I have NEVER hand sewn a binding before!

Really? How do you close it? I always hand-sew...it's the way I learned.

Depending on who got the quilt, I would either pillowcase it....sew it wrong sides together, leave a hole and turn it rightside out.
OR....I would use the machine to sew it on.

My hand sewing is REALLY bad, but it's getting better........

I should add....I'm self taught on quilting. Never had anyone teach me or took any classes, so I pretty much do my own thing.

I have my top done...I like it; now the sandwich; and maybe I'll eat it...

Yea, my hand stichin sucks too, but I'm definitely improving on sewing down the bindings. Sometimes there are a few stiches in a row that don't show!! I had a very good friend teach me the basics, then I began taking classes and learned so much. I have to say I've learned more from you guys than anywhere else though!

My baby will be done this week, and I can't wait to get my partner. Hopefully, she'll lover her as much as I do.

I picked out my pattern, now I get to choose the material!! Then, nose to the grindstone! :D :D

Well, I will say....the binding came out rather nice!
Now, to find out WHO I have as a partner so I can do the label. :)

You can put track and confirm on any package you mail for 80 cents. It seems nothing gets lost this way...and you can follow the progress of your package day by day... Nothing gets lost anymore....I mail first class not priority, gets there at the same time. I was in the row robin and my most expensive mailing was $7 thats first class insurance and track and confirm...this is just info I have gathered in the swaps I have done

OK, sign me up, please. I've been working on a commisioned quilt but should have it done within 2 weeks (that's why I didn't play on the last swap). That gives me plenty of time to play with a doll quilt. We're renting a cabin the week of Aug. 16th so I'm going to try to get it pieced before that and take it along to handquilt during that week. It will be a nice, compact project for me to carry along and make sure I get my quilting fix that week.

But it is a bit too small for the doll quilt exchange. :oops: I think I want to keep this one, a black, white & red flying geese that is 9"x9". It is so cute. I've got 3 or 4 ideas floating around in my head for the August exchange, just have to choose which one. Parnters, partners - who will we get???

Well now, we do have a few lizards here in North Carolina! :wink:
My grandson will collect them in the morning and haul them around with grass and whatever he thinks they will eat and then turn them loose. Living in the woods, there is a large supply of them.
