Received packages today from: Sienna's Gigi, Stitching post, luvTooQuilt, SheriR, KarenR and fmhall2.
Talked to my guy at the post office about taping the envelopes, he informed me that the tape can NOT be anywhere near the stamp area or where the PO put any of their labels. He suggest using the envelopes with the woven texture, it is only a little more expensive but is made for bulking items and does not require as much tape as the flat cardboard envelopes. Just FYI. |

I am looking forward to getting the rest of the I spy packages. We will be finished with the move to Olympia this weekend and then it will be time to sort squares.
I have done one I-spy for my little grandson, and now his sister is waiting for hers. Thanks to all your hard work her quilt should be just around the corner. Elaine |
You are allowed to tape:
to reinforce the seal on the flap closure.. i use one continuous piece and go all around the package.. to reinforce all seams. over your label to prevent the address from smearing. again i use one continuous piece and go all around the package. that in itself will reinforce the package for safe transport.. |

I do use alot of tape, but I do not tape where the labels or the stamp goes. At least he did not charge you extra, right? I will look into the woven texture envelopes. Thanks mmono, I am also glad you got my package. I'll have to not cut it so closely next swap... BTW...when will that be?? lol :D I'll want two spots again. <3
I am unsure when the next swap will be. I was prepared to keep the swap packages separate from the move and thank goodness that I was successful. However, my sewing room is a mess and I have NOT unpacked my fabric stash yet nor my cutting supplies. As soon as I make a little headway, I will let everyone know. |
What a couragous woman to be incharge of a swap in the middle of a move!

Isn't it crazy how five different PO's can give you five different answers..... I'll go to the small town one...smaller town one where the crabby lady isn't at. Well she wasn't crabby, but she sure put the wrath of the PO upon me!!!

Hi All, I've been reading how some people are having issues at the PO with mailing their blocks. This last time I sent my blocks in an Express Tyvek envelope that I got for FREE from the PO. Here is the info about the envelope: Express Mail Tyvek 11 5/8" x 15 1/8". You can order at least 10 or more for FREE to be delivered to you home. I had two sets of blocks (6 zippy bags of blocks) in my package and had room for more. This envelope worked fine for me I hope it worked okay for Michelle. Donna C. dconroy84 |
The packages that have arrived, have been all intact.
I am waiting on a few more packages and then I can start to sort. |
