Just wanted to let everybody know that i mailed my squares for the 5" flannel I spy swap and got 2 out of three of them back from 2 different states. Then I got pieces of the envelope back from yet another state. They sent me a paper to fill out so they can look for the third set of squares. They said that it was their fault and I could go get my shipping fees reimbursed but I will lose the shipping on the return envelope. Just wanted to let everybody know that the only reason I got any of them back was because I had my address label on each ziploc bag. I suggest you put your return address on each bag of anything you mail. Grrrrr

Judy I am so glad you got some of them back. What a frustrating experince you have had so far. Good idea to put your name and address in each bag in case something like this happens.

When sending material or pictures in the mail Dont put in an ordinary thin large or small envelope. I would put in a box. Mark each piece with a return label. In the box put them in a plastic bag with return address on it. I worked for the postoffice and it is not the fact that no one cares about the mail. It is the fact that most everthing is automated and if it is thin enough it will go through a machine. There are millions of pieces that go to a main post office after you put in in the mail box. The people that work for the post office do their best to catch thicker mail but sometimes some get missed. I have seen family pictures put in ordinary envelopes that are just licked and closed. The dry air pops the envelopes open and out comes every thing. Tape , tape ,everything shut. The paper sucks the moisture right out of the air at the main post offices. Sorry about your material. But hopefully this advise helps others from not losing their valued material.

Another member here posted not long ago that she got a doll quilt she sent back from the post office, and it was mangled and covered with grease. Apparently some machine tried to eat it!! So sorry to hear that your pieces are missing....you're probably lucky you got anything back!
