WOOHOO!!!
Look at that list!
Mine is almost done.
Just have to finish sewing the binding on.
YES, I am HAND SEWING it!
I have NEVER hand sewn a binding before!

imjustme 08-03-2009 06:22 AM

Really? How do you close it? I always hand-sew...it's the way I learned.

tlrnhi 08-03-2009 06:25 AM

Depending on who got the quilt, I would either pillowcase it....sew it wrong sides together, leave a hole and turn it rightside out.
OR....I would use the machine to sew it on.

My hand sewing is REALLY bad, but it's getting better........

I should add....I'm self taught on quilting. Never had anyone teach me or took any classes, so I pretty much do my own thing.

Knot Sew 08-03-2009 06:58 AM

I have my top done...I like it; now the sandwich; and maybe I'll eat it...

Nooooo I have to mail it

LMAO! Eat it! LMAO!
Ruth, you crack me up! :)

Esqmommy 08-03-2009 07:28 AM

Yea, my hand stichin sucks too, but I'm definitely improving on sewing down the bindings. Sometimes there are a few stiches in a row that don't show!! I had a very good friend teach me the basics, then I began taking classes and learned so much. I have to say I've learned more from you guys than anywhere else though!

My baby will be done this week, and I can't wait to get my partner. Hopefully, she'll lover her as much as I do.

Iluv2quilt 08-03-2009 07:29 AM

I picked out my pattern, now I get to choose the material!! Then, nose to the grindstone! :D :D

Well, I will say....the binding came out rather nice!
Now, to find out WHO I have as a partner so I can do the label. :)

KGoodhand 08-03-2009 07:33 AM

You people are amazing!! We don't even have partners yet and you guys are almost done!!!
One thing is for sure, no matter who gets what, they are going to be loved!!!
Kendra

You can put track and confirm on any package you mail for 80 cents. It seems nothing gets lost this way...and you can follow the progress of your package day by day... Nothing gets lost anymore....I mail first class not priority, gets there at the same time. I was in the row robin and my most expensive mailing was $7 thats first class insurance and track and confirm...this is just info I have gathered in the swaps I have done

quiltwoman 08-03-2009 12:02 PM

I finished the binding during my lunch break--just need a partner to make a label  I think I'm a doll quilt addict

collettakay 08-03-2009 12:36 PM

OK, sign me up, please. I've been working on a commisioned quilt but should have it done within 2 weeks (that's why I didn't play on the last swap). That gives me plenty of time to play with a doll quilt. We're renting a cabin the week of Aug. 16th so I'm going to try to get it pieced before that and take it along to handquilt during that week. It will be a nice, compact project for me to carry along and make sure I get my quilting fix that week.

amma 08-03-2009 02:18 PM

Wow, quilts almost done  and I am still planning mine out!!! I can't wait to find out who I am partnered with!!! :D :D :D

BlueChicken 08-03-2009 02:22 PM

Cripes... I'm not even started yet either! LOL

There should be massive penalties for those finishing first.... I'm thinking a chocolate fine would be acceptable.... one bar of chocolate for every day they're early, to be sent to me, of course. ;-)

Lacelady 08-03-2009 02:36 PM

Only if we get one bar of chocolate from eveyone who is late! I have started mine, finished the top today, but still a way to go to finish it.

BlueChicken 08-03-2009 02:38 PM

LOL

I'd have to buy shares in Cadbury! ;-)

NorBanaquilts 08-03-2009 04:45 PM

I've finished my quilt...waiting for a partner.

Overlander 08-03-2009 09:47 PM

You guys are amazing. Finished a mini tonight, just have to bind it. But it is a bit too small for the doll quilt exchange. I think I want to keep this one, a black, white & red flying geese that is 9"x9". It is so cute. I've got 3 or 4 ideas floating around in my head for the August exchange, just have to choose which one. Parnters, partners - who will we get???

Ninnie 08-03-2009 10:09 PM

Wow, some already done an I don't even have an idea yet! I guess I had better get to thinking! LOL

cutebuns 08-03-2009 10:20 PM

I am waiting to be paired before deciding on either giving up one that I just finished or doing another one. I have way to many ideas.

Iluv2quilt 08-03-2009 11:23 PM

I just finished my very first mini top and wanted to know can I post a picture or save it? I wanted ideas for quilting, not sure what to do.

Just asking :-)

Iluv2quilt 08-03-2009 11:44 PM

Thank you - I'll keep it a secret then.

I know, it's hard to keep them secrets when you want to show everyone the little beauties......but, <sigh> we have to wait.

Well now, we do have a few lizards here in North Carolina!
My grandson will collect them in the morning and haul them around with grass and whatever he thinks they will eat and then turn them loose. Living in the woods, there is a large supply of them.
So, am thinking a squishy with air holes!

genghis khan 08-04-2009 05:30 AM
