July - BATIKS REVISITED Disappearing 4 Patch swap
Sign-ups are open until we havea maximum of 25 swappers. Here’s how it works:we will be making 8 ½” unfinished D4PBlock quilt blocks. One set equals 6 D4P blocks. You may make as many as 6 sets of 6 blocks each which would be 36 D4P blocks. Wow! That’s a lot of quilt blocks. Imagine how cool that quilt will be??? I know! Right??? Please use ONE Batik with solid black per block and use a variety of Batiks in your sets. You could make 36 blocks each with different Batiks! Wow!!! The more variety the better. That would make a wonderful swap, wouldn’t it?
July’s theme is BATIKS REVISITED.In case you’ve never made a D4P quilt block, here are the instructions: http://sewwonderful.blogspot.com/2010/02/disappearing-4-patch-or-4-to-9-patch.html SPECIAL NOTE:This is a repeat of the D4P done in January 2014 which was enormously popular.I will give ‘first dibs’ to those who did not get to participate in the January swap then add to the list of swappers from the wait list, etc. until we have a max of 25 swappers. Please use 100% cotton, quilt shop quality fabric to make your quilt blocks. Please pay attention to the back of your quilt blocks; pressing, snipping extra threads, etc. Be sure your quilt blocks are squared up, trimmed and even. **Also note:please use real Batik fabrics, not something ‘similar’. Batik fabric has no front or back to it. The color is saturated completely through and is the same on both sides. Any blocks made with anything other than Batik fabric will be returned unswapped. Also, please no Batiks with metallic. Please PM me to sign up.Please provide:
After I have received all of your information I will add you to the list of swappers and PM you a message with mailing information. BE SURE to include the USPS envelope WITH POSTAGE, filled out with your mailing information, in your package to me.Set(s) of D4P quilt blocks will be due by AUGUST 30[SUP]TH[/SUP]. ** Please label your quilt blocks** Mailing: please put all blocks in one large plastic baggie along with your name and address on/in the bag. This will help protect your blocks in case your package is damaged. Please use a USPS Priority Mail® Padded Flat Rate Envelope (9 ½” x 12 ½”), buy$5.95 in POSTAGE, put postage on your return envelope and fill out your name/address etc. This will be your return envelope so be sure to put this in your package as well! Basic swap rules may be found here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm |

Jane, how soon will we know if we've been moved off the waiting list to the SWAPPER list? :D
|
Thanks for asking. I figure the 3rd week of July should be sufficient time to let new people jump in, don't you think? So, to answer your question, I'll post an updated list by July 21st. Does that work okay for everyone?
Jane |
Works OK for me. I forgot about the waiting list back in May and my 3 sets are already done. If you get more than 24 swappers I guess I will be making a throw with 3 colors. It should be pretty anyway. :)

Sounds great. I'll keep a watch with fingers crossed!!
