We had a slow start... this is such a busy time of year with kids getting out of school, vacations, camps, gardens, etc. But we finally have enough to play! We will be swapping 8 sets of I Spys and 8 twists only... due to lower participation. I will be contacting everyone who joined and giving my address to mail swaps to. If you know anyone else who would like to play, tell them to come get on board! We need more foodie swappers... (the 5x7 size food jar fabrics.)

Will post a list of participants soon!

sewbizgirl 06-16-2015 06:53 AM

Thank you, Lynnie. I have yet to find a child who doesn't love these quilts. So much to "find" in them! We would love to have you jump in and play with us, if you are interested... just pm me.

sewbizgirl 06-16-2015 12:45 PM

OK, I think I have contacted everyone who wanted to swap... if you did not get a pm from me today (with my mailing address) but you'd like to swap, please pm me and let me know.

Here is the list of swappers I have so far:

Sewbizgirl 8 sets/ 8 twists
Kele 8 sets
Jannie 8 sets/ 8 twists
Suzmcdan1214 8 sets/ 8 twists
Mommiepainter
Bullocks2us
PeginCo
Dottie Dodge 8 sets/ 8 twists
Barbara Kibbler

If there are no numbers after your name it's because I don't know how many you are sending. You can post or pm to let me know. We need more twist swappers!! You can do so many fun things with those food blocks. Not only the jar quilts, but they make the cutest market bags to take to the grocery store, to bring your groceries home in.

Still taking new sign ups for a little while longer... if you can cut and send soon!

owlvamp 06-16-2015 04:10 PM

Wow! Not very many signed up. I was hoping for a full house. I know it's a busy time of year.

PeginCO 06-16-2015 08:29 PM

8 sets and 8 twists for me, Sewbizgirl!

sewbizgirl 06-18-2015 01:12 PM

Kele, got your package today... your sets look wonderful! Many thanks for the "extras" you sent for me.

I hope the other packages start arriving too. Probably soon, since people had already cut and were waiting to send.

Thanks to all who are playing in this busy time of summer.

We might need you to 'play' too, Owlie!

PeginCO 06-18-2015 07:05 PM

Mine are cut. I will package tomorrow and get them out! I'm so excited about the food charms!

Me too. Can't wait to play with those!

Jannie 06-19-2015 06:38 PM

My package went out yesterday. Would like to see more players but will be happy with what we get.

sewbizgirl 06-20-2015 10:56 AM

Your package came today, Jannie! The PO moved with lightening speed... (for a change). Your fabrics all look wonderful, too! Can't wait til these are all in and we can swap.

Wow that is quick since I didn't get it to the po until late afternoon, and it is a little po inside a Hallmark card shop.

Melby 06-21-2015 04:44 AM

Hi all, are you still looking for players? I wouldn't be doing the twist but would probably do 4 sets

sewbizgirl 06-21-2015 10:19 AM

YES, Melby! We would love to add you. Please pm me with your real name and address and the number of sets you want to swap. I will reply with my mailing address for you. Go ahead and start cutting!

Just a thought... cost isn't much different mailing 4 sets or 8, and we do have enough to get back 8 sets... so think about it. 4 sets is only 40 squares.

WE NEED MORE TWIST SWAPPERS! Cute, cute food fabrics look good in jar quilts, market bags, and all your summer picnic items.

Library.Lil 06-21-2015 10:44 AM

If you are still taking swappers, I might join in, too. Will have to look to see what I have; will do so after Munchkin is in bed.

No twist for me this time around, and I'll be honest about why--it's the different size. I usually do regular and twist and I LOVE food fabric, but I usually cut what I have as soon as I have it, so I don't have different sizes. I'm not upset about it, just letting you know why it doesn't work for me.

sewbizgirl 06-22-2015 04:57 AM

We would love to have you in the regular swap, Library.Lil.... If you have 5x5 food fabric squares you can always use them in the regular swap. Just pm me... :)

Check out my Pinterest page for some ideas for jar quilts. https//www.pinterest.com/dottie_dodge/quilts-in-the-cupboard/ As I was looking around pinterest I can across this jar quilt that used a picture of Santa on a jar that looked like a perfume bottle. Of course, I became distracted and looked at a couple of other things before I realized that I didn't pin it and now I can't find it. You know the story, right?

sewbizgirl 06-22-2015 10:42 AM

Dottie dodge your link didn't work for me. I think because it's a secure page. I took the s off, after http, but it still wouldn't work. Any ideas?

hmmmm.....I really don't know. I copied the address off the page when I was looking at my posts. You have a Pinterest account so that shouldn't be a problem. Maybe someone else knows the answer. Anyone out there?

dottie dodge 06-22-2015 11:57 AM

sewbizgirl, I clicked the "follow" button for your pinterest page so I am now following you. You should have a notification on your pinterest page that I am now following you. If you click on my name that should take you to my page and you can scroll down to the board titled Quilts---Jars in the Cupboard. Since I signed up for this swap you should also have my real name, which is probably the name that will come up. Wish I knew more about the workings of the internet

sewbizgirl 06-22-2015 01:30 PM

That worked! I had forgotten that I am already following you on Pinterest and I just needed to look for you that way. You have some awesome boards, and all so neatly organized. I need to spend some time looking through all the quilt boards you have made.

The jar quilts are beautiful!

dottie dodge 06-22-2015 01:59 PM

Did you see the one with the Santa on the front? I think that is so cute! Went back and looked until I found it again. I think I could get lost on pinterest, so many good ideas, wonderful quilts, great recipes. I have to set my timer so that I don't spend too much time there.:D

Yes! That was a cute quilt... more like an I Spy, done up as jars.

Guys I'm so sorry I just got some crazy medical news and will not have time to cut my fabrics right now. I hope to get them done and set aside for the next swap when things calm down here. Again I'm very sorry about not being able to participate

Jannie 06-24-2015 06:51 PM

Does anyone know of a paper pieced canning jar pattern?

sewbizgirl 06-24-2015 09:53 PM
