I remember those blocks, I couldn't remember which one I made but it was fun to check the gallery and see all the blocks again from everyone and find the one I made.

I finished my UFO that was on my To Do List for today. Another quilter gave me the top about 75% finished but she was/is suffering with arthritis and gave all of her projects, tools, fabric, etc. away in 2022. I have done several of her quilts and have a few more to go. This was originally a mystery quilt from our group in 2019. I accomplished the machine binding and like Janice, finished is better than perfect. I am getting better at the machine binding, but not perfect by any means.

I actually sewed today, going to try and get a few tops done for my sister’s quilt group for the Mission’s in Texas. It’s mindless sewing as I am just making 4 patches out of donated fabric. Trying to take some pressure off of her. I really haven’t enjoyed quilting as much as I use to since my nasty bout with depression. So it was nice just to sit at the machine and mindlessly sew..

Terriamn, I am glad that you found a little bit of joy in stitching again. We all have our ups and downs, but depression is different. Simple four patches can be beautiful and you can fuss about with different sizes if you feel like it. I am assuming spring is blooming in Minnesota much like it is here in Michigan and a little bit of home grown sunshine may be just the ticket. Muggy today and this evening but this too shall pass with a day of thunderstorms scheduled for tomorrow. Bet that you may be having tonight those same storms tonight.

Good morning. The sun will rise in about 10 minutes but the birds are already singing. I love this time of the day.

WMUTeach, the green and white is beautiful. All those HSTs are my cup of tea. Very pretty.

I’m itching to quilt another flimsy to get one out of the pile but I’m going to hold off for the Bloom blocks. I’ve also got to make a twin sized quilt for the guild for donation so that is in the back of my mind all the time. I have several months before it’s due. It’s larger than I enjoy making but I’ll give it a go. I have some wonderfully fun and bright dinosaur fabric that was part of the stash given to me. It’ll be perfect for this quilt.

More packages are on their way. Looks like we’ll have an on time start. I hope to ship out early next week. If packages arrive early, I’ll try to ship early.

Ah, the sun is rising. Time to put out the bird feeders. We pull them in before dusk each night to minimize bears coming into the yard and destroying them. They’re more bold at night.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. So I dove in to my partial set of F8s just to get back into the swing of things. I haven’t made 12-1/2 inch blocks since the last Boom and my machine was beginning to make noise. It was in for service for a while but I just discovered today that it’s still making a bad noise but happily the thread breaking is resolved. Tomorrow I’m calling Juki Junkies in FL to see if I need to send the machine to them for repair. I should have done that first time around but I was told the place I took it to was the place to go for Juki service. Ummm. Not so much.

I did manage to make a non-wonky star for Moonwork while sweating out each seam. I’m out of practice, too, Moon. Anyway, here it is and I hope you like it. The white is tiny stars.

What a wonderful thing to do! It's amazing how simple colors and shapes can make such a beautiful pattern. And it was a mystery quilt, too! I would really have to take my time with the layout. Great job, WMU.

I finished a small ufo myself yesterday. The project was about a dozen leftover 6 inch blocks . I turned them into a tabletopper that I quilted on my domestic. Done! And one more UFO off the pile.

It's darn near perfect. I think these colors are going to be great and I am crossing my fingers I can do it justice when I put it together and quilt it. I have another block cut out but that is as far as I've gotten.

I stopped today at a friend's shop ... she unfortunately has been suffering from extreme dementia for the past several years. Her daughter had a bakery in the "back" part of the fabric shop and is now having to completely liquidate her bakery items and what little bit of sewing stuff was remaining. She had already given the remaining stock of fabric to some charity quilters a few months ago. I would have sworn I knew every item in that shop since I had been going there for over 30 years and often helped during lunch and after work during Paducah Quilt Week, yet the items I found today were some that I knew I had never seen before. Sadly, I had to wonder if the illness had been creeping in for longer than we knew because of all the never seen before items. Her daughter said she kept finding stuff in the strangest of places. I haven't called my friend because of upsetting her ... she lays the phone down mid conversation and has no short term memory now. I guess I'm so sad because I loved this lady like a sister and feel sorry for myself at losing "her". I will keep remembering her as she was and not as she is.
