Sorry Anita, I finnished your block yesterday, ( 1st one I opened) it's not red/white/black, but I do hope you'll like it.

kysmommy2 01-12-2010 12:05 AM

Oatw13--your finished block is going out tomorrow!! I LOVE IT!!!! Hope you do too!

Here is a test block I made using my own fabric before I cut into someone else's. Someone will be getting a version of this block. (I changed it, gotta love a test block. You can work out the kinks!) I'm just showing off my fabric...

MadQuilter 01-12-2010 09:44 AM

I got 13 squishies in the mail yesterday. I hope nobody expects any from me for a bit. My plate is excessively full at the moment and the other deadlines loom much larger.

kysmommy2 01-12-2010 09:55 AM

Don't even worry about it Mad!! We will all be PLENTY busy!

I put all my F8s in the mail today. Please let me know when you get them. That way I will know if they all got to the right place. This is so much fun already and the blocks haven't even started to get here yet!

OdessaQuilts 01-12-2010 12:29 PM

Hello April & Izabella,

You were asking about suggested changes to the form you sent. I personally love it, but a column for "notes" might be helpful. Perhaps make the date sent/date received, etc. colums narrower (only need to put 3 or 4 numbers in there anyway), and leave a nice box for any kinds of notes we may need from what we see on the Board ("prefers B&W and only red"; "send back scraps"; "use both fabrics", etc.) so we don't have to go back and forth through a hundred gazillion pages to find the notations we want. That would be my only suggestion.

I have to say also, you did a fine job in organizing the list. It must have been difficult to decide if you were going to alphabatize based on screen name, first name or last name. I had to acclimate my eye to that, but now I think I have it.

Thanks again for hosting this swap; so far it's been a hoot! I hope Izzy is loving her fabrics!

I know how you feel. I only got 3 today (and after 7 yesterday, makes me feel as if I'm just not that important any more!) .

Now the REAL fun begins: trying to make decisions about what I'm going to do with all these awesome fabrics! (and then to be able to get them done on time!).

blueribbontoes 01-12-2010 12:38 PM

Thanks, it will be a surprise!!! I will mail it tomorrow, didn't get to PO today, had Dr's appointment, and when I got up this morning still no water and on top of that no heat. Now there both fixed.

blueribbontoes 01-12-2010 03:52 PM

April, of course we get first choice for signups on the next round, right? *wink wink*

6 inch or 9 inch blocks could be fun!

sewspecial 01-12-2010 05:00 PM

Can't wait for them to get to Canada

You guys - stoooooop. ROFL, I have to do 12 Chocoberries, 12 ponds, January batics, wanna-do-the-funky-chicken AND 35 Boomerangs. Not to mention the UFO list that won't end. Rolls over in corner and sucks thumb.

kysmommy2 01-12-2010 05:15 PM

lol...I SOOOOO want to do the funky chicken too!! I am appehensive though and don;t want to over commit...I should be able to decide in a couple more weeks if it is reasonable to join in it or not. I love to put my all into each block and don't want to get in a hurry :)

You guys are too much! We need to have this to keep us sane...even all the insanity of the swaps keeps us quilters grounded-it's what makes our world fun :-)

PS Anymore room for me in the corner? lol

NorBanaquilts 01-12-2010 05:52 PM

At least we'll have lots of friends in the crazy house when we all get there. lol

Nancy in Louisiana 01-12-2010 05:52 PM

Anita, you're in luck. When I saw your fabric it said "put me with red", so I did. That was before I saw your note.

Little Izzy -- whoa, that fabric!!! You really gave me and my stash a good challenge. I am returning one ugly block and one not-as-ugly. I kept thinking about what my 4-yr-old granddaughter would like. She probably would have picked up the same fat eighth to send me. (By the way, just what do you call that "green" in the print???) You definitely see things in living colors -- you go, girl.

The rest of the blocks -- I'm still chugging along. Isn't it amazing how much more attention to pay to detail when it is going to someone else I even used a PIN!
