November 2019 Pincushion Swap
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the November 2019 Pincushion Swap. Sorry for the late posting again but we were waiting for one pincushion from the last swap to arrive. You must be signed up by the 30[SUP]th [/SUP]November 2019 as partners names will be sent out between 1st and 2nd December 2019. You must have mailed by the 8th December 2019. This is a hard and fast deadline - no excuses. You must also please let me know when you mail and when you receive... this is so I can make sure that everybody receives a pincushion. This is a personal choice swap so you can make any type of pincushion that you would like to. Before signing up, please read the rules below: Rules As with all swaps there must be rules so here are ours! 1. This is a secret swap. 2. This is not a partnered swap so you may not receive from the person you send to. 3. Everybody on the board is welcome to take part. 4. This will be a bi-monthly swap (6 in a year) – you only take part in the months that you sign up for. 5. If you commit to taking part you must send out a pincushion… no excuses! 6. If you encounter a problem or issue, you must let me know immediately; there is nothing that cannot be sorted and re-organised if you communicate. 7. You are only committed to send a pincushion…. You may, if you wish send other items, but please do not expect to receive anything more than a pincushion. 8. Be kind to the person you receive from… we are all at different levels of experience on this board and we need to encourage each other… so if you receive an item from a less experienced stitcher - just appreciate the time and love that has been put into making it. 9. You must mail your item by the deadline above... no excuses. 10. The main rule is to have fun making and receiving some lovely creations. Sign-ups will start now and close on the 30[SUP]th [/SUP]November 2019 for this round. When signing up, please let me know if you have a nut allergy as some people fill their pincushions with walnut shells. So come on, join in and have some fun! Hugs Caroline |

Sat down today and finished mine. However, it is not a pin cushion. It is a needle cushion. I found the cutest pattern in an old McCalls quilting magazine. Just could not resist. Mailing out tomorrow.
Hint... it has a tail! |
Sounds good Bugaroo. I posted mine off yesterday. How did you come by your name "Bugaroo"? Its so Australian! driving at dawn and dusk Its said a lot, when a roo bounds out in front of the car. Bugger! Roo

Mine is boxed and ready to post tomorrow - Wednesday.

M-Fay that is hilarious!
Two reasons. 1. My daughter is a biologist and works in an insectery -- yes raising bugs for research. 2. Bug or Bugaroo is our golden doodle. So when he was little, I called him Doodle Bug. Then when he got in bed with us, he was a Bed Bug. When he gets in the trash, he is a Sh...t Bug. When I want him out of the kitchen, he has to Bug Out. Thus... Bugaroo just fit him perfectly! |
I received a needle case from Sharon Bugaroo no pincushion not sure if this was supose to be my pin cushion. Bit confused.

Hi Guys,
I received a lovely pincushion and needle threader from Connie... thank you so much I really love it. [ATTACH=CONFIG]620819[/ATTACH] Hugs Caroline |
I am so glad you like it. The pattern was a fun one to do and it was a freebie! It's called the Mandala Flower pin cushion by Sami Dolls tutorials and she goes step by step in a you tube video. I couldn't go wrong. The hardest part was picking the scraps!
|
Bugaroo can you post a pic of this needlecase I just adore it. I am very happy with this little mouse and his tail. Thamk you.

omg, i love that little cheese and mouse needlekeep. i should have joined this swap. great idea.
|
that mouse & cheese has huge possibilities. Iys gorgeous!
|
Thanks, I just thought it was adorable in the magazine. The pattern called for felt or felt wool. I did not have any so I used a heavy flannel. In making it again, I plan to use a bit of interfacing.

I received my package today and to say I am thrilled is an understatement. If 2 lovely Christmas pincushions weren't enough, I received one of the over the shoulder kitchen towels. I have wanted to make one myself for a long time. I still use my mothers old terry cloth apron and thought these were such a great idea. I am just not sure who my pin cushion buddy is. No card. Just an address in Kentucky. Love it and many thanks.

Nonnie,
I am the guilty individual. The pincushions were supposed to look like Christmas candy. The kitchen boa was designed by one of our club members after seeing them on Esty for $19.95. She drew her own pattern and I made some changes to it as well, primary in the construction. I made almost 20 of them and gave them all as gifts. Sorry about the card, I was already running late and I lost the card, as they say, "Time was of the essence" so it was mailed without a card. Please forgive me. I have gotten feedback from someone I gave a Boa to before Thanks-giving and she said it was great having it around her neck -- it was so handy. Enjoy both the pincushions and the Boa and have a great Holiday! |
Aurora, I thought it might be you! I love the boa and it will be used. I have been wanting to make some. I love the curved edge. So many I have seen are straight. My package jingled as it was being opened adding to the excitement. I was actually just using the other pin cushion you sent me the other day. It has such a nice weight and I love the yarn center. It will be fun it have a seasonal pin cushion to use at Christmas. Thank you again for sharing your talents.

Nonnie, It actually hangs around the back of your neck and hangs down on both sides in the front. |
Hi Guys,
Can you explain what a Boa is????? I know what a feather boa is... but not what you gals are taking about. Hugs Caroline |
Hi Guys,
Can people please let me know when they have received as I need to put up the next swap and I won't do that until everyone has received. Thanks Caroline |

I picked my pincushion up Thursday from Cuppy. It was like no other pincushion I have ever received. It has a beautiful puffy flower in the middle and a safety pin with buttons and two charm on it. So sorry I cannot post a photo.
|
Glad you like it bugaroo and yours sounds interesting aurora, perhaps cuppy has a photo.
