|

Well mine will be out in tomorrows mail. Figured I have so much to do and each day is going so fast, that I want to be sure Juanita gets hers since this is new for her. It'll be in tomorrows mail, and hope you like it. Won't put a picture unless Juanita wants me too.....hers reminds me of my 6" sampler blocks in the jewel colors.
|
Still working on mine for Rhonda. Fabric selected, ready to wash/starch and cut, block design selected......then I caught a cold that turned into bronchitis and haven't had the chance to take it to the next step. My block should be done and out the door sometime next week (I hope).

Good Morning everyone. Rhonda, I have a question. When we are making your blocks, are we allowed to change the blocks around? It will still look (some) like your block but with a few changes.....??????? I was working with mine last night and and and and and I did some changing :) :) :) if this is NOT allowed I'll make a new one. Thanks and HUGS

If your partner doesn't mind I don't care if we make an exception this time. The point of doing the swap was to get people to try my cut down method. Since you did use that then the placement of the blocks is not as important. |
Hey Rhonda, I do not mind re-doing. I picked out a real easy one hahaha half triangles, I hadn't done any as of yet so thought OK lets check it out. AND YOU know half triangles, one can ge carried away, ESPECIALLY MEEEEEEEEEEE.... I really do not mind doing another one. Besides I really like the one I made as well. wahoo. You know me easy.... I will redo.... I still say that little guy has the cutest kissabe little cheeks any granny would want. lol.... Have a GREAT weel-end. HUGS a bunch with LOTS of blessings. me

I love your colors in the one you made for Juanita. And of course you did a fantastic job. The one she made for you is really well made! I'm not a big brown fan but am learning to like the teal. |
While I was swapping with the teals, a couple people sent me pretty blocks in the blues and browns, so just wait until it's done, it'll be gorgeous!!!!! I don't think there's a color I don't like....

Another thing against the browns in my mind is because as a kid my mom dressed me in browns alot and I hated it. I don't like feeling drab. But brown is one of the colors my mom likes in clothes. I much prefered blues and greens. Still do. |
I'm working on my block now and hope to have it out in the mail in a couple of days.

Here's how my block looked for this month:
|
Ok, it's not orange at all- bad pic. Two reds and two blues, looks patriotic. Think flag red for the left red.

It looks fantastic Shelley! How did you like making the Wings blocks? Did you use the paper templates or the 30 degree template? Just curious.

I just measured it- it is a perfect 30degree. I guestimated when I made my paper templates for my paper piecing.
It isn't paper piecing it is like doing a dress pattern. Print off and cut out the patterns. In the case of Wings there are 4 pieces. Pin them to your fabric and cut the fabric to match the paper pattern. Then sew the two left ones together and two right ones together and then sew the two halves together and then cut out the square from the center. Easy Rhonda's Wing Blocks Paper Template Tutorial http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...l-t106744.html This uses a size of paper template that works best for a 3 1/2" acrylic template so I redid the size of the PTs for a 2 1/2" so there wouldn't be so much left over Rhonda's Updated Wings Block Paper Templates http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...s-t108533.html And I did them for the Star Point block Rhonda's Paper Templates for Making the Star Point Block http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...k-t108486.html |
beautiful block Shelley and AWESOME color combo. you did a great job. :) :)

It's finally done -- only 6 weeks late but better late than never they always say. Here's a photo of the block I made for Rhonda for the March block swap. It's going out in the mail tomorrow morning (May 8). I hope she likes it.
