Oh Cindy! You did very well! And thanks for the info on that shop. I'm going to have to check it out. Light colored batiks have not come my way very often.

all their fabrics are the same price, until May 1st they are 9.25 yd, they are going up to 9.75 yd May 1st. Everything i bought was in their sale room, which was 7.75 yd. with 1/2 yard minimum. I loved that I didn't have to worry how much this one was or that one was. All but one of the fabrics I bought was from the sale room. They have an awesome selection from light to dark plus the wide backs.

I think today if I can squeeze things in between carpet shampoo I might make a half set .. I am good for three blocks a day max. I get tired pretty quick. I am going to mix things up a bit with my colors but that is what life is all about.. mix it up, stir it together an there you have it! tada! PS everyone if each of you post once a day or as much as you can this will move to the first page andyou wont have to go searching it out! Traci that applies to you too :)

tracibug 04-29-2013 12:26 PM

Cindy - I love the fabrics you picked up.

I recently acquired a few from a shop that was closing so my batik stash ever groweth... I loooooooooove the batiks. Brights, earth tones, all of them...

Elisabrat - you'll be proud, I finished another item DAYS early!!! Muah ha ha... now I can keep playing catch up.

Mariposa 04-29-2013 02:16 PM

Until then, you can go to the top and click on "thread tools" then "subscribe to thread" and then when you click "settings" at the very top of the page, if anything's been posted, it'll be on the list that comes up. If you want to see it when it's not on that list, just click "quick links" and "subscribed threads" and the full list will come up. Then the ones that have new comments will be in bold. :)

TheMamaHauser 04-29-2013 06:17 PM

I finished two more sets yesterday. I'll have to try and remember to take some pictures tomorrow & post them. I am doing anything I possibly can to avoid finishing my work for the semester.

tracibug 04-29-2013 10:43 PM

I did that with my homework too... All the way to the last day of the term for my last class needed to finish my degree.... Phew! It's only been 2 months and I remember it like yesterday... Stick with it though!!!

great colors so far I am really looking forward to this one. Have my designs ready just have to sit down and start sewing. This weekend should be fairly quiet for me so fingers crossed.

createfourpaws 05-02-2013 11:09 AM

I still haven't figured out what blocks I am going to make, have the fabric figured out, went and bought the light colored batiks last weekend. This weekend will be finishing up another swap, then I will figure out what blocks I am going to make.

Mariposa 05-02-2013 03:10 PM

nice blocks mama!! :)

tracibug 05-03-2013 11:53 AM

Gorgeous blocks...

I received notice that Linda has shipped her blocks... phew. I'm jealous...

On a side note: I am moving in June so please PM me for an address before mailing your blocks. This move is so up in the air I am unsure if I will be staying in CA, moving back to MN, putting my stuff in storage and squatting on a couch for a few months, getting a divorce, etc., etc. It's all a huge mess that has no good options and the timing is HORRIBLE.

I will likely have them sent to a friend (on the QB) so they will all be unaffected by my chaos.

Thank you...

here is a couple of small wall hangings I have done to give away at my Eastern Star Meeting tonight. The batik fabric in these are in my purple gumball quilt I have done.

I love my batiks more each time I use them. The gumball has 20 different purple batiks in it.

and the gumball quilt is now my avatar.

tracibug 05-03-2013 02:08 PM

Cindy- Those are beautiful and so is the gumball quilt!!

Mariposa 05-03-2013 03:25 PM

Cindy, your blocks are beautiful, and your gumball quilt is so fun! ;)

tracibug 05-07-2013 03:44 PM

Batiks need a little bump and a few more players!! Recruit your friends!! :)

TheMamaHauser 05-07-2013 07:19 PM

I pimped the swap on the Pacific Boomerang group... lots of us in there are saying we're bored because our blocks are all sewn!

Elisabrat 05-08-2013 05:44 AM

Kelly told you to come join the summer fun swap. tried to get those bored people over there.. they were not running :( but we still ended up with 35 swappers so I think we did great :) I am not sure I am going to be able to do this swap even though I signed up. I have to get my big commitments done and time is slipping right out under my fingers. I am feeling .. choked right now but will get back into the grove. I have not missed a single mail date yet so just need a push. Also Kelly I adore your cream beige batiks. you have a superb collection of them. send the scraps to me! you know Jaba and I were checking them out in the quilt store yesterday unable to find your color tones.. both of us looked because you enticed us. where did you find them they ware warmer beige I think or its the computer that deceives us.

I'm trying to remember. The brown/tan print set I got a few weeks ago. The set I posted along with it (kind of looks like a pin wheel) is purples and then the light color on the outside is a blue with pink/purple streaks - those were all purchased at Big Sky Quilts here in Great Falls. I'm not sure if they have an online store. The very first set, the cream/tan background print I bought more than a year ago at The Quilting Hen in Carter, MT. They sell online so you've got a chance they still have some available. Around here, they've got the biggest selection of batiks.

Annaquilts 05-08-2013 12:19 PM

I just send a pm to tracibug to sign up since I bought a big pile of batiks. I am also willing to do the final swap if tracibug needs me to help out. July and August are very low key months for me and I have nothing going on. I am signed up and have the fabrics and all I need to do is pick out block patterns. Picking block designs is almost as much fun to me as the piecing.:D

happylab 05-08-2013 08:18 PM

Thank-you Tracibug for organizing this block swap. I really enjoy Batiks fabric and look forward to all the different block patterns. Please sign me up for 2 groups.

mom-6 05-08-2013 10:47 PM

Looking good folks! Glad some of you have more time for sewing than I do right now. Can't even seem to get into my studio for more than a few minutes lately. Being busy is great up to a point, but I'm feeling quilting withdrawal!

Elisabrat 05-09-2013 01:09 AM

ok Annaquilts convinced me to not give up. so here I stay :) (or is that an oh no moment). I have a couple smaller projects to finish and relief will zoom in. then I can whip up my sets. whip it good ... ah singing at 2 in the morning..

Annaquilts 05-09-2013 12:11 PM

Woo hoo Linda! Batiks are so pretty that even more basic blocks look stunning. It will be fun to get a nice big group of quilt board buddies swapping. I plan to do all 6 sets and hope to get atleast one block from people participating. I am looking forward to seeing everyones blocks. This is so much fun. I skipped out on the 10 1/2 inch block swap because of the size. There were some pretty blocks in there too, actually all of them were great.

I'm hoping I will get to do this one, but my time has not been my own lately. Will see how many I get a chance to do.

tracibug 05-13-2013 08:33 AM

Yes, you may... I'll make a note. :)
