Ok. I asked Lovie if she wanted to do a PC exchange and she does. BUT so do her siblings. Ages are 6 with no sewing ability yet, 9 and 12. They are excited to try to sew a post card. Pm if interested. They need a theme. The 6 year old is my famous grandson Wilbur who has helped me clean and oil sewing machines and caused, a lot of laughter with his escapades. They will be coming here some time next week. Mercy was the one that drew the me mothers Giagantic brassier last month.

Cookie your design is classic - reminds me of beautiful 'mid-century modern' illustrations, or vintage decorations.
I like it! |
K-roll, I received your post card at my home. I will post a pic when I get there to pick it up.
|
I do like all the post cards this month, creative group. ctyankee, your post card went out a few days later than planned, you should receive it next week.
|
cookieZenmilk as long as we do our best that's all that matters. I love my post card from you. YOU made it for me and it's perfect ..:)
|
miriam I will do one and if 2 others want to do wonderful if not I can do 2 of them. I will take the 9 and 12 year old if no one else want to do one. If some one does I'll take the 12 year old cause I have a grandson that age and maybe sometimes he'll want to join in and he could do it. Just let me know okay cause I'll make an extra couple of the steam punk this month.

This sure will help me keep my mind off some tuff here. Easier to serve others than sit here and feel sorry for oneself.
|
Judith & cuppy -- I just mailed cuppy's postcard this morning. Looking forward to you receiving it, cuppy, & to receiving mine! Yay!

I received a post card and a package of ribbon brads from K-roll - is that a compass rose? Kool! Lots of texture and hand work. I never would have thought it up. Thank you K-roll.

Cookie I love that post card with the skeleton key and gears. Perfect!
|
thanks for posting Miriam, glad it came through - wow it's rough close up lol - it's a scary buzzsaw throwing flames but I like compass rose - industrial style I guess.
When I ripped the paper from the embroidery it stayed inside the blades which I liked, so gave them a light glue coat. The metal top piece came from ? somewhere - funny how one finds 'bits' here and there. |
Some nice post cards coming in! :)
|
How's it going ladies? We are quickly coming up on our hard mail date. (2 days left)
|
K-Roll, nice job. I have to admit, I was thinking of more of a "sun" piece then a buzz saw. But, I can see your a very out-of-the-box thinker. WTG!

I mailed both my swappers post cards yesterday. Talk about waiting the almost the last minute. But it's done and on there way home to their new owners.
|
Thanks Sandra, I have marked my list.
I had an unfortunate incident at my house yesterday in my sewing room. My sewing room resides in our finished sunroom. (No longer!!!) It was as if Niagara Falls opened up in my sewing room. Ugh!!! It's now an empty room until I can get estimates to fix it. Thank goodness I wasn't out of town when this happened. I was able to selvedge most everything with a lot of effort. We have had a whole lot of rain lately!!!! Sure am glad I mailed off early. Linda, have you received your postcard yet? It's been almost two weeks since I mailed off. |
So sorry for your unfortunate incident, Judith. Hope you can have everything fixed soon.
|
My Post card went out in the mail a few minutes ago. Yippee!! :):) Or is it whew-? ;)
Owlvamp- I hope you can post pictures~ |
Thanks Betty and Mariposa. I'm in a safe holding pattern for now until the is fixed.
I have updated my list and see just about everyone is in the mail. Thanks for keeping me updated. |
Judith I hope that you are ok. I know what water damage can do. I mailed my postcard on Monday and can't wait to see how long it takes to get there.

Cuppy, that is an awesome card. I love it too. Is it wrong to want a copy of every single one this month. You ladies are really rising to the occasion! WTG!!!
|
Thank you. I like this Steam Punk fabric post card also. I call it BFF Best Friends Forever. Not sure if it is a sprocket.
|
Those are beautiful Steampunk butterflies! And very nice goodies.
|
On the butterfly steampunk what are the little metal things for it's body? I love it!!
|
Miriam my grandson who will be turning 9 in July said he would love to exchange FPC with you granddaughter we will take the 9 year old so it seems that we all have them covered. My 4 year old said he would like to also so I may just let him do something and send it to someone on the board.

I think it is a metal chain. |
I have enough grandkids to go around on some swapping. Unfortunately my 91 year old dad is in the hospital with a blood infection around his pacemaker. He has to have the old one removed soon as possible, temp put on and wait to heal and have a new one. I'm sure the kids will be around some but not as planned. My sister is on her way from Arizona to help and to be with Dad. Anyway a lot is on hold right now. I'll have the kids make post cards when they do come over and we can let you know when they are ready but so much up in the air. My daughter has 6 kids and another coming in November. They are 2, 4, 6, 9 and almost 12 - the oldest (15) isn't interested. She is helping me with parents for the summer. She has been a Godsend. The 9 and 12 and 6 have swaps for now. I'm just sure we may need a kid swap feature here soon. It would be a hoot to see what they would do with a topic or just free choice, some scraps and a sewing machine. I think kids need to learn to love sewing and this might be a good fun thing for them. Lovie (9) made one PC and she is hooked - she wants to do more. I do worry about kids being somewhat volnerable on Internet but people here seem so wonderful. Kids need stuff like this to be able to do, too. Maybe get some bug ideas going or dinosaurs or hearts or what ever kids do these days. Lovie liked the steampunk ideas. AND she willingly sewed on stuff!
BTW I haven't seen a PC on this swap I don't just love - amazing talent everybody. |
I have been planning glamping PC out in my head. I just don't know if I'll be able to do one. While I love camping some of the time it hasn't been wonderful. Maybe we can exchange stories, too.
|
Great Postcards, I am enjoying viewing them.

Miriam, I hope all goes well with your dad. I will have to bow out on a kids swap. I still do not have a working computer and it makes every little thing here on board the frustratingly difficult. Plus, any official swap has to go through the powers that be.
|
Cuppy and Judith, wonderful Postcards. I love them!
