FAT QUARTER SWAP : March Swap! Green/White or Cream and an UGLY FABRIC SIDE SWAP!

Good Day to everyone!

Starting the new year we will be doing a slightly different twist to the old Fat Quarter Swap! So pay attention and please read through!

We will be swapping FOUR fat quarters not five. This lowers the shipping costs and should make this reasonable for everyone to do. That should be more than enough fabric to make at least one wall hanging or a table runner as a gift and surely if you add it to something you have in your little stash you will find you can make something even bigger!

This month we are swapping: FOUR GREEN/WHITE/CREAM FAT QUARTERS. a FAT QUARTER MEASURED to be: 18 x 21 with a side swap of UGLY FABRICS! 1 yrd total details below!
Please cut your fabrics to measure exactly (bigger I am sure is ok) so your partner is not upset if they receive an oddly cut piece or short piece.

First off: GREEN WHITE OR CREAM FABRICS. Please pick fabrics from your choices at home of greens! whites! and Creams! this could include St. Patrick's day fabrics but does not have to include this. Make sure your fabrics are all cotton quilt quality fabrics. think leaves! grass! swirls and squiggles lol! something that could be used for other holidays or just used with other colors! Four Fat quarters are required for this swap.

Second: This is my favorite this month: We are swapping one yard of UGLY fabrics with our partners who are willing to just go for it and see what they might get! We are talking fabrics you just don't like at all or something you bought once thinking I could use this and then here you go years later still wondering what the heck you can make with it. This could include the following sizes: 1 yrd of one fabric. or 2 half yards. or four fat quarters. or two fat quarters and one half yard. three 1/3 yrd sizes! DO NOT CUT SMALLER THAN A FAT QUARTER PLEASE. So the bottom line is ugly to you ;) and a one yard total of fabric. I unfortunately don't think this is too hard for anyone. We all have a WHAT was I thinking? fabric why not share it with a friend :) (hey this is what friends are for). I personally have this very large flowered fabric that I now think .. uh.. what could I make with THAT? or the Mexican fabric that looks like a table cloth at your favorite Mexican restaurant. yup.. beautiful stuff that is. super bright stuff that is.. what do you have? are you feeling brave? sign up for this swap and let the cards fall where they may! PS NO TELLING YOUR SWAP PARTNER WHAT YOU WILL BE SENDING! this swap is a secret pal swap :) so its a true mystery what will come your way. you may wonder what to do with it too and you may just say Hey I love this! one mans ugly is another mans treasure. Fabric is like that.

One swap per person. You are free to join both swaps or just one. You are free to include one small item with your swap but this is not an obligation. Think an extra piece of fabric, maybe buttons or sewing pins.. or candy lol but don't go over board.

You must send a PM to sign up including your board name, real name, address and a phone number you can be reached at in case your package is not sent/received. You must send me a confirmation when you send your item. Per board rules if you do not comply with the above you will risk being banned from other swaps. Be responsible and mail in a timely fashion. If you have a delay for any reason please let me and your partner know why. This is important so don't forget it!

Sign ups until Feb 26th at noon. Names will be given to you on Feb 27th if not sooner. Mailing by March 2nd at the latest. If you cant comply please do not sign up.

ANY COMPLAINTS ARE NOT TO BE POSTED ON THE BOARD. You are to write to me and let me know what the problem is/was and I will deal with it. If you do not comply with this you are not welcome to play again the following month. Everyone has feelings. No one will be singled out for a complaint in public here. Remember that. Be creative! be thoughtful! have fun! post pictures when you get your March package. share the different varieties of fabrics that your partner sent. It is amazing the variety you will see.

I'm in for both swaps… confused by the dates though… we have over a month for sign ups? Maybe I'm just confused.. I've been doing 3 swaps.

Here it goes with the updated dates for sign ups: Sign ups start Jan 21st and end on Feb. 1st. Names out the 2nd at the latest. Hope that helps thanks for the heads up Vitality. I am so far from perfect.

I saw someone here loved wwf fabric and baseball. See a rear for every chair! I knew it!

Kiffie, once again for all to see: you can send 1 yrd of ugly fabric, 2 half yards of ugly fabric, 1 half yard and 2 fat quarters of ugly fabric just do not send less than a 1/8th yard of any individual fabric. that is just too small. you are free to gift those pieces however lol to your unsuspecting partner. The total for the ugly fabric is 1 yard. anyway you want to put it together. NOW the green cream and white swap is four fat quarters period. You can include more if you like but its required to put 4 fat quarters together for this. Are you confused still? if so please write to me me and I will try once again to explain it. I confuse easily lol so you will not be alone. :)

trish hate to ask you this but how did you end up with so much ugly fabric? I am gifted a lot of my fabrics some are so beyond me.. like tiger prints and oh zebra prints.. and baseball prints. I never say no. And amazingly enough if you go to say a boom swap and watch for the pictures of the blocks made you will discover as I did that an ugly piece of fabric you receive that you think what the heck were they thinking.. well you make a block and suddenly its like what a cool block this is. when I look at fabric now I put a small triangle up of my thumbs and forefingers and look at fabric through that. when you cut the pieces up into small pieces for a block its amazing how different that fabric can turn out to be. Just saying.. most are not as ugly as you think lol. just not your style maybe?

I'm betting it's because I wondered aloud over on last month's swap...but then I "got it" a few posts later...
So see, my confusion for today is elsewhere..when I figure out where, I shall let you know...lol
