July 2019 Pincushion Swap
 

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the July 2019 Pincushion Swap. So sorry to have posted so late but as some of you will know I have had my daughter visiting and the other taking her final exams etc. still, better late than never. You must be signed up by the 31[SUP]st [/SUP]July 2019 as partners names will be sent out between 1st and 2nd August 2019. You must have mailed by the 8th August 2019. This is a hard and fast deadline - no excuses. You must also please let me know when you mail and when you receive... this is so I can make sure that everybody receives a pincushion.

This is a personal choice swap so you can make any type of pincushion that you would like to.

Before signing up, please read the rules below:

Rules

As with all swaps there must be rules so here are ours!

1. This is a secret swap.
2. This is not a partnered swap so you may not receive from the person you send to.
3. Everybody on the board is welcome to take part.
4. This will be a bi-monthly swap (6 in a year) – you only take part in the months that you sign up for.
5. If you commit to taking part you must send out a pincushion… no excuses!
6. If you encounter a problem or issue, you must let me know immediately; there is nothing that cannot be sorted and re-organised if you communicate.
7. You are only committed to send a pincushion…. You may, if you wish send other items, but please do not expect to receive anything more than a pincushion.
8. Be kind to the person you receive from… we are all at different levels of experience on this board and we need to encourage each other… so if you receive an item from a less experienced stitcher - just appreciate the time and love that has been put into making it.
9. You must mail your item by the deadline above... no excuses.
10. The main rule is to have fun making and receiving some lovely creations.

Sign-ups will start now and close on the 31[SUP]st[/SUP] July 2019 for this round.

When signing up, please let me know if you have a nut allergy as some people fill their pincushions with walnut shells.

Welcome Nonnie4. This swap is lots of fun. There are so many pincushion ideas/patterns available, it is sometimes difficult to choose one to swap. Have fun with it.

Got my name and I'm back in Australia...I will go home and collect my machine ( I'm staying in town to housesit for my granddaughter) to quickly finish off my pC to get it posted.

Mine went in the mail today! Sure hope my friend likes it!

I got my package in the mail yesterday. It's now on its way down the east coast of the US.

Look at the cutie that arrived in the mail this weekend...along with some needles and a needle threader! Thanks so much Nonnie!

I received an incredibly awesome top hat pincushion with Steampunk-type gears,etc. attached. There were also two very stylish black feathers attached. There was also a lovely cloth pouch of fragrant lavender enclosed. Thanks Caroline for an incredible package. I am always anxious to see Caroline's creations. Thank you Caroline!

I returned to NC this evening from my 40th high school reunion on CA to find this beauty from Aurora. So creative! I love it and the extra gadget. It looks very handy. I will have to hide it from hubby. Thank you so much. Such fun!

Wow! Caroline...That's amazing. You are so talented. I love mine from Aurora too. My daughter tried to steal it and I said "Nope"! I am going to have to hone my skills to keep up with you ladies.

I am so happy you like it. The pincushion is knitted using wool to keep your pins/needles sharper. I am constantly using the magnetic telescopic wand to pick fallen pins off the floor. This is one of my favorite swaps, there are so many awesome pincushion patterns out there.

I received a wonderful pincushion from Marion that she cut out in Australia and stitched whilst she travelled around the UK and Mainland Europe... so I have a well travelled pincushion. She also sent a lovely bookmark from Switzerland and a FQ.

Marion! You do get around -- Europe. I love the little house pincushions, they are so clever with the tiny windows/doors and flowers and the bird! Simply Awesome!

Caroline, I'm glad it arrived safe and sound. Mine hasn"t got here yet though. I worked it out that it must be coming from Cuppie. I Will post and put a picture up on the new thread when it arrives. We only get mail delivered in Nabawa 3 times a week!

I have mailed couple weeks ago I have customs receipt, hopefully has received or will receive soon.

It always takes a long time to reach me Cuppie. My next mail day is Tuesday ( Wednesday your time) Then I have Thurs & Friday.Don't stress...all good things are worth the wait.
and Caroline please do put the next one up....I'm sure we're all ready and waiting!
