Sounds interesting , I have not bought fabrics for at least a year or more and am always looking to trade around or join a swap to feed my desire for new fabrics LOL . will stay tuned to see if I can meet the requirements with my way too big of stash !

Elisabrat 11-27-2013 06:40 AM

I have been waiting for this one!!

Tumdarra 11-27-2013 04:36 PM

YEAH is all I have to say :)

moonwork42029 11-27-2013 05:59 PM

Is there a way to do away with the selvage requirement?

I give my selvages to a lady in our quilt group to make purses and pin cushions with them. I don't have hardly any fabric with the selvages.

Thanks

Jannie 11-27-2013 07:10 PM

I hope I find this swap when it is officially posted!

sapdoggie 11-28-2013 07:24 AM

WELCOME BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now of course, you will be keeping us posted about all the shenanigance (sp)that goes on in your neck of the woods

Jannie 11-30-2013 01:00 PM

One of the past requirements has been 'A selvage piece with manufacture name of your fabric is required stapled on the outside of the individual baggie for identification purposes'. I was looking at some of my fabric and there isn't anything written on the selvage. Does that mean I can't use that piece of fabric?

lauriejo 11-30-2013 02:21 PM

Hooray I'm glad to see you back, we've missed you!

givio 12-02-2013 07:38 AM

I often buy fat quarters. As you know, 50% of the time they are from the side without the information printed on the selvedge... :-( When I get home, I always cut selvedges off... :-( I've joined here after you stopping doing your swap. I'd like to participate, but I hope that item isn't in your rules this time! I love scrappy and would love to get new prints this way!

Yosamitesa 12-02-2013 10:10 AM

I don't know if she will require it this time or not. Before completely counting the swap out, PM her and ask her. :) She may work with you. :)

luvTooQuilt 12-02-2013 10:19 AM

the requirements will be the same... SOME fabrics have no writing on the selvage and that is perfectly fine to use..
its when we do the specific 1930 and Civil war fabs is when the selvage is def mandatory.. its how i do the search to confirm its authentic 1930's and civil war fab lines.. ..The selvage helps when a member LOVES LOVES LOVES the fab and hits me up what it is.. and i can quickly send the info out..

When the swap is up ( and will be soon !!!!) we can tackle the situation as it comes..

FYI - If youre a newbie to my swaps it requires a yard per 'set' ....

Kequilts 12-02-2013 09:05 PM

Sounds like great fun - I'd love to be in when you get things rolling!
:)

luvTooQuilt 12-03-2013 07:12 AM

Im elated to see repeat swappers and newbies... !!!!!!!!!!!
Pass the word around.. the more swappers the more variety of fabs each of us will get in return.....

Jannie 12-03-2013 09:04 AM

Do you have a theme for this swap? I want to go shopping, but need a reason.

createfourpaws 12-04-2013 12:10 PM

I am looking forward to this swap. If you have an idea of the them so I can look for fabric.......a teaser would be awesome.

CyndyK 12-05-2013 11:57 AM

I'll keep my eye out for this upcoming swap. I'm just wondering, what do you all like to make with the 10.5" squares? I need some ideas. Thanks.

luvTooQuilt 12-06-2013 07:14 AM

Ok the teaser is ............................

Everyday is a Picnic, with a side of Bugs!!!!.

Happy shopping !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jannie 12-06-2013 08:32 AM

Oh, my. I need some ideas for this theme!

givio 12-06-2013 08:57 AM

Jannie, Ideas for this theme: bugs, of course, and any fabric that depicts a picnic. Checked tablecloths, things you might eat at a picnic, like apples, watermelon, sandwiches, roasted chicken, hot dogs, salt and pepper in their shakers, or mustard and ketchup in their bottles. I've seen fabric with eating utensils, spatulas, spoons and forks, etc. Maybe breezy outdoor things-- sky and clouds, grass, trees, bushes. Some of that wood fabric would be great for making a picnic table or a picnic basket (when sewing a paper-pieced type block). Any other ideas, anyone?

luvTooQuilt 12-06-2013 04:56 PM

ok for the newbies ill be a lil more specific..

the 10.5 sqs are FOOD fabrics.. and the twist is 5inch squares of BUG fabrics.. ill post the requirements in a few weeks..

sewmany 12-06-2013 06:34 PM

Newbie here. Keeping my eye open on this one.

givio 12-06-2013 08:35 PM

Oh, food fabrics! Well, there's lots of those to choose from. I like butterflies, but I'm not very keen on bugs. :-) I'm on the other spectrum from an entomologist...

luvTooQuilt 12-18-2013 04:22 PM
