MJPEncinitas, here's another block for you. I have enough of your pink, purple, red and green left. I was wondering if you would mind if I made you another block with all those fabrics and a white background?

Everyone is Helena way, please stay safe!!! Is it true that the death toll is up around 40? Absolutely heartbreaking!

Thank you. The block is beautiful. I would welcome another block!

Wow! I’ve been gone for several days and so much has happened! All The blocks are beautiful! Overwhelming to see so many.

Janice I wish I could swoop you and your family up and bring you to our home in San Diego until things are more settled in North Carolina. Watching the devastation there has been very disheartening. Terriamn I’m thinking of you, wishing I lived near enough to bring you some meals. Stay safe everyone!

I’ve been prepping boom blocks for my trip where I’ll have two and half days of sewing while my husband is at a conference. I’m hoping with my prep I can finish lots of blocks.

I haven’t been working on boom blocks but I have worked on a vest for precious fabric ‘contest’. It’s the same Sincerely Yours Fat quarters I sent to the boom except the light orange colorway. Janice if you look at the back you’ll see a hint of what I’m sending you!

MJP - you and that vest look awesome! You have great sew time!

Terri- we need to get those bubble suits out. And it feels worse after a day goes by. Rest and hydrate and think of all the great patterns.

Janice - were any of our boom friends in the path? It’s amazing that I am only seeing photos of NC yet FL got the hurricane. Hopefully they won’t be left out. Enough of my ramblings. Stay hydrated. And this one is for you. Not as much contrast of the 4 shades that I expected.

Oh, my Teri, I hope the turtle is OK that it appreciates your efforts to bring it to a safe place. Now YOU need a big turtle to get you to a safe place. Tee-Hee-Hee Take care and be gentle with yourself. Yup, water and rest and may be a little something that is a treat just for you.

Two blocks down and one more on the cutting table. Photo later today. I feel like the reporter who will have "News at six!" ;)

Terriamn, that's awful! The good news is you are here to tell us about it. The bad news -- ouch, ouch, ouch, soggy ick! I'd like to believe the turtle was protecting your descent since you saved it from its own peril.

Janice thank you for the good news.

Good (?) morning, all. Still here without power. Think I said the generator failed. The co is coming today to look at it. Internet is up but is spotty. Getting hard to not be depressed. I think of all the devastation and then remind myself we’re all safe and sound. It’s getting harder though.

Still haven’t had a chance to fully read the thread. I hope to do that later today after the phone gets recharged. Thank you to every wishing us well. Terriamn, I’m glad you’re ok despite being banged up. Must have been scary. Lucky turtle!

I’m off to take a walk. Helps keep me calm. Going up the road to feed the chickens. Always worth a laugh!

Colors of the day and I am lucky, if I had hit that rock on my forehead, nose or even back of head this could be an entirely different scenario. Poor hubby I think it really traumatized him. But so much better off then all the victims of the Hurricane

Hope to finish off my blocks in the next couple of days.

TG I think your yellows worked out great on Janice’s block. Love the pattern you chose

MJ you and your vest look lovely. How fun

Ouch Terri! Looks like a bad shiner. Glad it wasn't worse.

MJP, the vest is great! I love the back!!

Terri, that looks so painful! Eye injuries always scare the willies out of me.

MJP, thanks for getting back to me about squeezing out another block with your fabrics. Cute vest too!

Janice, I hope your power comes back on soon!

Three blocks done between yesterday and today, plus another four cut out and ready to sew. I love the "Hope of Hartford" block. It always turns out perfectly 12.5". One day I want to make a scrappy quilt with just this block pattern.

Hi again. Generator company is here. It’s a bad module of some sort. Might have the new parts in a day or two. So no power until further notice. On the plus side, I don’t have to listen to that thing rev up and down constantly until it dies.

Terri, oh my gosh, I hope it looks worse than it is! You’ve got a shiner, as my dad would have said. Just tell folks you were in a fight and you put the other fella in the drink!

The blocks are gorgeous! NZQ, Lstew, and TG, love them all. TG, I think your block will work perfectly. Thank you.

MJP, if you find a way to scoop us up, you’ll get no fight from us!

Went to the doc today for my knee and he’s saying PT is the way to go. Not sure I can agree as meniscus tears don’t heal by themselves but PT it is for a couple of months.

That’s it for now. Take care, everyone!
