This swap is for twelve 12 1/2 inch UNFINISHED Fall farm themed blocks. These can be appliqué, pieced, embellished, or whatever you want. Fabric should be washed, dried and ironed. Please send what you want to receive. Please consider prewashing a social obligation and courtesy to any who may have allergies and or live in smoke and animal free environments. Please use 100% cotton.

Please keep your blocks in the "earth tone colors," these colors include but are not limited to brick, olive, hunter green, denim, creme, cranberry, marigold, etc. These colors are more muted than their "jewel tone" counterparts.

You make 12 blocks all alike and send them to me along with a self addressed, stamped envelope for return postage which will be used to return your blocks to you. You will receive one of your blocks and 11 other unique blocks from other swap members. Since you will be getting blocks from so many other people, PLEASE MARK your blocks with a slip of paper- pinned on, or a paper sticker label, etc, with your online name and/or your real name.

You may make multiple sets of 12 blocks. You will receive as many sets in return as you send in.

Please have your blocks in the mail to me by FEBRUARY 15TH. I will have them returned to you as quickly as humanly possible. :)

Other things to consider:
*If appliquéing something that needs a background, and you found that "perfect fabric," use it. FOR EXAMPLE, A fish pond appliqued on a grass background for a more realistic feel. Creativity is GOOD!

* However, if you are making something and you don't wish to provide a colored background, please just use a creme or off white color. (like a Muslin.)

* When creating a pieced block, please use creme/off white rather than a "true" white.

This will help our blocks "blend" together more cohesively into a finished quilt.

Thanks ladies!!!

A Goat! Why didn't I think of that, barbsbus? Too cute!

Shelanie, a barn has sooo many possibilities! This quilt/swap will be lots of fun!

Well, I am off to bed! Good night all!

Put me down for farmer. We'll see what I can do with that.

MadQuilter 10-20-2009 08:36 PM

Do I have to say? I have an idea already but wanna play with it for a while. It has not been mentioned, so I don't think it will be duplicated.

Oh, all right - I wanna be the pond with fishes.
