That Alaska quilt is great. I like the bear paw blocks, especially the great fabrics in the center of each one. They look like specifically Alaska batiks. And I LOVE the sox! That is the closest I would want to be to a moose, thank you very much!

Crazy Quiltin Robin 02-13-2012 07:01 PM

Daffy beautiful mini....... you always do such good work........... love the bear paws and the fabric is awesome

Northern Lights quilt is a beauty, Daffodil and Lucinda. We are never too old for Mom's to come to the rescue, hey Lucinda? Hope the thumb heals fast!

SewExtremeSeams 02-14-2012 08:12 AM

Kwiltkrazy! I think you are getting the hang of it with photos. I just started myself and am feeling a little more comfortable with them. Seems like it was easier on the 'original' board but at least it is doable, once you dive in. Love your Alaska quilt and those socks are to die for. How cute!

It is machine embroidery. They took awhile to stitch out becuase of all the color changes. I sure liked them though. Now hubby says I need to make one for home. maybe that is what I need to add for my other wilderness quilt that needs to be done. Thanks for the idea.

This is the wonderful quilt I received from sammygirlqt (Jeane). She has put so much thought and work into it. Her label especially as it gives so much information about the area and history. It is a little treasure in it's own right.

I love the detail you put in the quilt! And the info is like a little encyclopedia! A lot of thought went into all the quilts this month.

AKDaffyodil 02-15-2012 07:38 PM

KwiltKrazy...I'm so glad you like the quilt I made. Sorry I haven't responded before now but I'm actually in Oregon right now. Sorry you had an accident, hope you feel all better soon.

Daffy

AKDaffyodil 02-15-2012 07:39 PM

Heaven's couldn't have you sitting around twittling your thumbs; reminds me of when my Gpa showed me how to twittle my thumbs--must have been 5 or 6! Thanks for the memory and take care.

oksewglad 02-15-2012 10:13 PM

sammygirlqt--love the grain elevator--there's one left in a small town to the north of us. I think they understand the importance of keeping the elevator still standing. Here in Iowa about every 6-8 miles a small town grew up around the elevator and the railroad.

I know my partner got her DQ, & she can post a pic of it if she wants to...I was slow...family illness got me out of town...but I love the SouthWest designs & colors & hope she does too.

kwiltkrazy 02-16-2012 09:22 AM

Daffy you're quilt goes out today. Not one of my best, but I like it, hope you do.

kwiltkrazy 02-16-2012 02:51 PM

Daffy your quilt is on its way. Thank you for the wonderful swap. Sorry that we couldn't have gotten together while you were down here. Take care, Lucinda(kwiltkrazy)

AKDaffyodil 02-17-2012 12:39 AM

Lucinda, I can't wait to see your little quilt! Yes it would have been fun to meet you but wow....it was a whirlwind trip. My mom's 80th birthday and my sister and niece threw her a party. It was really nice and mom seemed to like it. The the rest of the time was spent going here and there to see family members all over oregon. We just got back home about half hour ago. I'm exhausted! lol

Hope you are feeling better!

Ronnie

AKDaffyodil 02-17-2012 12:42 AM

Just now getting a chance to see all the quilts for January! What a great bunch of quilts! Everyone did a great job.

I'm sitting out Feb's swap. Too many other things I have to get done. Hope to be able to join in again for March!

QuiltnCowgirl 02-17-2012 04:22 PM

kwiltkrazy 02-18-2012 09:44 AM

Daffy glad you had a good trip, even though a whirlwind one. It is always so nice to see the family. Tomorrow I have my four sisters coming over for a surprise B-d party for my oldest sister, three of the nieces will also be coming, can't wait. Have a great weekend. Quilt should be there Monday. Enjoy and thanks again.

My "Little Okie" doll quilt from uniquedesigner arrived! It is so cute. Perfect depiction of Oklahoma with neat special touches. I really like how she drew the county she's in on the quilt. And look at the back...she evenstiched two "Oklahoma" quarters onto the quilt! She said the red pocket is for some additional information she is emailing me. She also sent lots of goodies from OSU & OU, as well as including them on the quilt. Thank you so much uniquedesigner! I will treasure your doll quilt and look forward to keeping in touch with you! :)

I love your little Okie quilt. Everyone had done such fabulous work.

I was thrilled today to receive my beauty from Linda C. in Ireland. I just love the Celtic Knot with the hand stitching...it makes me think of the the Celtic Dancers that tour around. She also sent me a lovely magazine right from Ireland just full of great projects as well as this adorable coin purse with 3 seperate pockets inside. I don't know how she knew of my weakness for totes and purses. Thank you so much Linda. Here is a post from my new Canon camera..hope it's not fuzzy. (Okay, my pic is too big...how to a resize it?)

A Lucinda quilt is a treasure. She puts such thought into every stitch. Lucky you.

Lovely Celtic quilt as well. Just in time for St Patrick's day, too.

Krystyna 02-23-2012 04:43 AM

Thanks so much! This was the first landscape type of thing I've attempted. Well, for the harsh winter they predicted us to have, it's been pretty mild except for the third week in January that we had a snow and ice storm that shut the Pacific Northwest down. As normal, we've had a lot of rain. I hope spring is around the corner. I does seem unusual for you not to have any snow. I'll wish some your way.
