luvTooQuilt 12-26-2011 10:02 PM

oh well... it just gives me something to keep wishing for...

I havent decided on a 'twist' for January.. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions they would like to throw out for consideration????

SheriR 12-26-2011 11:18 PM

Stash Busters with a twist of something Old…like 30's prints or civil wars. Except I know you did those. Hummmmmm. Stash Busters with a twist of floral? Or citrus…anything yellow orange lime??? A twist of college prints lol JK!!! Ooooh I know a twist of any color solid… .… thinking… January is usually snowy for most… a twist of white on white… Ok… it's late I'm sick my therAflu is kicking in and I shouldn't give ideas. LoL…sorry. However… I was meaning to ask this very question. :D

luvTooQuilt 12-26-2011 11:29 PM

I'm going to start cutting so when you post we can send them I'll be ready!!! Now pick the darn twist already!!! Hmmm...what about a fq twist???

sharon b 12-27-2011 05:18 PM

HHmmmm maybe flowers to get us in the mood of spring - January is a Long , cold month LOL or solids or.. heck anything :)

SheriR 12-27-2011 10:34 PM

Stash busters with a twist of STASH BUSTERS… I have tons of pieces to small for 12 squares :-) A fat quarter would work too :)

luvTooQuilt 12-28-2011 09:05 PM

So what do you all think about a pin cushion twist????

SheriR 12-28-2011 11:53 PM

I went back through the posts and so far this is the order--if I missed anyone just hop in at the end of the line...no cutting or holding places for others. Wont luvToQuilt be amazed that we have started her sign up for her!!!!!

" We are Quilters.. Hear us Roar with the aid the sewing Machine !!!! "

yes if course a made one silly girl...

or.....

What about strips?? a 2.5 in strip of 5 different fabs of the same 'color' or theme of the month??

sharon b 12-29-2011 03:30 PM

Would the strips be width of fabric ? I just worry Pin cushion might be too fat :)

sapdoggie 12-29-2011 04:00 PM

Not sure how to make a flat pin cushion for the envelope :D

Strips could also come from stash and get more out.

SheriR 12-29-2011 04:03 PM

We could make the pincushion but not stuff it?

luvTooQuilt 12-29-2011 05:04 PM

Hmmmmmm well if they are SMALL pin cushions they should be ok... Ive rec'd plenty as gifts from swappers and they squished just fine.. Doesn't have to be anything elaborate just fun..

and if we do strips yes, it would be 2.5 x WOF (width of fabric) and it can be anything you have on hand as long as if fits in the 'theme' of the swap..

sharon b 12-29-2011 05:14 PM

Just my 2 cents but I like the strip idea - but what ever you choose I will be fine with :)

luvTooQuilt 12-29-2011 05:17 PM

1  vote for Strips.... Sharon b

(i wont count my vote till we get at least 10 more votes for PC or Strips)

Momma_K 12-29-2011 08:24 PM

I wouldn't mind strips...I have LOADS of floral but very little solids. Although I do like the solids idea. Whatever ya'll choose I'll go with it.

SheriR 12-29-2011 08:36 PM

I am intrigued with the idea of a strip swap. I for one would have to be careful about my cutting so I actually sent straight strips, not ones that looked liked rows of W's when someone opened them up. =)

luvTooQuilt 12-29-2011 08:43 PM

3  votes for strips......

Sharon b
MommaK
SheriR

sapdoggie 12-29-2011 09:27 PM

strips gets my vote ( best not be anyone taking pictures with all the stripping going on)

grandme26 12-30-2011 09:05 AM

I do to- but I can rotary cut faster and more accurate with my Olfa rotary cutter... I still cant get comfortable with using the strip dies.. I seem to waste more fabric using the go to cut my strips.. cause I cant fold them right.. dagnabit..

Looks like strips are in the lead.. :)

Mitesa- I do not have a heart pin cushion but I do have a heart fons & porter magnetic pin caddy Turtle bought me for mothers day..

SheriR 12-30-2011 06:40 PM

We have a fake lite up tree.. hubby gets a new one about every three years- he refuses to 'fix' any unlit bulbs.. drives me crazy but I dont want to add any thing else to my to-do list for the holidays.. Hubby DOES NOT HELP at all putting up or taking down.. Next year I have to 'hire' a crew to put up our holiday stuff outside.. He must be the grinch's other brother because he can do with out Christmas.. NOT ME !!!!!! i like to torture him and play LOUD xmas music.. Anyone hear the Chipmunks Christmas carols ? hahahahaha that and the Disney Princess Carols are played LOUD AND PROUD around here .. lol..

Glad you had a blast with the kiddos !!

sapdoggie 12-30-2011 07:12 PM

SheriR - glad you had a great vacation !!!!

If I had someone to pamper me- I might not cause so-o-o-o much trouble-:D

Oh wait - I do have someone who pampers me - a dear hubby of almost 32 years ( Jan.12)

So, no excuse - just my nature I guess- although LUV and Yosemitesa encourage me A LOT :p:p

Now LUV if you have that many decorations, you need a full staff to keep you organized.

As for the music- I'll let everyone decide what is best for them- the strips will need to be hot colors though to keep us all warm

BTW- you dont need any encouraging - you get in trouble all your own.. lol..

sapdoggie 12-30-2011 07:51 PM

Sapdoggie… we just celebrated 30 years. Every anniversary hubby gets me one pink rose for each year. He says Kroger is his best friend. HaHa.

Luv Luv... No help with decorations from hubby AND no long arm???? Time for some anti-grinch re-training!!!

Hes really is a good guy..... I can walk in a jewelery store and pick out anything I wanted- he tells me that all the time.. Ha we were in Justice Jewelers getting his Rolex sized and told me that very same thing.. But seriously, Ive got plenty of bling I really want a LA instead... . its just he lost his mom around the holidays a few years ago and Christmas has never been the same since.. I can understand but i do hope one day he can get out of his holiday funk and join us happy campers....
