June's Pincushion and Needlecase Swap
DESCRIPTION: Thisis a Secret Partner Swap of your choice in cushion, needle case orboth. You may sign up for up to two spots in both groups for a totalof 4 partners. Thismonth there IS a theme or color choice to this exchange. ForJune, I have decided to honor the colors red, white, and blue sincethey will be arriving just in time for the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] of Julyholiday. Everyone's cushion and needlecase should be just thesecolors. International swappers are encouraged to join us! Allskill level welcomed! CONSTRUCTION: 1.The cushion/case does not have to be quilted or hand embroidered,although it can be. It MUST be handmade - not purchased. 2.Both must be made of 100% cotton fabric. Needle case may have woolor felt insert. 3. Embellishments/applique/embroidery are welcome but not required. 4.The size and shape of the pin cushion/needle case is up to theindividual creating it, but should not be smaller than 3” x 3”. SIGNUP: Sign up beginstoday and ends Friday, May 31[SUP]set[/SUP]2013 at 7pm CST. I’llwill begin assigning SP's June 1[SUP]st[/SUP]through June 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]depending on number of participants. Please respond to the threadwith a post. Then, copy the information sheet and PM it completed tome. Don't forget to tell me how many spots you want. I willacknowledge receipt of your PM. Welcome to June's swap!!! Found my pincushion pattern today. I just have to shrink it. It is really supposed to be a pillow, but I fell in LOVE with it!! I am still searching for my needlecase pattern. May just have to come up with something on my own. We will just have to wait and see.

I completed my first pin cushion today! Made a pattern I have been wanting to try for a long time and was to scared to. Well I pulled up my boots and made it! It turned out better then I expected. Now for the second one. I am not sure if I want to make two different pincushions or make the same one twice. I might just make a bunch and go from there since I do have time. Is there a size limit on pincushions? Because the one I just made is huge!

Sent in my PM and pulled fabrics this morning. I am not a traditionalist, so even tho' we are to use red/white/blue, I won't be doing anything like a flag. Too simple! Way too many ultra cute pincushion patterns out there! I think this is going to be too much fun!

As tpo the addiction -- I'm getting there, Tracy. Two friends gave me pincushions for Christmas and looking at all the adorable patterns, I want to fill up a shabby chic nic-nac shelf my late DH made for my sewing room.

I need to add to mine, only have about 12 different ones, I want to expand on them, a cute collection of items, and not to expensive.
I finished my pc and ornaments for them. just waiting on my names now. can't wait!!! happy Memorial day everyone |

i'n not that into r w &b, but they turned out cute, and you know it's for the summer holidays.
whipped them up fairly quickly and they turned out nice. can't wait to see what everyone is doing |

i sure can relate to your conundrum with the cat. my cat stole both the pincushions i was making for the may swap. i found the one that was well started, but i did not find the one that was finished! i will start over, but i am determined to finish them both. i feel so sorry for my partners, but i told both of them that it will be worth the wait. I hope they agree.

Those are so cute! I had already picked a pattern before I realized there was a theme. Red white and blue isn't my thing, so I think I will sit out this round. I must get a picture of the cat, as he has stolen the pincushion that my partner last month made for me, the little kitty, and is carrying it around like a kitten. This is after i'd hidden the mouse as I was afraid he'd swallow a pin or scratch himself stealing it off my sewing table.

I knew what I planned to make, with the r/w/b color restrictions, but after trolling the internet, I couldn't believe the wonderful patterns available for pincushions. I think I have started a new obsession! Ok, ok, let's call it a collection instead. July's pincushion pattern has already been picked out! Don't dare settle on August, will probably find something I like even better!

Now to figure out a design to make. I DON"T think that I am doing another box. Not unless I see my partner say something about liking/wanting a box like I have made. |
