$26/yard? OUCHIES! Let's see, I got a remnant that was 75"x 64" in Denmark for about $6.25. There was another that was about that size that was double that though. The label showed it'd been in the remnants for about 6 months and they still wouldn't come off the price at all though. I'll have to grab one of the others I got and see what the prices were on them.

There, clothing is expensive, but thread is cheap! I got a 2000 meter spool of really good thread at Christmas for $4. Baby clothes there are about 2-1/2x's the price of what they are if you go to Ross or Marshall's though. So, when my boyfriend's brother and sister-in-law come here to visit, they usually bring 1 change of clothes and the day after they arrive they hit both stores and stock up. Then they come back in 1-2 years and do it again! We went and spent about $500 picking up baby clothes for their new arrival. They asked that we "clean them out" from sizes birth to 24 months, so we did. Got some great deals there and have taken advantage of some good sales on Carter's web site too. We got one outfit half price & it would have been almost $50 if they'd bought something similar there.

So, the SIL is keeping an eagle eye on the fabric store for me for cool remnants. There's going to be more to come! (That reminds me, I still have fabric in my car that my boyfriend doesn't know I bought off the yard sale group on Facebook....oops!)

I'm checking posts almost daily watching for all the runners yet to be shipped - hoping for inspiration to complete another tabble runner or topper.
Fabric prices have been going up at local quilt shops but nothing like NZ - ouch that one hurts the pocketbook.
Girlfriend and I usually do shop hops around our area and participate in the big state shop hop. It finally dawned on me that the bundle of fabric reward for visiting all the stores participating in the hop could be purchased several times over for the price of gas we spent getting to all the different shops; I quit smoking almost six years ago and all that money I wasted on my physical health is now spent on my mental health - I buy fabric and notions - it was the perfect trade off, now I have something special to show for my money.

Well ladies, I need a little advice. According to my delivery confirmation, my table piece (not a rectangle because of the recipients table design) arrived on 1/10/13. I have not heard from the recipient as yet and a picture has not been posted. I know how busy some people get so I am not being pushy. I have sent a PM to her this morning. If I do not receive an answer by tomorrow, should I post the picture I took? Just asking for your advice. Thanks.

Sure, we want to see what you sent. And she should let you know that she received it, but unfortunately that doesn't always happen.

We are having a snow storm, I had to leave and pick up my two teenage children from school. When I returned,. I had a very nice PM from dconroy84 telling me how nice she thought the centerpiece was and that the hexagon was perfect for the dimentions of her table. I am going to post a picture of the items I sent.
