Just want to share with you the "picnic quilt", I made from another one of Luv's swaps. I had no idea what I was going to do with the fabrics. This is what I did. It is "grandma's picnic quilt." I am also using it to teach my little man the names of foods. And you of course need vegetables and fruits, but also desserts. I will not be participating in this round of Luv's swap, but am looking forward to the next one. Glad you are back.

Sent my info, found enough for 4 sets but no twists. Couldn't get 4 - 10 1/2"sqs. out of a strip this time. All my food fabric was 42" wide but when I cut off the salvage it was 1/2" to 3/4" of an inch short. Anybody else just get 3 squares from a strip?
wow fabric is getting smaller and smaller.. its been over a yuear since ive fabric shopped.. Sure hope its just a fluke.. |

I am interested but I have a hard time thinking outside of the box with this theme and can only think of picnic blankets with ants on it. The stripy creepy and bugs is easier. I will get back to you. Maybe some of you could post pictures of the type of fabrics needed to give me an idea.
OK I just found this in the other post- It is food. Most are having difficulties finding just food so ANYTHING you deem 'picnic'... (picnic baskets, food, utensils, grass, ANYTHING picnic) Happy Shopping.. |

Thought I would give some ideas for this swap. Hope it is ok.
Lobster, spoons and forks, cups, wine, landscape, bees, butterflies, clover, birds, snacks, candy, chocolate, desserts, fruits and veggies,sky, stars, rainbows, plates, red and white checkerboard or any kind of tablecloth looking fabric, bicycle, champagne, camera. Hope this helps. |
