November Pincushion Swap
 

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the November 2017 Pincushion Swap. Sign-Ups will close a little early this time to allow for delivery before Christmas. You must be signed up by the 25th November 2017 as partners names will go out on the 26th November 2017 and you must have mailed by the 30th November 2017. This is a hard and fast deadline - no excuses.

This is a personal choice swap so you can make any type of pincushion that you would like to.

Before signing up, please read the rules below:

Rules

As with all swaps there must be rules so here are ours!

1. This is a secret swap.
2. This is not a partnered swap so you may not receive from the person you send to.
3. Everybody on the board is welcome to take part.
4. This will be a bi-monthly swap (so 6 in a year)– but you only take part in the months that you
sign up to.
5. If you commit to taking part you must send out a pincushion… no excuses!
6. If you encounter a problem or issue, you must let me know immediately; there is nothing that
cannot be sorted and re-organised if you communicate.
7. You are only committed to send a pincushion…. You may, if you wish send other items, but please
do not expect to receive anything more than a pincushion.
8. Be kind to the person you receive from… we are all at different levels of experience on this board
and we need to encourage each other… so if you receive an item from a less experienced stitcher -
just appreciate the time and love that has been put into making it.
9. You must mail your item with 4 days of receiving your person’s name.
10. The main rule is to have fun making and receiving some lovely creations.

Sign-ups will start now and close on the 25th November 2017 for this round.

When signing up, please let me know if you have a nut allergy as some people fill their pincushions with walnut shells.

I am a bit behind because of a few family things... but I will get the names out tonight! So sorry.

At present there are not too many signed up so it will be a small swap this time....

I hope your life is back to normal again, Caroline. Enjoy it ALL while you can, I will be going to town tomorrow & will post. I'm looking forward to the next one. I have found a pattern which will be a challenge. Our summers coming....slowly...which is good. Everything wilts when it's scorching hot. Cheers now

It has been a while since I have used my mailbox and I forgot to remove old messages. It should be okay now.

My package is on its way North. Hopefully will arrive Monday.

My package is heading south of me and should be there by Monday.

November Pincushion Swap
 

It looks like I'm the first one to receive their pincushion swap. And was a wonderful swap it is. I had never seen a wool knitted pincushion and this one came with a seam ripper and a pair of scissors. So clever. And what beautiful Christmas fat quarters. This was such a lovely swap and thank you so much. Loved everything. This swap is from Angela (Aurora).

I received my pincushion package yesterday from IreneC. While I am unable to post a photo. I can tell you it contained one of those beautifully folded ball ornaments; and, an incredibly beautiful jar pincushion containing a tape measure and colorful pins. The jar is topped with an awesome floral pincushion with folded petals. I am always amazed by the variety of pincushions available to us quilters. Thanks Irene C for being my swap partner.

Hello everyone,
I just got to open my package from Pat (nhnative) which arrived yesterday. I just got home from being out of town for a days and arrived to a great surprise.

The pin cushion is a beautiful, squared black felt shape with a lovely red cardinal, sitting on a berry branch with leaves. It's all hand embroidered, Pat your hand work is so detailed and just beautiful. I will treasure it. I also received a cute quilted Santa ornament, so cute. Also a very cute felt ornament with embroidered face and a cute scarf with a little jingle bell. And last but not least a pretty little mat made of Christmas yoyos, so fun. Almost forgot, a chocolate bar and a pack of coco......this will make a lovely snack tonight:)

I have to find my camera and charge up the batteries, it's been a long time since I've used it.....I will post photos tomorrow.

Thank you Pat, I love it all. You are so generous to share you talents with me, especially your lovely handwork. Everything is wonderful!

I received a lovely package today...... It was mailed to my neighbour who brought it over today.... the package said 24 and we live at 22..... and she has been out since it arrived! I will take pictures later and post as I want everybody to see the fun pincushions that you send, I love them both! Also, thank you for the lovely goodies - you are always so very very kind!

I'm glad you got it ok then. My house no is 24 so I probably wasn't thinking! I've been making Christmas puddings all day today so havent been down to collect my mail, so mine could be there and tomorrows a mail day as well. When do we have to have the next pin cushion ready? My SS sent me a book of patterns for them.

Still waiting next mail day is tuesday

I just made a big mistake. My pincushion swap went to Irene C and not Aurora. Aurora sent me my pincushion.

mine didnt come in the mail today. thursday is next mail day. What time to we have to have the next pin cushion finished,please? I havent started mine yet.

Next pincushion swap is end of January so plenty of time. I am slightly worried about your package as another package I mailed to Australia at the same time was received last week! Please keep me informed. I know there may be a delay because of the Christmas mail... but I am anxious now!

Have you posted the December pincushion swap yet.

Caroline we only get mail 3 times a week ( tues, thurs & Fri) where I live so that doesn't help much but it will come!

Got home today, Jan 8 and there was my beautiful owl pin cushion waiting for me. It arrived on the 4th jan after being delayed in the Christmas mail and shut downs. He was accompanied by binding clips, a card and 2 lovely fat quarters. Thank you so much Caroline and now to get started on the next ones.
