I've just sent off my pm. I'm in for both swaps and can't wait to see what ugly means to others.

Sounds like a good plan-sent you a PM-can't wait to see what everyone considers ugly!

Though I have to tell you that the swaps have helped me go to almost double the number of posts from December until now! lol

Now Lynnie is the one you need to look at as far as number of posts!!! She almost needs a category of her own. LOL

(Like Super Duper Power Poster or something!)

Oh okay! Yeah, I don't post a ton. I read a lot… I'm a bit of a lurker I guess. ;)

PeginCo, did you get a partner yet? Just let me know, I'm reminding you. Bawhahahah told you so!!!!

cuppy 02-03-2015 07:05 AM

sewellie, your FQ greens/creams will be mailed out to you today.

Fiestypixy 02-03-2015 09:25 AM

I mailed my two swaps out today. I had received a PM with my partner's name for the uglies swap. I hope that Laurel and the surprise partner are both able to take photos, because I forgot!

I LOVE the whole 'making rugs' from ugly fabric! I made one 25+ years ago out of fabric that, at the time, I didn't really care for and it was rather thin too. I crocheted it into a 6 ft long rug I have used in my bathroom all these years and I just love it. I just throw it into the wash when needed and it has held up all these years.

I signed up for both, but Brat forgot me. I sent her a PM the other day and haven't heard back. So looks like I will be sitting out this months swap. Hope everyone has fun!!

Patchesnposies 02-03-2015 05:44 PM

Oh no, Jeanne! Brat has surgery or a procedure tomorrow (I believe) and she is expecting it to be a doozy. She forgot me for this swap, too. Her head was just too full of other more important stuff. I 'd be happy to swap with you. FQ's or Uglies? Which did you sign up for?

PnP

jeanne49 02-03-2015 07:11 PM

Patches, thanks for volunteering to be my partner. Sent you a PM - I totally understand about Linda and the procedure, it is quite understandable.

I'M SO EXCITED'!!!! Baby Willa won't spend the night, her daddy got to come home tonight, so I hope to get mine in the mail to you tomorrow.

kiffie2413 02-03-2015 11:12 PM

Hi my friends,
Popping in to say I pray Brat has sailed thru her surgery, and will be posting again soon! I love ya, Ms. Brat!

And a thank you for the thoughts, prayers, etc. regarding my hubby. He has MS, Addisons disease, and on 1/23 had a surgery to remove the rod and screws put in his right femur last April when he broke it. They didn't fit correctly, were causing increased pain, damage, so had to go.
Well last Thursday 1/29, early a.m. I had to call an ambulance for him. It appears my sweet man dodged a bullet of a major stroke. We spent 5 days in the hospital, came home late yesterday evening. Things are still trying to level off, he's very tired, and a little more unsteady. Though only being able to put 50% weight on 1 leg doesn't help that.
I hope I don't sound selfish, but can I ask for those of you who are comfortable with it to please keep him in your prayers? And our son and myself, too. My hubby is a trooper, saying it'll all be okay. I'm the worrier trying to stay strong. And though he's grown, we hated having our son see his dad go through this. They're extremely close.
And this is my cue to sign off, crying isn't something I do often, but lately it's my middle name.
Thank you all for just being y'all...
Regards,
K

Patchesnposies 02-04-2015 06:00 AM

Kiffie, Please know that I have you, your son and dear husband covered in prayer. Big Hugs and lots of love being sent your way. I know you are strong, but you cry all you need to and know it is just for a season. Thankful that your DH dodged that bullet. God is good. (((())))

Vitality 02-04-2015 06:01 AM

SO very happy o hear the good news about Brats surgery and that your hubby was able to come home and things are improving. *big hugs* to you Kif

jclinganrey 02-04-2015 08:19 AM

It looks like I signed up too late. Darn & double-darn. I read that Brat is out of commission yesterday and today, so certainly understand that.

If there is still anyone looking for a swap partner, I'd be interested!

* FQ's - preferably no St. Pat's fabrics
* ugly yard

Let me know!

Oh Kiffie, I am so sorry to hear about your DH but hope that things get better for him. Of course I will keep you, him and your son in my prayers. We all love you here so you can count on us for anything you need. {{{HUGS}}}

JuneBillie 02-04-2015 01:03 PM

You are always in my prayers dear Kiffie as well as your whole family.
Brat you are in my prayers too, and don't forget it. lol....

kiffie2413 02-04-2015 02:14 PM

You ladies make me cry more, but in a good way. I thank all of you so much for caring so much. I never dreamed I'd be so close to pretty much "strangers" I met on the computer. But I have grown fond of our sharing our passion not only for fabrics, quilting, crafting, but also for friendship, fellowship, and just caring enough to help each other out.

I read an update from Jaba over on the Valentine's mug rug swap that our Brat's surgery was a "no go". I'm not sure of specifics, but it doesn't sound positive. If I hear more, I'll let you know, and anyone else who knows more, please keep us posted. I will certainly be praying for her.

And I thank you all for your continued prayers for my family. We had a follow up appt with one of hubby's Drs today, he concurs that a major stroke was dodged, but there was a lil tia. The main thing now is trying to get a handle on hubby's blood pressure. It's been high for years, he's tried many different meds, he's currently on 2 meds, and it's still all over the place. Add in a low pulse, and we have to be careful to not lower that while lowering the bp.
On a happy note, he gets his staples out tomorrow from the rod removal in his leg. I know he's so ready for that whole ordeal to be g.o.n.e.!
Take care all,
A very humble and grateful,
Kif

I am set up with some swaps. Thanks!!!

SHOOT!! I did not mean that I was excited about Baby Willa not spending the night, I meant that I was excited that her daddy got to come home.

Now I'm sad to say that Baby Willa's daddy went in for a chest x-ray today and his lung is still leaking, so back to the hospital for surgery in the morning. They're going to scrap his ribs to create scar tissue so they can connect the lung to the ribs to stop the leaking. Hopefully, and I pray, that all goes well. If it does he might get to come home on Sunday. This time the surgery is local and they won't have to travel 400 some miles. Just had to get that off my chest.
Thanks for listening.

Anyway, cuppy, we are having Baby Willa periodically at different times and different days. But so far tomorrow is a free day and I should be able to get your fabrics in the mail tomorrow. Will post when I do.
Thanks for being so patient.
Ellie

PeginCO 02-04-2015 09:08 PM

Lots of hard things going on right now. Praying for all of you who are enduring them!!

Patchesnposies 02-05-2015 06:06 AM

Sewellie, I am sorry to hear your son is going through this. If it is any comfort, I will add him to the list of folks I am praying for.

No, sweet patches, it is not my son, he is my ex-daughter-in-law's husband. We are a blended family. I haven't heard yet today how the surgery went. He is so much family to us. Long story.
We would love to be put on your prayer list. Thanks so muchl!!

Got my fat quarters today from Rosemary! Thank you! They are lovely and I don't have much green fabric so very timely and I love the white tone-on-tone. Thanks again!!

kiffie2413 02-05-2015 11:02 AM

Happylab,
Thank you.

Ellie,
I'm just so sorry that Chuck keeps having to go thru so much!
I love your family story! It goes to show that family isn't always blood related, but it's who we love, and loves us. I pray he gets to come home Sunday. I also pray YOU'RE feeling ok, my quilty friend.

Vitality,
Where do I start? You were/are a beacon in a storm for me. Especially as we are just getting acquainted...I feel so blessed to have met you. And that you "get" that while I'm a talker, sometimes I just can't talk. It's nice just to get messages from you, and my other quilty friends that I can read and take my mind off of my stuff. The fabrics you got are great, I love green, so that makes them all the better!

Peg and Patches,
Sweet gals, both of you are...

Anyone have news on Brat? Still praying for her...

Regards all,
Kif

sewellie 02-05-2015 11:32 AM

What! no pic ;)

Vitality 02-05-2015 01:33 PM

Kiffie, I'm so glad things seem to be going okay, I know not great, but ok-ish anyways. Glad you are both home and hoping for the best and thinking of you a lot. Keep your chin up, we are all here for you anytime.

Fiestypixy 02-05-2015 03:15 PM

So many carrying so many burdens. Superficially it seems like the fabric and swaps would zap the little energy you have. But to see how you all reach out to one another is uplifting. There is power in prayer. As well as the healing that comes from knowing you aren't alone. As a newer member, it is so heartwarming to see how you support each other. I hope that all of your burdens and pain are lightened and that your loved ones heal quickly. And I look forward to getting to know such a generous group of women.

I tried 5 times last night to post a picture. I could not get it to work, so I gave up. But not completely, I'll try one more time, I don't know what happened since the last time I posted a picture. So if this doesn't work my secret friend will have to post pictures until I can figure it out!! Ggghhh.

Nope, just ain't gonna happen. I'M SO SAD!!!!! :hunf: So, now that the pkg. has been mailed, I can't take another picture! So frustrating!!!!

Sorry Theresa, it worked before.

Thank you for your uplifting words. I'm thrilled to see a "newbie" posting and I'm looking forward to getting to know you as well..

I actually did have to drop from 3 swaps this month. With my hubby in the hospital, I stay 24/7 with him, and I knew I wouldn't be able to get everything done. For me, it's almost better if I have something outside of myself, so to speak, that makes it where I have to focus on it instead of my worries.

I confess, I'm a chronic worrier. It's a terrible habit, and I wish I didn't have it. I pray about things, I give them to God, and then I seem to snatch them back. My hubby is the one who is at peace with things, and he and I talk about things often. I just can't seem to get to the no worry stage. But I'll keep praying about it. I'm trying to keep in mind that worrying about tomorrow takes away my peace and happiness today.

Vitality,
Thanks girl, and I hope you're feeling better, too.

Can't wait to see some "ugly" fabrics pics. Boy, I had some doozies picked for this swap, so I'll just live vicariously thru the pics...
I also have St Patrick's fabrics I bought special for this month too.

Take care all,
Kif
