I got it off of Quilters Cache, it is called "A Dandy"

Here is a picture of the baby blanket I finished yesterday. It is simple, but I love the way it turned out.

Sewbizgirl. this is a bonus block for you. This is all I could do with what I had left of your fabric. I hope you can use it somewhere, maybe a pillow?

sewbizgirl 02-26-2017 01:52 PM

Libster thanks so much for that bonus!

Libster 02-27-2017 09:32 AM

My blocks went into the mail this morning. Tracking number emailed to Janice.
Thank you, Ladies, for all the beautiful blocks. Please keep those beautiful pictures coming. I love seeing everyone's blocks. I am ready for Boom 19 to be announced! I think we all know, this is an addiction, all-be-it, a VERY pleasurable one!

sewbizgirl 02-27-2017 10:13 AM

I agree... a good and productive addiction! :)

joanelizbay 02-27-2017 01:26 PM

Package mailed and tracking # sent to Janice. I'm sorry I didn't think to make extra blocks for this swap. I know I made two for a lot of people but sure I would have had enough to make extras..guess with the shoulder and my sister I just didn't think right :) Sorry...

Libster 02-27-2017 01:47 PM

Joan, I, above all people, understand where you're coming from right now. I lost my only sister too. It tends to muddle the brain, at least for me it did, for quite a while. How is your shoulder situation coming along? Mine took a long time to heal, but it finally did. Slow and easy does it. Take care. Hopefully, we'll have another Boom to look forward to!

No problem, Joan! They aren't required.... You did great and finished early. All good!

joanelizbay 02-27-2017 05:37 PM

My shoulder is feeling much better. Finished therapy Thur and go back to Doctor tomorrow. Sure am glad Im not facing surgery!! I know what you mean about taking a while to get over losing someone. Ill be sitting here and Charlotte will just cross my mind and Ill remember things from when we were kids...Im sure it gets easier but at least they are happy memories! Not sure if I told you all but she had a dog that was about 16 and died of old age...she had him creamated and had his ashes on her shelf. Her daughter decided to bury the ashes with Charlotte...said it would have comforted her...I thought it was a very natural thing to do also!! Definately ready for the next swap. I think I have 4-5 more for April to do..Thanks and hugs to all of you!

Libster I am soooo with you Looking forward to Boom 19 also I am so glad I was able to get into this swap Love all the blocks and I got many ideas from all to making.

sewbizgirl 02-28-2017 08:50 AM

Great blocks, Lstew... I think you captured just what QM wanted with her Kaffe fabrics. Love the little houses!

That pattern worked great to show off Joan's fabrics, too. Can't wait to see these quilts.

Speaking of quilts... anyone put together their quilt from Boom 17 yet? I know Jaba did... anyone else? We love pictures!

Well, Sewbiz, as a matter of fact, I have all my red group blocks sewn into strips and then joined into two big sections. They're laying across the end of my ironing board, pinned together, waiting for the last seam to join them together. Then, SOMEONE posted this tute for QAYG! It looked sooo much easier than what I was trying to do already, so I thought ,"I just have to try this with a few blocks and see how it goes." Well.....two finished quilts later, and those two pinned sections are still laying on the end of my board. I am seriously considering tearing them completely apart and starting over with my new favorite way ever. Here are my two finishes by that tute.

sewbizgirl 03-01-2017 05:33 AM

Libster, thanks for the pictures! Those are beee-yoooo-tee-ful.... I'm happy you are getting that kind of mileage out of the tute. I'm planning on doing my Boom quilts that way too. The blocks are perfect for it.

I have to go out of town on Saturday, down to GA to help take care of my parents. My father has not been doing well for quite some time and my mother is his primary caregiver. Well, she had to have emergency knee surgery after she fell. Now she is not getting around so well. Lucky for me, she has a sew machine and fabric. If I have to, I can finish my blocks at her house. I have three left to make. I am hoping to get them done tomorrow night.

sewbizgirl 03-02-2017 12:05 AM

Great blocks, ladies! I just love mine... thank you, Lisa. I hope your parents improve. I know your presence there will be a comfort to them. Safe travel!

terriamn 03-02-2017 05:50 AM

Great blocks Lisa, so glad you are going to be able to help out your folks. Hope your Mom's knee heals quickly. Take care.

Happy to hear your therapy is over and it's much better. Whew. And it does take lots of time to work through a loss. I'm still working on it myself. :) It does get better though, at least in my experience. I think it's a lovely thing, putting the pup's ashes with your sister. Heartwarming.

I hope you like them.

Thank you for allowing me to play with your fabrics. I loved creating blocks for you. Thank you Janice for hosting this swap and I look forward to the next swap. Now on to finding a really nice piece of fabric for the next swap.

terriamn 03-02-2017 07:56 PM

Lisa, great block but I like mine best.

sewbizgirl 03-02-2017 10:13 PM

Those are great blocks, Lisa. I really like Jaba's fabric against that gold. Congrats on finishing!

I have already found a great piece of fabric for one of the next booms... (planning on doing two again).

Janice McC 03-03-2017 04:47 AM

Hmmm...the topic of the next boom keeps coming up here and in emails. Guess that means we'll have another one. :)

jaba 03-03-2017 05:26 AM

Did you ever have a doubt Janice? :). Lovely blocks Lisa thank you

Libster 03-03-2017 05:30 AM

Yea!!!!!!!!

Janice McC 03-03-2017 07:17 AM

Ummm...yes....in the deepest, darkest spot in my nightmares. LOL. Or when, like right now, I'm sorting out blocks, making notes, fixing my database, quadruple checking my numbers, searching for a misplaced block...standard boom stuff really. But, let's face it, all this still tilts well to the positive on the Boom scale. When it doesn't, I'll let you know. :)
