please feel free to make suggestions for 2021 post cards during December
Count me in for December Marion
Please count me in again for the post card exchange.
The only suggestion I can think of: Color of the month with your choice of design but must be mainly in the monthly color. I'm terrible at ideas so I am sure others can make better suggestions.
Sounds good Lena. I don't think we have colours attached to our months here in OZ,but I may be wrong so could you name them for us who don't know ? Thanks. Have you all received Nov cards? I haven't received any of my swaps since August. Must be a drought!
I haven't received any of my four swaps . The ones I have sent have been received except for one , I am thinking it must be the incoming Australian post where the hold up is . The covin 19 and Christmas makes post slower. I have never heard of the months having colours either Marion. Let us know Lena Suggestion could be At the beach
This is sort of one idea. Or m-fay could just randomly choose a color for the month. I didn't know this idea had been used previously. I began with the first Calendar Holidays of the Month. I think of post cards as small challenges and a way to stretch my techniques or try new ones.
If Months Were Colors If months were colors, here is the palette: January - White Fresh start, lots of snow February - Red Valentine's Day, cozy evenings March - Gray Cabin fever sets in, sides of road are gross April - Pink Buds are blossoming under gentle rain May - Blue Optimism abounds as days get warmer June - Yellow Sunshine, beaches and good cheer July - Orange Searing, steamy summer days and nights August - Gold Heat reaches its apex, dog days abound September - Purple School colors, civic pride, productivity October - Orange Leaves in full color, Halloween November - Brown Cornucopia of harvest, turkey graces table December - Green and Red Christmas wrapping, elves and candy canes |
I haven't received my Nov card yet, but know it's coming.
Would love to join again. Hopefully I am making my post card ok. I enjoyed the ones I received, and I posted pics of them, hope that's ok.
I mailed out R-sea postcard on Nov 9th......and a package in another swap same day , neither have reached destination. The package one says it departed Sydney on 23 Nov and passed thru an Australian facility on 27 Nov and is headed to its destination... It took almost 2 weeks just to get from the US to Sydney.....talk about the long way around....It appears the package spent a long time in Chicago, IL...seeing the sites I suppose.. |
Thanks Lena.i notice there's a few double ups and greens missed out so there would be a couple of changes but none too drastic. It's a good idea. And thanks Rosalyn, another good idea. Keep these ideas rolling in
Yea, I am back and want to join in on the fun.
Nelco |
Sorry, I realized there were some colors that were excluded from the list but wanted to give you an idea of what I was referring to. One month could we could also make something in the color of our birthstones leaving the recipient to figure out what month we were born. I seem to be stuck on color. I must need more color in my life at the moment! LOL
Thanks Lena. Birthstone is a good idea as well and made me think...signs of the zodiac in which you were born
I like the birthstone one as well
Well it has to be Dec 2 everywhere now so here are the names
r-sea to Nelco Nelco to m-fay m-fay to Marietta Marrietta to Lena1952 Lena1952 to r-sea |

Has anyone received their post cards yet? I know mine is coming from over seas and should be here any time.
I don't think any Dec ones have arrived yet and I think Lena is still waiting for her November one. I think the postal service is really slowing down with the effects of this virus
Yes along with all the packages
I received a message from Lena1952 on Dec 18 saying she had received my December tree postcard. She said that was her first opportunity to access a computer to let me know.
I haven't received mine yet, but am sure it's on the way. Merry and Blessed Christmas everyone, and a Happy, Safe, Healthy and Prosperous New Year !!! |

this is my Post Card from Lena 1952 This is what Lena wrote on the back Shake card and decorate your tree to your hearts content. She has put netting over the card to hold the sparkle circles and I do like her idea of the finished edges
That is really lovely rsea and what a clever idea.

This is the PC i received from Nelco. Now there's only Marietta to receive her Dec one from Me..
What clever and creative postcards. I love Lena’s shake and decorate idea! What a fun idea to send to my great niece’s and nephews. I may borrow that to do a shake and decorate birthday postcard. Curiosity question. Do you mail them in an envelope or do they hold up well going through the postal service?
Most of us put them in an envelope. Why dent you join us for February? We only had 3 to do januarys.
I’ve never made one. It sounds fun. I’ll make one to see if I’m up to par. February is birthstone.https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png
Please do one Blueridgebeverly, send it you may not think it is up to par , but it will be . when you receive one back you will be surprised how good your one is
Yes. Do join us Bev. I'm a February too. Amethyst.
M-Fay, sorry I meant February theme is birthstone. I’m a December baby. Turquoise. I’m trying to get creative ideas going.
Ahh turquoise is the one that has copper in it ...just a smidgean but its there. I have a turquoise pendant with just a trace of copper init
I received my postcard for Dec from mfay,,,sorry for taking so long to post....the picture was always so big and it might very well be so this time also..ha..but I am posting it anyway
If anyone has some advice about resizing so I can post I would appreciate it...Thanks https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...414-622882.jpg |
My usual response to posting pictures (near the end of this post is a link about reducing):
We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures. https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...p-location.jpg Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...d-t312607.html Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |
