Here is my last one for tonight. This one is for Cheesehead. It's called Daisy Star from the book Garden Stars.

H4B more incredible blocks. Have you ever thought of teaching paper piecing and how you look at it as being a “simple” 9 Patch
It sounds fascinating to learn paper piecing thinking of sections like we do for regular piecing.

I would be worried I am doing something wrong as I am self taught. I watched a video and was stumped on how hard they made it. I have taught some locals at the senior center.

You are really 'wowing' us this time, Hav! I was wondering the same thing... if you taught classes anywhere. Nothing wrong with being self taught. Then you can teach on your own style.

Oh my gosh Hav4, that quilt block is incredibly beautiful, it looks like stained glass, thank you! I agree with the rest of the group, you have such great talent with paper piecing, everything you make is outstanding!

Another stunner Hav! I’m getting the itch to pull out some basic paper piecing blocks. We’ll see.

2. When it comes to piecing, I'd say I'm a beginner, and I know one wants a "modern" looking block. Does anybody have a pattern or two of a modern block that isn't too complicated to make?
:)

I use two resources for easier piecing modern blocks.
1. Tula Pink City blocks. This is a collection of 100 modern blocks. You need to upsize them from 6 1/2”
2. Craftsy has a Free 2012 BOM class that includes modern variations on most blocks. I’ve used these from time to time.

Hope that helps

Couldn’t sleep last night so I took out the boom fabrics and pulled fabrics. I’ll be using some of Tula Pink’s city block designs (one with Teddy Bears in it), a distinctive Dresden, and a wonky pound sign block from Craftsy 2012 class.
