Well I think I won the lottery!! What a wonderful package from sewdarncute. She had many clues and I guessed it was me - first time since I have been doing the swap. She made a wonderful Christmas purse (have always wanted a homemade purse, how did you know?) that was full with my favorite peanut M&M's, a little like bowl or holder (where the candy is), a cutter, buttons, flat pins, tea, a dog toy (Buckley says thanks very much), a cup in a darling box, a little pouch with sanitizer in it, patterns and magazines. Thanks so much Darlene for your generosity.

Jaba, just need to say thank you for such a really cute wooden Dear!!! I fogot to mention it in my other post.It is so cute and I really love it. My dear grandfather used to make these many many years ago when he was living. It brought back some special memories!!! Thank you !!!

gzuslivz 12-11-2012 07:34 PM

I spent all day working on Christmas presents: 4 applique wall hangings, two rice bags (one for eyes and one for neck), a refashioned sweatshirt and a stuffed bird. Tomorrow I will take some pictures. It was so nice listening to Christmas music with the dogs for company.

December Secret Pal Person

This message is from Swampfox WHOM REALLY needs to learn to type or hen peck or something so that he can type his own messages here on the board about his secret pal instead of dictating and me typing for him. Maybe next year.....

To the person whom lives on a corner Street in a drunkard town which also is an unincorporated census-designated place Way East of Oregon, your package was mailed out today. I am so so sorry that I forgot to include a Christmas card with a note in it for you. But my name is on the package. I hope you enjoy what I have sent to you. Here is a tracking number 03110240000125437889

December secret pal person

Your package was mailed today to a person that lives in a COLD STATE that I believe has already gotten lots of snow. So be on the lookout for a package in the next few days. 03110240000125437896

Grandma Peg...
I couldn't believe you guessed! Glad you are happy, I am so sorry I didn't include a note, this time of year I don't know if I'm coming or going....hmmmm friends may say that is my usual condition, but I'm sticking to December madness:)
I never know what to call those fabric bowl thingys, they are fun to make and I use up cycled dinner napkins. You can refill the sanitizer. Enjoy, it was a pleasure being your secret pal!

Quilty-Louise 12-12-2012 07:28 AM

Heads up SP I just tracked your package and the EXPECTED delivery
date is for today.

With that said we will see IF it does get to you today.

luvstoquilt 12-12-2012 08:55 AM

Brenda said it best, Bellfry! I seldom spend more than $10 and then just a few cents more. I have a "swap box"and I add stuff as I find it. I go all over the place and find great stuff at bargain prices...Estate sales, church sales, thrift shops,Goodwill, $ stores, Michaels, Joann's,Tuesday Morning, Marshalls and I do regift if it is something I have already. Lots of the swapers love tea and I put a few in a baggie and send that along. I know my packages have gotten a lot better as time has gone on. Personally, I love old magazines, old patterns, etc. and I have found a lot of those at garage sales for 50 cents. I read those books and pass them on. A local quilter moved from here to Arizona a few months ago and she gave me about 25 books...some are duplicates of ones I have and love...perfect for a SP! I was at a quilt show a few months ago and out of date magazines were 25 cents each....some for me & some for SP!

Ladybug 1938 12-12-2012 10:37 AM

My SP should have her package today... YOu got rain yesterday and we got it all night and this AM,,, Chilly here in the south and I hear it's chilly by you....

mrsaj11 12-12-2012 11:32 AM

Well.....sigh..... nothing in the mail today for me, darn it......well I look forward to tomorrow then, maybe maybe maybe it will be me tomorrow... Going to deliever christmas stockings or baskets to nursing home tomorrow, what fun I will have. til tomorrow Angela

This one is just the fabric, I'm making something cute with this fabric. It was hard for me to cut this I love it so much.

Love those fabrics, you know if you decide that those arent the ones that should go to your sp then you could always send them here. Just a thought.

I just love seeing everything folks are sending/ receiving. Apparently many of you do not stay within the $10.00 limit! Unfortunately for my recipient, I do need to stay within that limit, so I hope she won't be too disappointed. I ordered some fabric for her as this is a rural area and not many choices for fabric shopping. I really hope it gets here before the deadline! Otherwise I'll be sending a supplemental package.

Dont worry about the limit. Most of us has a huge stash of stuff that we pull from for the swaps which makes it look like more than 10 bucks. I have one of those stashes. I go out at tax season and buy the basics like fq's, needles, notepads, etc. then personalize the boxes with other stuff then so dont give it a thought. Most of us just like the anticipation and fun of getting something in the mail.

SP, I got one of your handmade items done today while at sewing group. I hope you are gonna like it. Due to a limited amount of extra cash this month your package is going to be mailed in a flatrate envelope instead of a medium box as my usual but I assure you that it is gonna be packed to the max with all kinds of goodies. Hoping to finish up the rest of your handmade items tomorrow and mail it out Friday.

Here's another clue for you, your zip totals 13 and you have furbabies. Heres a sneak peak of one of the handmade items that has been finished so far. Any of you that are knitters or crocheters this may be yours.

I have been looking at the Ottlite Craft Caddy Lamp for some time now. Joannes has them ranging from 59.99 to 79.99 depending on sale you hit. Other places have same lamp for a little less but still a good chunk of change. So, I have just been waiting till the right sale.

Today I went to sewing group and one of the ladies there walks in with four of them still in box. One of the other ladies said she has two. They found them on sale for such a good price they picked up extras and asked if any of us would like them. Well since I already knew what they sold for I figured it was still out of my range. A bunch of the others ladies who have more of a budget to afford these said yes. I then heard what these lamps were on sale for and thought I was going to fall out of my chair. These wonderful ladies found them at Walmart on a Xmas special for just $12.00, yes that is correct. Well needless to say I now have my lamp I have been eyeing for ages now at least I will once xmas gets here. Told ladies I would take one and wrap it up from DH so he doesnt have to stress so much over what to get me. Here is a pic for those who havent seen one.

I have one, too, and love it! However, I also have a larger one which I tend to use more. I have one on one side of my sewing table and the other on the other side. What a great price!!!!! I do have mine loaded with bits and pieces like machine oil, screw drivers, snips, etc because it is next to my machine.

Jill, how large do they come. The one that these ladies picked up are uite large. I only wonder what the larger ones look like. Yes, that price was unbelievable but true no wonder they took all they could when at the store. LOL

The other one I have isn't the same style. It has a heavy removable base so it can sit on a table, a big clamp which you can attach to the side of a table or desk ad set it in, and a bendable shaft to position the light. It also has a big magnifying glass arm which is also positionable and a longer light. I can also take it off the base and use it on my Grace quilting frame.

mdall 12-12-2012 03:54 PM

okay, I know which one you are talking about now. Seen that also, nice too. I cant wait to use this one. Told DH about it so he would know what he was getting me for Xmas and he told me just to use it now. YIPPEE. Although, I think I may just still wrap it up and wait just so I have something to look forward to on Xmas morning after all now fun when you know there is nothing under the tree and you have to explain to your kids why Santa didnt visit you. LOL

mdall,
I was doing the Black Thursday sale at Walmart and those ott lites were selling for $23. So I picked one up. I do know that at joanns they are $80 so its a good deal to get it any lower and for sure at $12 that is not a bad deal at all. I haven't opened mine yet since I'm deciding which machine I would use it by but you got a great deal, Enjoy! btw so nice of the ladies to bring the extras in, the gift of giving!

SEGASAL 12-13-2012 05:29 AM

I love my Ott lite...my kids got it for me for Christmas last year I use it to back light my machine and when I am doing small crafts on my sewing table they are the best lights!

Just want to let my secret pal know that I will be getting your package out in the mail tomorrow. I have a medium priority box ready to stuff, I just have to make two more things tonight, get stuff labeled and wrapped. Here's a little peek at something that will be in the box. No, not the styrofoam head silly, the white hand knitted hat. Just for you.

Sent you a PM about hats.

luvstoquilt 12-13-2012 08:32 AM

Annthreecats, Love that hat! I walk about 5 or 6 miles every morning with 3 friends...I could really put that hat to good use! I am still waiting so it could be mine! I love the anticipation most of all. This swap is sooooo much fun!

quiltingmommy 12-13-2012 08:47 AM

I mailed out a package yesterday to a quilter who listed purple as one of her favorite colors and has a lot of pets including a parrot. Hope you enjoy the gifts. Christina

Vanuatu Jill 12-13-2012 08:54 AM

Ok, another clue---you have been pelted with rain the past couple of days and love red. Your box was posted yesterday!

Belfrybat 12-13-2012 11:32 AM

Love seeing the hints and clues. But none seem to fit me! :hunf: I'm the newbie on this block, so shouldn't I get preferential treatment? Huh? Huh? Pretty please?

On a more serious note my package will probably not go out until Monday as the fabric I ordered just passed through Dallas and is coming by FedX which probably means a Saturday delivery. It is going to the person in the Northwest who has not posted for over a year on any of these forums.

twinkie 12-13-2012 12:05 PM

Well, my secret pal package has been mailed. Is it going West of me or is it going South of me or is it going in both directions? The zip code numbers total 36 or is it 37, oh well, I can't add too well. Anyway, I hope my SP likes the things that I selected. IT COULD BE YOU!!!!

TheMamaHauser 12-13-2012 12:12 PM

To my SP, your package left out today. I ran out of boxes, so it's coming in a USPS non-squishy, non-cardboard envelope.

Some hints to make you wonder...

You live in a town that is found in the state where I grew up... but your town is about 258 miles away from mine.

Your city, or area as it was in 1707, was named by Nanning Harmansen - when there were less than 20 inhabitants.

Your local theater group is named after a position found in most secondary and post-secondary educational facilities.

wanda lou 12-13-2012 01:43 PM

I hope its mine.... love the hat... A friend of my daughters made her one with three very cute flowers on the side, now I want one.

Belfrybat 12-13-2012 02:00 PM

Hmm........ I'm definately west and maybe a little bit south of AL, and my zip equals 36. Is it me!?!?!?!?
