envelopes with the metal closure, take it off the metal clasp. My post office folks say that they tend to get stuck in the machinery that sorts the mail. I search out envelopes without the metal closure at the Dollar Store. They come in packages of either 4 or 6. To date never had a problem.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Hello everyone!
Sorry I have been out of commission. I want to thank everyone for the Get Well greetings and prayers. That has been very much appreciated. I broke the left leg which is also the same leg I had 3 consecutive knee replacements. It will take another two months to heal, but I am anxious to get back to my birthday candy swapping! I am leaving rehab in a week, so I can get back to the fun putting together birthday greetings.
Thanks again for being such a thoughtful group!
Crispy/Judy
