Krystyna put me down for one of those turkey pincushions.

thomp116 10-26-2011 11:46 PM

I love the turkey pin cushion!!!

FQ's or yardage...anything goes.

I think you've all gotten into Lori's meds now that she isn't using them too much. But I guess there's nothing I can do, so ... turkey pin cushions on the way. I hope they don't get lost .... better PM your address to the monkey. His user ID is MonkMonk

Crafty Darlene 10-27-2011 04:02 AM

LOL! Krystyna that is soo cute just love it!! But of course I would love to have a turkey pincushion too!

Krystyna you should start a PDA for all this funny stuff ! I don't know where you come up with all of it and how did you get the turkey onto the dog?

quiltnut4ever 10-27-2011 05:45 AM

now thats being creative gobble-gobble!

Lori Peercy 10-27-2011 05:45 AM

We are up to 110 for nov with 9 asking for 2 secret pals. There are only 4 more days to sign up!!

Krystyna 10-27-2011 05:58 AM

How many of you have left feedback for Lori for the wonderful swaps she manages?

hangin head in shame...what a wonderful reminder, Krystnya...thank you. Altho I try to remember to do my SP because I know how excited I was to get my first feedback rating...I hadn't thought to honor Lori with the rich, well deserved feedback...just did it!!

For those who are new, go into the user list at the top of your screen, type in lori peercy, look down the list, find where it says feedback, click on it and type something nice!!

Krystyna 10-27-2011 06:12 AM

It's a small thing to do, but boy oh boy, if anyone deserves it, our Lori does! Be sure to pull down the menu where it says something about buy/sell to where it says trade and whatever else ...

It wasn't easy. The dog would stay still and that monkey! I don't even want to tell you what awful things he was doing!

Krystyna 10-27-2011 08:48 AM

I am feeling rather cranky today. My OCTOBER SP (not to be confused with my NOT SP) still hasn't sent out her package. So all you happy November folk - please visit those of us who are on the bench back here in October. We are getting lonely. And cranky.

thomp116 10-27-2011 09:19 AM

Krystyna...get off the bench and stitch some pin cushions!

thomp116 10-27-2011 09:20 AM

OK, November SP whoever you are.....I love the turkey pin cushion so much that I sort of copied it this morning. Now you know what you are getting! Hey, I don't even have a name yet and I have sent out my first hint!

leiladylei54 10-27-2011 09:34 AM

Oh Krystyna....I am soooo sorry your October SP has not sent you your package!!!
I hope he/she will do so soon.

Krystyna 10-27-2011 09:37 AM

I don't think she will but it's OK. Not the end of the world. In the overall scheme of things it just doesn't matter.

Ooops. I forgot I'm maintaining silence.

leiladylei54 10-27-2011 09:39 AM

Oh Krystyna....I don't know that I would have your kind of patience nor forgiveness. You are so sweet.

Juli 10-27-2011 10:27 AM

I am again this month again sign up again for 2 sps.

I tried paper piecing for the first time the other day. What do you think? It's not perfect but I don't think it came out to bad for a first try.

I left feed back for her soon as I discovered that we could
do something like that (which was soon after she left feed
back about me).

Now to answer the question about FQ's or yardage, well I
am flexible either or for me. Its not like I am "hurting" for
either since I have a MASSIVE stash on my own. My FQ's
equals 2 bins (58 qt size) that measure approx. 17"x13"x23"
packed FULL and started on a third bin already.
AND I am not even finished with the sorting & refolding of
all the fabric so that it can be moved into the fabric room.

Guess what I did today?

I went and did some "shopping" for a few items to stuff
in the box for my SP once I get the name. Of course at
the rate I am "buying" I might end up having to use UPS
to do the shipping (just kidding of course).
But I did "stock" pile buying so that I could have some fun
(I hope they will be considered fun at least) for future SP
swaps.

Last but not least my temporary job assignment is over
for now and I hope to be able to frequent the board more
now. But it was fun working at Chipotle Corp Office for two
weeks.

Havplenty 10-27-2011 01:02 PM

let me preface this by saying this is not a rant or accusation or indictment or fingerpointing or blame game or any of the similar above actions but merely a question. okay now for the question: why is it that there are people who continue to sign up for different swaps but consistently do not follow through or take on so many swaps and later find themselves "surprised" that they cannot keep their commitments due to biting off more than they can chew, yet they continue to keep signing up?

i often wonder if it is just a need to belong and be part of something (in thread posts only) without the "hard" obligation of upholding that commitment. again this is just a question and not an indictment of anyone in this thread or any other.

Havplenty 10-27-2011 01:04 PM

great block. i am tempted to also try a new york beauty block. i saw some great ones one day when i was surfing the net.

oh did you use wax paper as your foundation? i bought a roll the other day to start my creations.

No I used the printer paper that it was printed on. Duh I have freezer paper, I could have traced it on that and it probably would have been easier....lol

thomp116 10-27-2011 02:31 PM

Oh, Maryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Now can we see pictures of your house???????????? Please???

It is for the reason you stated (one of them) that I will NOT
sign up for more than 2 EASY swaps at a time, but I try to
keep it at only one swap so that I can make sure that I do
fail to meet the commitment that I made to the swap.

I have a swap that I would like to see done, but since I have
never "hosted" a swap before I fear that I may screw it up.

I hope you meant to say so that you do NOT fail to meet the commitment!! lol (I couldn't resist) Hosting is not hard if you are serious, I would help you get started and tell you how I do it. When I took over I got no instruction and I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone else. So if I can be of any help send me a pm. Lori

HAHA THANKS!!

For catching my error, my brain was thinking faster than
my fingers wanted to keep up. IF that is the ONLY error you
found than I feel PROUD (LOL) because normally there could
be about 3-6 typo errors.

YES I would love your help in starting a swap.

thomp116 10-27-2011 04:58 PM

Do we get a little hint as to what kind of swap you have up your sleeve? Just a little hint, please?
