It's beautiful and I agree it gives it more dimention.

tlrnhi 06-30-2009 06:55 AM

I wasn't too sure how it would come out, but I really like it
It looks a bit wonky only because it's not straight on the floor

Really really nice Terri. Thanks for the blogspot, just watched it and it makes it look really easy. Last time I did these I paper pieced.

By the way saw Izy today and she is looking well and will see her next week too, so you can let me have any messages for her.

Thanks Elle!
What I think I might do next time I make them that way will be to cut the smaller squares a 1/2 in bigger (longer). So instead of 3 x 3, would make them 3 x 3 1/2. Hard at times to get them ALL even. So, it is a little bit strange, some points are cut off, but couldn't be helped.

You just give Izy my best and tell her to make something great for all of us to see. Give her a hug for me too! :)

I will, and you know Izy she has been quilting her little fingers off.

tlrnhi 06-30-2009 07:26 AM

I can't wait to see what she makes! She does awesome work....ok. ALL of you ladies in Spain do awesome work!

Butterflyspain 06-30-2009 07:40 AM

Yes she does awesome work, I give her loads of scraps, cos I hate them and she just makes a complete quilt, she complety dumbfounds me with her patience.

Sorry to hijack this thread but today our Group made Mariners Star Compass and different one so will post next week when I finish it. Its going to be the centre for my blue and white stars swap I did earlier this year.

Oh she is just going to love that it looks really good. Is that the last round for Tisha?

Sorry ignore that I am a chump it canīt be the last round cos this is Round 4 DAH......

sandpat 06-30-2009 04:56 PM

Terri, that looks great! If Tisha doesn't care for it, then I'll just keep it at my house  I'll have to check out the RT method...I always just PP. You know how goofy I am...I like those points though. I can't wait to get a closer look at the results of the RT way though. Sounds interesting.

Elle...please tell Izy hi from me...miss seeing her smiling fingers  and beautiful work!

gramadona 06-30-2009 07:19 PM

Terri, your round looks wonderful. I'm anxious to try RTs method. It looks so easy... and I like easy!!

I used Ricky Timm's method. :)

OMG TERRI

It's beautiful, absolutely beautiful, the fabrics look georgous, you can read me like a book as I adore Flying Geese.
I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I'm so pleased I feel as if I am going to burst - sitting here grinning from ear to ear :D :D :D :D :D

Thank you so very much Terri - Tisha xx :P

tlrnhi 07-02-2009 04:19 AM

I was wondering when you were going to see it!
I'm SOOOO glad you like it!
Wasn't sure if you'd like it or not, so it still only has the one border on it.
So, now I can finish the rest of it.
Some of the points are a bit cut off at places, but couldn't help it.
Next time I make them, the 3x3 squares will be 3x3 1/2 to give some "grow" room. :)

tlrnhi 07-07-2009 04:09 AM

I sent Tisha's out to Patti.
Forgot to get a full pic of it. :(

sandpat 07-07-2009 12:56 PM

OK>......here I go to stand out by the mailbox and you know it sure is HOT out there!!!

Terri, that is just GORGEOUS! Look how the colors frame it. You did wonderfully! *&$%, this is what makes it hard to get the nerve up to join an IRR. grrrrr.

Ducky.....I actually shocked myself by doing that! Had NEVER done it before and was VERY apprehensive! I went a bit out of my comfort zone on that one. Glad I did and so glad that Tisha likes it.

Ducky....DO NOT be afraid of joining in. It's a great learning experience. It's alot of fun, yes, a bit of stress because you don't think you can do as well as the others. There is one border I did that I'm really not happy with, but the owner LOVES it. I'm not going to say which one it is tho.
Just do what you are comfortable with and if your comfort zone is to put a plain border with just a simple block in each corner, then that's what you do. BUT, I'm telling you...you WILL find yourself doing more!!
Oh, and we are here to help along the way!

Ducky 07-14-2009 06:47 PM

Thank you, Terri. You do such beautiful work that I find it hard that you were apprehensive to begin with. Sooo that makes me feel better.

I still have a couple of biggish projects to get out of the way, then maybe I'll feel less anxious.

Ducky 07-14-2009 06:48 PM

Meant to say "hard to believe" I'm way tired.

tlrnhi 07-14-2009 06:54 PM

Ducky...I've been quilting/sewing for many years. My quilting skills have gotten MUCH better since being on this board. I have made things, tried things I would never have thought I could ever do!
Like I say....jump in, the water is nice and the sharks don't bite! :)
