I got my card in the mail today. It has a long way to travel, hopefully it has a quick trip!

It was my first time using the sewing machine to make the card, I was mostly successful. I had to play with the tension to go through the innards, mostly successful, but seems like it just couldn't adjust loose enough. Looks like I'll just have to make a lot more cards for the practice :)

Yes it is marshmallows on the second PC. It is from Mercy who is 12. The two marshmallows are supposed to look horrified about poor Puffy - S'morbid isn't it. It was done on an old Kenmore with a primitive 1980s computer. She had a lot of fun playing with that.

The birthday post card was sewn on my Singer 115 hand crank. I was using a wire darning foot and writing left handed and cranking with the right hand. I outlined a bit. Then I "zig zagged" around everything with it. It works better forward and back than side to side. It is a bit chincy but I can see what I'm doing with that spring thing. I just don't have fine hand writing on a good day. When I was digging through fabric and things I ran across a scrap of linen only slightly bigger than the final PC to stitch the calendar to. I discovered that it matched the flower off a broken old doily it kind of repeated the two patterns. It doesn't have a lot of sparkles but I couldn't justify putting any on with all the vintage stuff.

wow miriam, i have yet to actually stitch words with my machine. i just don't have that much control even though i am a calligrapher. Give my thanks to Mercy for the cute postcard. Great job. How did u do the calendar numbers? was that already preprinted. i noticed the background was home dec fabric.
