April Secret Pal Swap Closes March 31st 4:00pm CST
Description: This is a monthly secret pal swap. There is a sign up every month, and you can choose whether or not to participate each month. You will get a different partner every month, and the person you send to will be different than the person you receive from. 1) You Need To Send The Hostess A Private Message When You Mail Your Package To Your Secret Pal. 2) Once You Get Your Package From Your Secret Pal, You Need To Send A Private Message To The Person Who Sent The Package To You Thanking Them And Acknowledge That You Did Receive It. 3) After You Have Thanked Your Secret Pal, You Will Need To Send Me A Message Telling Me That You Have received Your Package So That I Can Keep Accurate Records. Failure To Send These Three Messages Is Reason Enough To Be Banned From The Next Month's Swap. Packages need to be mailed out by April 15th, this is a Firm deadline (Not a suggestion). If you know that you can not mail by that date, Please Do Not Sign Up. You can send your package as early as you'd like! If you are sending an international package it will need to be mailed by the 10th of April. Due to mail processing, our mail dates for international mailing has to be as early as possible! No later than the 10th of April. It can take many weeks to reach your SP so any delays in mailing can delay the start of the next month’s sign-up sheet being posted. For international mailing it is very important that you mark your parcel as a 'Gift'. Usually on the Customs Declaration there's a box you can check. Also, the value should be $10 only (even if you send diamond necklace, lol). I know that each and every time the wonderful generous gifts are far in excess of this amount, but if the true value is listed (and it's over the allowed 'Gift' amount) The person receiving the package is liable for Import Duty, Tax and a Handling fee. This can cost the person receiving as much as $40 As an aside, padded envelopes are much cheaper to send compared to small boxes. I'm not sure if that's true for every carrier or not. Our International board members are welcome to join the swap. You must have a phone # or email to sign up Screen Name: Real Name: Address: Apartment number/lot number: City, State, Zip: Favorite Color(s): Least favorite color(s): The fabric color I am looking for is: Your favorite notion/fabric line: Least favorite notion/fabric line: Brand of sewing machine: Do you have an embroidery machine? Do you hand embroider? How long have you been sewing/quilting? What are you currently working on? Would you like to receive gently used items (templates, patterns, appliqué books, orphan blocks, magazines)? Besides quilting, what do you like to do? What types of books do you like to read? Do you have Allergies (Smoke/Pets/Fragrance)? Do you have Allergens (Smoke/Pets)? If you have a pet what kind? I do/do not celebrate (Holidays): I like to collect: The One thing I want the most is: I would not like to receive: Favorite candy/cookies/snack: Least favorite candy, etc. Favorite beverage: Tell a little about yourself &/or your quilting: Can you mail international? email address: phone number: There is a 10 dollar budget for this swap. Items from your stash or homemade items are not included in the $10 limit. Postage isn't included in the ten dollars. The most important thing to remember with the budget is to have fun, but please do not spend more than $10. Sign ups will close the 31st of March, and names will be paired on the 1st of April and sent out no later than the 2nd of April (I will try to have all names out on the 1st.) 2. If your pal does not receive her/his package within a reasonable time (7 days max from mailing deadline for within the same country. Then I will need tracking information, 15 days for between countries. There are exceptions, but I must be notified of any delays in sending on your end). Failure to comply may result in the following: Being banned for the next month This is why it is imperative that you keep the hostess informed on any mailing issues. Along with negative feedback, you will not be allowed to participate in future secret pal swaps. It is also possible that other coordinators will not allow you to participate in their swaps. It's all about fun, so please have fun with it. http://signatures.mylivesignature.co...316ED2B81E.png http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-hug011.gif |

WOW what an eventful (and NOT a fun event either), couple days
here in the land of Colorado. Monday & Tuesday we had temperatures in the low 70's (Monday was 73). Wednesday the temps were in the 20's, and a blizzard was raging outside. Wednesday about noon we lost power, and didn't come back on until 2pm yesterday (26 hours without power), the condos that I live in were built in the early 1980s and are on a 3 Phase transformer, so we had PARTIAL power. The bathroom had full power, one side of our bedroom, the fridge, & garbage disposer had power, but no lights, stove or microwave. So hubs ran power strips (surge protectors) from the bathroom outlet, and the side of bedroom that did have power. He was able to get it so we at least have, power to the TV, and to the internet router. Living on the 3rd floor DOES have one good advantage, heat rises! so it only dropped down to 66 degrees and maintained that temp all day until power was back up. Once the power came back on it took the furnace 2-1/2 hours to bring the temp back up to 70. All I can say is I hope the next 2 storms coming in (this weekend) won't be as bad as the blizzard on Wednesday. By the time the blizzard stopped on Wednesday evening we had 16 inches of snow where I live, and where my hubs works (25-30 miles north) there was 24 inches of snow (in the least possibly more). Oh did I ever say I HATE COLORADO in the winter & spring? well me say it now just in case. I HATE WINTER & SPRING in COLORADO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I just realized the date and thought oh I have to go and get included. lol Will send info directly to Lori, count me in. Love love this group!
|
Sent Lori my info for April, a lovely Spring month. Sure appreciate you doing this Lori!

I HATE WINTER & SPRING in COLORADO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll remember you this summer when I'm miserable in the Florida heat & humidity, Louise. I pretty much hibernate inside with the a/c. Sorry you've had such bad weather. On a positive note my avatar is five-years-old today & has a 19-month-old brother. Grandchildren are wonderful! |
I'm in.
sent my info:) |
LOL
It does get hot in Colorado in the summer, but it is NOTHING like the heat and humidity of Florida. Of course it has been known to snow in June, July, and August here. granted that is normally only up in the high country (like Pikes Peak). About 20 years old when I was living in NC, and working in a cotton mill where the heat was horrible. A co-worker mentioned how he wish it would drop some snow. To which I replied if you want snow in July you need to go to CO. He bet me $50 that it doesn't snow in CO in July. A few days later we was closed for the week of July 4th. Low and behold on July 4th some tourists got stranded on the top of Pikes Peak. So the Monday after that week off went into work and Roger handed me $50 and said I should never have doubted a CO girl. [QUOTE=soniboo;7505917]

I still have 11 people from March who have not let me know that they have received their March packages. Please let me know if you have received. I should not have to send out individual messages asking when sending me notification is part of rules. Thank you, lecture is over. Lori

I'm in again this month. Sending info to Lori!

I really love this swap but am going to have to sit this one out for April, really hate doing that though. We purchased another home last November, I moved into the new house, DH still was at the old house until he stopped working. Well he no longer works so we have now started working on the house we are putting up for sale. While we was at the old house working someone broke into the new house, they got between $500 to $900 worth of silver change we had been saving ever since we were married. Took bunch of DH's tools and 2 of my coach purses. Plus some jewlery but not alot cause that was in the safe. What gets me though is none of the computers were missing or the Tvs or the bluray players or the Bose system, things that I always thought someone would take is still there. Needless to say we now have a alarm system.
